      I loved how when we are coming back to the resort tired and sweaty late at night and the cast members welcome us back with a warm smile and a “Welcome home.” ❤️❤️ That’s not something you get at other resorts. And it was as comfortable as home too.

      100%! the one time i went to disneyland and didn’t stay on property, it felt weird. when we were there for my 30th birthday, i got a special tray of chocolate covered strawberries, candy, and a cute card delivered to our room the night of my birthday! 🥰 when you go to the pool, they give you sunblock and treat you like royalty!

    I was divorced around 15 years ago and always go by myself. My kids have kids and they go with out me. BUT, I have been to both Disneyland and Disney world and do spend about 95.00 to 100.00 for a room on property and ride the buses from Hotels to the parks. At Disneyland I stayed at the Motel 6 newly refurbished for about 65.00 per night. At Disneyland I stay for 3-4 days because Disneyland is a three day park. Disneyworld I stay for a week, 7 days or 8 nights. But the more nights you stay your cost of each ticket goes down. I have not been for a couple years in Florida so I am sure Tickets are higher. I am now on Social Security since I no longer work so I have to be especially cheap! Thanks, for your video....I am 64 but my love for Disney is still burning in my heart! :)

    There’s many other options you don’t have to stay at a Disney resort if you don’t have too, I got a four night deal at the Radisson for $246 for four people! I paid $559 for the tickets for three since one is a infant and the tickets are for three days so one park a day. I paid $160 for a round trip and I saved around $750 for food and soverniers for those three days at the park I’m going with my husband and my baby and my toddler. And my hotel does have a shuttle for the parks and also airport

    Being a Florida native , I will never stay off sight again since ( almost ) everything is on site for you ! I highly recommend if you are military , active or retired go to your nearest base and go to the ITT and buy the tickets there for a WAYYYYY discounted price . I went to Disney in December and my four day park hopper ticket was $230 . And we also booked our hotel room on site using military discount . For our room for 5 nights and 5 4-day tickets was only roughy $1700 . This deal could also work for anyone that has friends in the military, they would just have to go with you on the trip to verify the ID !

      The only down side is you have to be a certain type of "veteran" to get the steep ticket. We tried this past January my dad is special forces Vietnam vet and fought 4 years in Vietnam but he didn't qualify because he didn't retire yet an active National guards person just going once a month and two weeks in the summer gets it. I wrote to Disney and even cast members were so ashamed of their policies. They were all super respectful and thanked my dad for his service- he has dementia so this was huge to him. My husband didn't qualify either 10 years Air National Guard.

    Best tip I can give is don't eat out for every meal! Grocery delivery apps will deliver to your hotel! For about the cost for one meal for my family of 4 I had breakfast and lunch items delivered to my hotel which allowed a simple in the room breakfast and packed sandwiches for lunch, bringing us WAY under budget for food, allowing us to spend that much more on souvenirs and the fun Disney snacks (for those planning on going while the meal plan is unavailable due to covid restrictions)

    These are great tips. We are not DIsney novices and we go about 1-2 times a year. We have broken down the costs much like you did and made the comparison between staying on property (at a moderate) vs off property, driving vs flying, dining plan vs out of pocket. We have 4 in our family and we are going again for the 8th time in June since 2009. We figured out it was less than $150/day for us when we factored in all of these things. (We stay at PORS, fly in, and get the dining plan). We have made comparisons to other vacations that our friends have gone on and spent the same amount of money. For what they got and what we got for the same price, we got so much more out of it. Not only did we have a boatload of pictures to show everything we did (mind you we usually go for 7, 8, or 9 days at a time) people cannot believe we still go year after year. It is the ultimate vacation for us. We are never hungry, thirsty or lacking in our fun factor. There is always a place to relax if you want to be away from the parks for awhile and there adventures that can be done during the stay as well. We love Disney and many people say, "How can you afford to go every year?" We watch the sales, we watch for free dining, we watch the airfare (which is often times the deciding factor if we can go or not) and we also watch for how many days we can go (I am a nurse so sometimes scheduling can be a problem). So with all that in mind as well as this video, Disney can be done for less than $1000/per person. Even if you stay at a moderate resort, it can be done affordably.

    Great video! We are going in two weeks. We planned too late to get a value resort room 😒 but found a hotel near Disney Springs that had shuttle running every 30 minutes to and from the parks--from one hour before opening to 90 minutes after the park closes. They also qualify for Disney Magic hours which was a bonus!! We decided on 4 days to manage our budget and got a discount on our passes (20% off for Canadians for a 4-day ticket or more)...always important to check for deals on park tickets. :) Thanks for all the great information you have shared! :)

  • @cindybissonnette437

    Once you get to the 4 day ticket adding additional days is very inexpensive per day. For example with the prices now a 4 day in June 1 park/day ticket is 469.14 including tax. 5 day is 483.25 and 6 day is 494.43 so if you can swing the extra hotel nights the additional days in the park add very little cost. Two extra days for only $25.29/ person.

  • @JasonT850
    @JasonT850 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I’m sorry but you are wrong on some points. You say that the less days at the park the more money you will save but that is wrong, Disney gives you a discount the more days you stay. So if you were planning on staying five days but you decide to stay only four days the price of the tickets go up
    Also if you have a target red card or a target debit card you can purchase Disney gift cards from target and save 5% on those gift cards so if you purchase $100 gift card you’re really only going to spend $95 on it

    • @MaggiesTwoCents
      @MaggiesTwoCents  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      While you’re right about the ticket prices decreasing, you have to consider the other costs for staying longer-lodging, food, transportation, etc. if the only price of going to Disney was the ticket price you’d be right!

