keep in mind, his training wasn't only off set but ON set as well. (he and many other actors like hugh jackman ate chicken almost every two hours off and on set to maintain high metabolism and protein consumption. (both actors complained the results aren't worth the hellish amounts of chicken they had to consume (and it's not tasty chicken either, you can imagine how sickening it'll get after a single month.) and with all that said...
eat like that, work out ONE hour a day, TWICE a day, EVERY day, and you'll start to see results, even after a week, small or big, guaranteed.

@Thanos not everything is discrimination. Hundreds of people are needed to make a movie and they ALL deserve praise, but at the end of the day it's the lead actors who draw crowds and so they are the ones used to market the movie. For those of us who are interested in knowing more about what goes on behind the scenes, these (sadly) small featurettes are created. I do expect/hope all of these people are paid what they deserve for their work and are treated as valued members of the team, even if they are not the ones being invited to the late night shows.

Such supportive replies, thank you! I agree, there are at least 3 differences here. 1) Chris was in better shape to begin with (he had played a super hero before). 2) He almost certainly had help from professionals and worked out twice a day, ate a ton of high-quality food, etc. 3) Immense pressure to look a certain way on a certain shirtless shoot date (it was probably in his contract).
I’ve been working out for most of the last 3 years focused on overall health. Circuit training, calisthenics, P90X-style functional fitness. I enjoy that stuff and I’m in great shape; but I haven’t built a lot of muscle. And yeah, hopefully I’ll get there. 💪

@@elguapo87 what you just describes aren't reasons that go against the idea that he juiced a little. Having a good baseline doesn't mean you can get to peak body builder type musculature in 3 months. He obviously had some help. Saying he didn't juice is like saying every beautiful actress that is 40+ has never gotten botox because they "had a good baseline". Sorry, no, all of these stars get help - they have teams dedicated to their looks. Russo brothers talk about this. In the comics Steve is very bland. He's stiff, including his character. They wanted to find a way to really dive into who Steve Rogers could be as a person without losing his values as a hero. I really think a lot of it has to do with Chris Evans as well, as his face gives off a sharpness that feels commanding, but a softness from his eyes that makes you feel close to him.

It's so satisfying when a character is physically meek, but more determined and noble than those stronger or bigger or wealthier than them. For people talking about how it took Chris 3 months to get in shape, remember he is a guy who works out all the time, and even before that he was a quite muscular guy, but he needed to become a litterall machine for after the serum, so with that, trainers, work out everyday and body that is already used to training hard, its not AS hard as it would be for a guy to go to the gym for the 1st time and become Chris.

Im so glad they decided to focus more on his character before the transformation and not in the transformation itself. Too many movies don’t care about the story and it is that which makes them too lackluster, when they focus on all the cool tech and science stuff. All that doesn’t matter if the story isn’t invested in the character.

It was used in politics, british royalty, zuckerberg, you name it. Now it's being pushed as a "danger" presented in the context of "omg what if people use it for bad."
