  • This video looks at the history of the Bahamas and how it has always been shaped by its location. It begins with its first inhabitants, the lucayos, continues with Spanish colonization (or lack thereof) then moves on to how it became a British colony, a republic of pirates, and finally a tourism destination.

Wow this is all basically correct! I am actually from The Bahamas, Nassau New Providence in fact! :D I am currently in 10th grade so even though some of the information is new to me still, on a behalf of the Bahamas. Thank you for making this video! What are the chances of me stumbling across this video?! 🤔Gotta share this fr.🤣

Whatever the colonizers tell the indoctrinated people will always sound like the truth.

    Another excellent video, Professor!
The Bahamas seem like one of the more successful post colonial nations. They seem like a stable nation. Left-centre and right-center parties rule. Unless I missed it, no military coups. A stable economy. Are they a model for others? Or is their success simply linked to being next door to the U.S.?

Success is relative. But compared to the rest of the Caribbean, they’re doing quite well. I think the root for that is a small population, no major political disagreements and manageable inequality because slavery was never as prominent as it was in other islands.

Great vid. More Americans should know about the closest country to it besides the two it shares land borders with.

    •  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Sadly, few know about the other two, let alone the Bahamas.

Air pollution: Delhi air turns very poor but 'worst is yet to come'.The air quality in India's capital Delhi has fallen to poor levels and is expected to deteriorate further in the coming days, officials have said. SHAME on RSS-based BJP and MODI
Delhi is one of the world's most polluted cities throughout the year. India does not even have an Air quality standard like the rest of the world but one that is stuck in 2009 and all their pollution control operations in most states are corrupt and dysfunctional.
But its air turns especially toxic in winter due to various factors, including the burning of crop remains by farmers, low wind speeds, and the bursting of firecrackers during festivals.
The polluted air causes severe health issues to Delhi residents every year. Sending in manned missions and wasting money just to show off looks bad ignoring real Indians to poor health and with no clean drinking water- Shame.
