I wonder if Stranger of Paradise would have versions for other FF titles like FF6 (probably a retelling of the War of the Magi, with the main characters being the Warring Triad themselves)
Thanks, Nomura, for this silly, fun, enjoyable game that now is a canon prequel for basically everything Final Fantasy related. Truly, one CHAOS loving creator.
The sad part is that despite how memeish the game seems to purposefully be, the writers seemed to have been playing it straight and didn’t understand why the game was meme’d as hard as it was. Total disconnect between writer, intention and consumer.
This game was so silly for me but i am glad to know about the game, as a classic fan of old final fantasy games, was special, good god Garland, too much Chaos.
I hope more people play the original FF. I recommend the GBA version. It's very much like Pokemon but with humans. It's actually quite different from later FF in that you have to make a decision on which attack to keep as opposed to being able to keep everything.
I tend to see the potential in things and the game certainly had some, I can see what the dev's were trying to do but only kind of fumble in places. I'm not calling the game bad but I'm hesitant to call it good.

Strangers of Paradise is the weirdest love letter to the mainline FF games, and we love it with the most irony possible.

People think of Square as this big budget 3A company but a lot of their non mainline games were charmingly jank.
