It looked very tough out there but that’s why they say the U.S Open is the toughest tournament of the year for both the PBA and the PWBA but spares are what matter especially in the U.S Open and I have bowled some big tournaments in my state with tough patterns and SPARES are what will give you the best chance to win the title. You got this!

Oh Bella - Thanks for sharing this. I have followed you since you were the youth rep for bowling... You are amazing! Here you are at the US Open, LITERALLY bowling next to Hall famer Liz Johnson. How Cool is that. You have a great career ahead of you - please continue to share! Always on your side and rooting for your success!

At 10:51, that was a wicked sick pickup. The 6 pin giving a kiss to the 10 pin. Hehe. Looks like you were able to use reactive resin to open up the lanes as they dried out to your liking later on.

Your doing great Bella just that fact that you are there is a huge accomplishment! You've got a great head on your shoulders! Chalk this up to experience and learn from it! I have no doubt there will be plenty of more tournaments for you like this! No doubt these patterns are hard to figure out. Your will and determination got you here and take every opportunity to learn. You are awesome Bella! Keep going strong and never give up!!🙂

What a great learning experience Bella. Now you know what you need to work on with your game. 10 pins, ball speed consistency is what I noticed the most. As long as you tried your best that's all that matters. ♡♡♡

You inspire me. To even compete at your age in such a prestigious event is unreal. The lanes look very tough. A grind requires a mindset that you will refine over time. This event will help. Stick with the process. Always.

Keep at it Bella :) I have to say as tough as it looks, you've been doing amazing just getting there and doing your best! Remember even a small win is a win. And your a superstar just for doing your best! The struggle is real, and it's shown, but be proud of yourself for just doing your best and being one of the youngest ever to bowl a US open! That's a feat just on it's own. Look how much growth you had and gained from that first PWBA last year. Your journey while tough, is worth it. I see lots of growth coming your way cause of this OPEN! Good Luck tomorrow :)

In sports as in life, on different days different things about us are tested. You wanted to be tested on your skills in this tournament! You are being tested on your will instead. Shannon O'Keefe says being mentally strong is essential to being a success in the sport. And Liz Johnson is credited as being the mentally toughest of all time! Listen to me Bella, your victory this weekend will not be measured in the number of pins you knock down! That is not your test. Your mental toughness is being tested. Don't let it beat you! Don't let it win! You are better than that! And need I remind you -- lots of collegiate coaches are watching you this weekend! Show them how mentally strong you are. Show them you don't give up. May God bless you and give you strength.

This was a rough block for a lot of people so don’t let it get you down. As your shot making gets better you’ll be able to handle these brutal patterns better. Good learning experience 🌻

It's such an honor to be there. A great experience and probably will be the toughest field you will ever face (until the next US Open). I just pray that you are enjoying such a unique opportunity that not many women even get to do. Head up and keep grinding with a smile and a positive attitude.

As always, thank you for the video, Bella!
If I were in your spot, I would work with a urethane ball in these types of situations, especially match play; eat up your opponents' oil patterns. Gamesmanship.
Bella, you are like Belmo, Troupe, and Simo.. soon the WPBA will be all yours!
I believe in you! The best I ever did was carry an 182 average through a sweepers league; I use 2 fingers as well, but with only 1 hand. You blow me away with your love for the game.. go get 'em!!! Thank you for allowing me to comment.

One of the most difficult things about these tournaments is staying focus and having that determination for a grueling 8 game sets, I know. Your young and this is a great learning experience for you. Your going to one of the greats in time. Keep giving it hell!!! Your a once in a generation talent!!!

  • @Lat41

One specific thought. A grind out is taxing. Mentally and physically. At some point you may feel your energy start to drain. Take snacks with complex carbohydrates. Simple carbs don’t sustain the body long enough. Bananas or apple slices in a bag were my go to snacks to help sustain my energy on tough patterns.

It was great being able to be there on Friday and getting to watch you compete. Yes, it was a very tough shot and I could only sit there and imagine your frustration level because I know where mine would have been! I found myself muttering out loud when you'd throw a good shot, only to have a 7 or a 10 not know enough to fall down, or when it looked like you had a multi pin spare covered, only to have the ball make a bad move at the last second. Hey, you have a lot of years ahead of you and this will hopefully help create some mental toughness for future tournaments. Best of luck!

This is what separates the amateurs from the pros knowing how and when to make adjustments with conviction. That pattern is torture no room for error at all. Also noticed the were times you were falling out of your shot instead of your usual solid form. Im sure you're not the only one that wanted to scream or cry after being on a pattern like that . I do believe with some of the posters sometimes resin gives you a better look down lane especially on the backends.

The key are your feet try working on getting to the line the same I have been watching slow down relax work on your feet and balance at the line either you stand up or fall forward at the line stay down and roll it. Just some advise. Good luck.

Don't know if you have a coach, but another set of eye's never hurts. Anyhoot, you might want to throw the purple hammer for the first 2-3 games. Until the pattern gets blended or burnt. Then shell up and move left. Also food for thought. Drill a thumb hole in your spare ball, and practice on throwing it straight. Nothing worse than missing a 10 pin, and missing the cut by 1 pin. No one likes to be the alternate... Tell Felicia to smile more!! And tell her I might make my come back at the Willey tournament in montana this year

Versatility is key. Toughest tournament in the world. At some point, you're going to have to learn about bowling balls. Right handers can't live on urethane and mid line symmetrical balls when they are this hard.