    I've been going for the last 21 years from different parts of the country and always get awesome deals. First, I book at least 6 months out and get great deals on airlines and hotels. I book within 3 miles of Disney. I got a week in a hotel at $46 a night and did research on the hotel and it's good, No ( Bed bugs, etc.), and has shuttle bus but, I Rent a car incase I want to go to Universal or Walmart. The shopping on Irlo Bronson Hwy. right outside Disney is cheaper and tons of gift shops that carry great stuff plus Super Walmart is right there and water and snacks are cheap. If you're stuck on Disney property, You have to buy their stuff at their prices. Aspirin, Water, $3 bottles of water... I got a week in a resort for my Wife and I Roundtrip from LA, 2-5 day Park Hopper tickets and a rent a car for $1900. I used to drive from N.C. and saved even more plus, My first time We bought a time share and got screwed. Don't go to a timeshare presentation for free rickets.

    How many people is too many to bring to WDW? I always go with 6, its the perfect number for rides. (space mountain = 2 carts of 3 , splash mountain = pairs of 2... etc) Its not too hard to find a table while eating in the park for 6 during the season we visit. And our hotel we love sleeps 6 perfectly. This year our party has been challenged to bring a 7th and 8th person, but most of us are relluctant because of the added difficulties such as agreeing on fast passes for 8.. finding seating.. new hotel.. splitting up our party on rides... should I be letting 8 people be a deal breaker?

    • @MaggiesTwoCents
      @MaggiesTwoCents  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s totally personal preference! You could always split up into two groups for rides and make your reservations ahead of time. Quick service dining should be easy so long as you choose a place with a lot of seating!

    We have up to seven people going at a time so it’s a better deal for us to stay in a condo a few minutes from the park. Kitchen, laundry and plenty of room for all for much less than I’ve ever been quoted to stay on grounds. Also we rent a car for a good price and get groceries so we eat in the hotel breakfast, pack a lunch, and then buy dinner in the park. Maybe someday when just hubby and I go we will get to stay on grounds. But we still have a blast! Nice video- thank you. :). I could be wrong but I think I heard Disney just changed it so even people staying in the park now pay for parking. :(

    I usually love to stay at All Stars but on our last trip we ended up having to stay off site. I used VRBO and it turned out to be a great deal. There were eleven of us and I was footing most of the bill. We had multiple bathrooms and only two to a room. And there was kitchen and a pool. We did have to pay parking but it was still a deal. The travel time was not as long as I feared. This is a good option for a larger family or group. I've bought Hopper passes a few times but find that if you do that there is travel time from one park to another. Each park can easily fill up more than one day. And for those of us who live in Florida there are Florida Resident days which are another great deal. Like you said planning is very important for a Disney trip.

    Flying from Scotland as a family of 4(1 adult 3 kids ) it’s hard to get the cost below £6.5k for the two week duration, although this is flights,dining plan,resort and park tickets

    • @MaggiesTwoCents

      Yes, flights are unique to everyone and are really hard to be factored into a video that reaches a large number of people from so many places! Depending on your families needs, a dining plan could be an easy thing to skip and save some money without wasted credits, etc.!

    This falls under the luck of going when kids are not in school or on fall/spring break. Wish it was the case for us now! There were 3 park ticket options even when this was made (with or without water parks). I chose to not listen to my expert friends and not buy the park hopper. Half way thru our first vacation with kiddo, I realized how much more you can do by jumping parks and had to pay for the full trip to get. Still worth it, so I totally disagree with her tip on this one!

    My family is a member of some kinda hotel club were we can get a 7night 8day for $239 at a hotel outside the park with shuttle to park! Is that ok or do you really need to stay on property

    • @MaggiesTwoCents
      @MaggiesTwoCents  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it just depends on your budget and what works for your family. You definitely get more perks and convenience staying on property (i.e., free Disney specific transportation, extra magic hours in the parks, the ability to choose fast passes sooner, and being surrounded by the overall magic at all times!) BUT, our family has stayed off property loads of times to save a little extra money, and we loved it every time.

    Sorry but taking an hour at minimum to get the parks from the room door at the all star resorts is a no-go, not sitting down once to enjoy the amazing food at Disney resorts is a missed opportunity, and not getting park hopper is a rookie mistake. Full Disney experience cannot be done for under $1000 but it can be done under $1500 even with staying at yacht club

If you have the dining plan it is worth doing the table service option you save so much money you can see characters and if you are smart go to buffet table services to get the most out of your money

    • @crystalrose8210
      @crystalrose8210 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My friends ate at one everyday when they went. Not once were they happy. We ate at Rainforest which was awesome, but it just took too much time. Way too much time. It took almost 2 hours from check in to out. We ate at Akershus and Be Our guest. The food at Be Our guest was actually the worst meal I have ever eaten. Ever. They actually served my husband s plate of fat! Then forgot about us and by the time he got another plate, we were all done. I had to turn around a buy my kids lunch somewhere else because the soup was so watery it taste like...well warm water. I should also state that my kids love soup. They eat it out of a can and I think canned soup is gross. So that should tell you something. We never had issues with our counter service and is all we will do this time. I go to ride the rides and spend time enjoying myself. I didn't enjoy telling my kids we had to leave to try to make a dinner reservation somewhere else. To each their own.

      For two people from PDX to MCO right now around $800-$1000 I would guess it's usually around there and that's Portland Oregon to Orlando unless you get a airline credit card like Alaska airlines card that can give you a free ticket for the 2nd person cutting the price in half.
