The commentator is located away from the explosion watching it live from a monitor, and as sound is slow to travel he might have seen it on the monitor before actually hearing the explosion on hes own. Go watch a golf tournament, in the distance you see a player hit hes driver but the sound arrives to you after the swing is complited. Light travels 892 800 times faster then sound in air.

CFCtroop I Agree, you have to play the sport to appreciate it, and even at that its still hard to watch, but sometimes its actually very relaxing to sit back and watch golf, I usually fall asleep or doze off its a good thing to have on for ambiance if you just want to chill and do nothing!! kinda like those waterfall and rain videos....
