  • Now that the bed frame and slide is ready to roll, it's time to add some hidden under the bed storage. This week, we're building two sliding drawers under the bed to maximize storage and keep things organized in this TINY VINTAGE CAMPER : )

Thanks! He sure keeps us on task...as long as it's whatever task he's interested in at the moment, lol!

You've did a wonderful job on Your camper and it shows! On sealing Your windows, I noticed You only put sealing tape on the low part of the sheeting on the sides of the windows. If You didn't put sealing tape on the high part of the paneling You would have metal to metal, that won't seal out water. this could cause a serious water leak at 60 miles an hour. I am referring to minute 7:03 of the video. Enjoy Your video's. Simon is great, what a treasure.

Thank you! It's been a bit more work than we expected ; ) Went back and watched the video and we didn't show it but we also have butyl tape on the back of the window so that meets the high part of the siding and the butyl in the valleys fills in those deep spaces with the butyl from the back of the window as well. Hopefully that's enough! We had that recommended by someone in the vintage trailer restoration group after our glass kept breaking - they said we were torqueing the screws to try and pull the siding up to the window when we just needed to add tape in those valleys and the back of the window. I think there's an episode where we talk about it in our Windows playlist - at any rate, I sure hope these don't leak anymore! We can't take doing them over again!

Bought the exact same model few days ago and was curious if you know where the VIN number on these would be located at?

Technically these didn't have VIN numbers until the 1980s, but sometimes they're titled under the number that can be found stamped into the tongue. Sometimes not though, and there can be a plaque installed somewhere else, but it can be a bit of a scavenger hunt to find it.

Maybe not the best idea to give him the screws…

Amazing Goop plumbing contact adhesive sealant in a gray tube works for the window corners. Bonds the corners together better than E6000 and waterproofs them. I applied to the back side of frames at corners and any miscellaneous holes in aluminum frames. Works great. Tolerates outdoor temps. Found in plumbing dept at Lowe’s. Still leakproof 10 years later.

Thanks, that's a good tip! I'll check it out on the next batch of windows I restore!
