Am I the only one who gets emotional watching these missions? This is such a massive accomplishment, I don't think a lot of people appreciate how much work goes into making it all happen.
yip, always feel overwhelmed with the progress. But I also feel sad because I don't think ill experience the fruits that this labour will bring us, I hope to experience space and the views and the micro gravity before I die.
I rarely cry. But I absolutely lose it every time I watch the video of JPL mission control confirming Curiosity’s touchdown on Mars in 2012

Heat from the re entry is at plasma level, radio/video signal are easily lost inside of that plume sonit's basically impossible/mega hard to get any signal from and to the capsule.

The splash down is such a huge force I can’t imagine how they feel. Would be nice to see the interior as they touch down.

Technically speaking they are not in 0 gravity, they are in constant free fall. The ISS is not in space, but as matter of fact in the orbit at height of 250-260miles above the ground. Or aprox 400kilometers above the ground. Gravity is still nearly 90% as strong as at the Earth's surface.

1. The ISS is in constant freefall and is experiencing 0 apparent weight, which is essentially 0 G.
2. 'Space' starts at 100km, the ISS is well into space.
After landing the rescue team carry’s them and put them in what looks like wheelchairs to avoid any spine or other injuries.
It was amazing to watch this reentry. Congrats!

They are hypergolocmthrusters so will look a bit different from the cold gas ones were used to
Not the same kind of RCS as you probably know from Kerbal Space Program. These are a bit more like small rocket engines, there's fuel being burned, and they're making their own light.
Cold gas thrusters, like you do see on KSP, are used on the Falcon 9 boosters for their RCS. Watch some of the booster landing videos, you'll see them. They look quite different!

This re-entry was done during the night. So cameras wont see any shit in the sky stupid.
After a couple days of being weightless in an enclosed environment, walking on a rocking boat and breathing that ocean air is prolly a little jolt to the senses. You know, like walking without roller skates on after you've been skating all night. totally same thing

Its bad practice, and kinda bad luck to do.
If anything were to go wrong, it'd make for horrifying footage. And when its tried its kinda bad luck. For example the only time there was ever live footage on a passenger aircraft from the cockpit, it crashed.

We are watching the beginning of the end of the astronaut as this sort of emotional human.. the hugs, the professional camaraderie. In 10 years, if not sooner, these events will be commonplace and not all people working in space will be as highly trained and vetted as these people. There will be a levelling of standards and different peer cohorts will become established. Space is becoming less mysterious. Some amazing times in which we live.

I was out taking night time photos of celestial bodies and there on my camera was this thing I had no idea what it was. I had no idea about SpaceX at the time as far as their launch/Re-entry. I knew it was the wrong shape for the space station. So after examining the photos inside later and did some research I discovered it was SpaceX.

I wish we were all alive when space travel begins to resemble episodes of startrek. First contact. Maybe one day. Would be cool to witness. Space travel is still very rudimentary. We are very limited on what we can do and how far we can travel. Thats why exploration is so cool. You learn, discover, and make progress, make mistakes, and improve, and innovate. I will never understand people who think space travel is a waste of money and resources. It is in our DNA to explore and push the envelope. Its the same reason why we have civilisations and no longer live in caves. We are stardust. The universe with small flashes of self awareness. Space exploration is awesome. Brave men once explored the oceans and took risks to push the envelope and discover...from the phonecians, the vikings, and eventually the English and Spaniards. This was a pleasure to watch. Awesome

Me too. I thought that was strange.
One astronaut was able to walk after leaving the capsule (with assistance) the other three left on stretchers (not a very dignified exit) because after a long duration spaceflight your legs don't work correctly.

My question is that how long does it take them to reach the ISS when they are going and how long does it take them from ISS back to the earth when coming back?
It depends on the ISS relative position, location of a launch site and the launch time.
It usually took about 50 hrs.
In some cases Russia is capable to reach ISS in 3 and half hrs.

Question: Can the Astronauts alter the path of the Space station by simply moving? If yes, will it be automatically corrected by thrusters?
No, if they push them self from the wall of iss, the iss will move a tiny bit, but when they hit the other side, the forces cancel each other out
