    I am 77, have been a master bow technician, and staff shooter for Browning, High Country, and Bowtech, and done it all since 1972. I have watched your videos, and seen you grow from instructional shooting, to building your own company and bow line. Great job, and well deserved. You are, as stated, an inspiration to all archers/bowhunters. Congratulations, and continued success my friend. :-)

      Kudos to you sir for your service to the sport. At first I was watching Kramer show folks how to build a board bow with that fiberglass tape backing and although I was impressed with the bow and his skill, I kinda thought he's too bubbly (personality wise--I am a cynical grumpy guy) I gotta say I was kinda jealous too because I wanted to make bowmaking videos but I realized I have a fear of it. I respect your opinion because you know and you have experience. Some guys down below are criticizing the bow and they haven't even shot it. They really don't know what they are talking about. I just shot my "RD Bones" (52#@28") and it was a whole lotta fun!😁🧡 it shoots fast, super straight (accurate) and no friggin handshock (and it's gorgeous)...real sweet!!!!

    Hello. My name is Joseph. I am an Army Veteran.
    I watched my first video of big making from you since the Covid Quarantine began.
    Not only have you made ne confident to build a bow, you have mastered your craft to a commercial level while maintaining top quality.
    You began with making a basic bow, then began to try to bow EVERYTHING, went on to building more stronger and better recurve bow and so on to finding your niche in creating some amazing bows. The pencil bow was the funniest one.
    But now you are so good that you broke down the process to 5 steps to crating high quality bows that can sell easily off if shelves.
    You are in my top three of whom I have subscribed to. But now that you have made it from your home to a commercial shop is AMAZING. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ALL OF US BE A PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE.
    You make it look easy, even though it is not. And the way you have evolved your craft is one of the vest things I have been able to witness. Even if it is just on a TH-cam channel.
    So THANK YOU for existing and restoring my hope for my own life. Classic people like you keep me motivated to carry on!
    Have a great day. I hope all is well and you and your loved ones are safe.

      Kramer, I was almost one of the many people going to tell you how much you've inspired me to make my own bows but I couldn't help but notice that with all these people taking their time to comment encouraging words and tell you how inspiring you are, you still couldn't find the time to respond and at least say thank you? In a whole year? 😔

    Nice bow but what I don't like is the hinge like bending just after the fade-outs . With fiberglass, it may hold but you could have delamination between the fiberglass and the wood on the belly side . You need to have slightly thicker lamination there or a more pronounced deflex riser .

    I believe in you Kramer. I just got my "RD Bones" bow yesterday (52#@28"). What an awesome bow!!! I shot about 8 arrows yesterday in my back yard. What attracted me to this bow is that it is an osage riser and I have built several bows out of osage orange. I love the story of how you acquired this wood and made it into the "RD Bones". And, I appreciate your honesty in describing how you "stabilize" the wood (and we who know Osage, know the wood is unbelievably tough) and the "flaws" in the wood (which we know aren't weaknesses, they just add "character"). God bless your enterprise. My "RD Bones" is gorgeous, tough, and fast. And, thanks for the beautiful string, the wax, the bow sock, the fantastic storage tube, and the thank-you note for my business!!!!

      And I have a question you might be able to answer me.
      The question is: For how much money can you/ one sell good handmade bows?
      Because I am a carpenter from Germany and I should be able to build some really decent bows. On top of that I have a lot of fun making them.
      I really like your videos, please keep up the good work. I'm learning a lot from them.

    A little off topic for this video but I’m curious how much I could expect the bearpaw fiberglass backing to add poundage to a bow. To start off I want to buy a tillered board bow and back it and do the finish work but I’m curious how much draw weight that stuff actually adds so I can get an appropriate draw weight you finish bow and not end up way over where I want to be

    Have you made a micro bow? I have a nice short piece, under three feet, that I want to do. It'll be my first build.
    I live with dyslexia and erlin syndrome, I learned not to claim a disability, autoimmune disease or anything else because when you do you're giving said malfunction to control you. For instance when I first got diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis I said that I have them but my uncle heard me say that he suggested that I say I live with. Once I got the hang of it I noticed the pain levels dropped. I'll soon get reading glasses with colored lenses and I'm excited for it as I'll be able to pick up any book and read it. Up til now I've avoided reading books, don't get me wrong I would buy books and start reading but soon didn't know what I was reading. Erlin syndrome if you don't know causes words and numbers to float from one page to the other.

    Those hinge type things near the fade outs are making my nervous Kramer. Other than that it looks awesome

    • @stevedriscoll2539
      @stevedriscoll2539 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are not hinges. Hinges are weak spots where the wood is weak or too much wood has been removed. Look at two things: 1. Tim Baker's chapter about bow design in "Traditional Bowyer's Bible, vol. 1" . To be efficient and fast the materials of a bow have to be stressed, and with a self bow sometimes that is 95% the way to it's breaking point. However, look at Kramer's video where he draws one of these "RD Bones" bows to like 40", or more, and the bow doesn't break. 2. Why this bow is fast is because the way it's designed and tillered, it's properly stressed (possibly more near the fadeouts) but string angle is kept to a minimum at full draw; meaning the bow won't stack at full draw (and is efficient). I can attest additionally, this bow is sweet to shoot: fast and no handshock.

    • @mrdaveofdaveshire4047
      @mrdaveofdaveshire4047 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevedriscoll2539 yeah I suppose I didn't word it very well. I know they're technically not hinges, they just look like them to me, even though they are far from a hinge. I've seen the vid where he draws it back some ridiculous draw length and it doesn't snap. It's very impressive! I'm glad to here yours is shooting sweet. I've been on my bow making journey for about a year now and I love it, there's something primal about it, like I've done it in a past life lol I'd recommend it to anyone who's ever thought about it. Finally if my comment came across the wrong way, I hope this clarifies it a little. Kramer started me out building bows and I'll always be grateful to him.

    I have wondered if a limb would work where the fiberglass is the inner section, and the wood is on the outside?
    I have also thought is there a chance you are making more of a self--bow but one that uses the three pieces of fiberglass for the limbs? Like a standard self--bow but using more modern design for the limb protector just to have a more durable bow.

    If I win the bow, Make it a Right hand at Around 50 pounds for my brother so he can have a newer Bear Grizzly like bow in a reflex bow for hunting.
    His old Bear Grizzly has Messed up micro twisted limbs due to the Compound only guy who was selling his late father's old bow tested the original string on the bow backwards and made it so the bow has some limb twist that used to be mild until my brother had left an older string on the bow that every 3 days he would take off so it would not make the bow less poundage over time and turned the bow to a micro limb twist.

    Not trying to be that guy, but just about every video of yours that I've watched is you experimenting with bows and designs and they all end with moderate success at best, like you're still trying to figure it out and dial it in. It seems that doing production runs of bows at this point is putting the cart before the horse...

      I just got an "RD Bones" and it shoots great, and looks great. And he goes out of his way with shipping, packaging, and some extras that frankly, amazed me.

    Way to expensive for a bow that hasn’t proven itself yet…and it’s a huge clunky riser…needs to be refined quite a bit and you need to charge less until you get the kinks worked out of the look/design ( large clunky riser, huge sight window, and the pivot point on the limb is not tapered enough to make a smooth working limb…that’s a potential break point on your limb design for sure…too much of a hinge l…hope your warranty is good.
