To me, Shatter is a masterpiece. definitely top 10 of their discography, if not top 5. The sound harmonies are next level, especially in the final chorus where Yoohyeon sing with the choir sound and Sua low pitch vocals (bang it on me shatter...) and instruments. it sounds so good. What I also loved is that this song gives me witch/cult vibe cause the chorus sounds like they're chanting/reciting a spell Also, I find it funny that the child sound(?) at 10:28 became adult choir sound, like the child has grown
Agree. Shatter to me was perfection and I actually didn't like it at first because it sounded so in your face but a second later I loved it and can't stop listening to it. It's always on replay. Shatter is sultry, haunting, atmospheric, edgy, and eerie. Love it!
Shatter is depicting story about fighting medusa but failed at the end and they turn to stone, that’s why the song is end abruptly.. you should watch their showcase performance for rising and shatter…. We are young kinda fits as closer for this arc, it’s like when you win battle with the evil in yourself you can have endless possibility for your future becaure you are young and can do anything except being evil to yourself 😊
Thanks for the video. This mini was definitely the villain of Dreamcatcher's discography. Totally agree with you about the concept and "We Are Young" not fitting. The songs by themselves, besides "Rising" took a few listens for them to grow on me.
I think it's fine to look at each song in a vacuum rather than trying to see how it fits thematically. Their concepts have always been specifically for the title tracks anyway.
Always interesting to hear your thoughts on the album 😊 next album is supposed to be the parallel to this one! Shatter is my favourite, and I think the live perf/medusa storyline really added to it. Can't wait to hear rising & we are young live though, they will be amazing for concerts!
