What a game. This was the first time I ever saw Hawaii's qb. He is fierce. Did you see all those passes into triple coverage. Wow. I'm officially impressed.
Hawaii quarterback Cole McDonald passed for 493 yards and 4 touchdowns, and was named the Hawaii Bowl MVP. Cole should stay at Hawaii another year to improve his NFL Draft stock even more.
Cole just needs to cut down on his INTs and he'll be a legit NFL Draft prospect--so perhaps returning one more year should up his draft stock. While UH is losing most of their top receivers (Byrd, Ward, Sharsh), Smart stepped up big time in this bowl game, while freshmen Mardner and Victor should get better.
Curtis Rupp --- Most of the penalty calls were against Hawaii. Not to mention, BYU turned the ball over 3 times and missed a field goal. Plus, BYU defense did not show up. Furthermore, BYU should have ran on a 3rd and 2 to end this game or at least waste time on the clock. BYU deserved to lose this game.
@Curtis Rupp MAC refs. I feel like for once this game was actually pretty balanced on the calls. Favorable spots for both teams though... after Hawaii got shafted all year, nice to see it how it should be.
Odd how things turned as Boise State blew out Hawaii twice this season, but then BYU goes and beats Boise State. BYU loses to SDSU, but Hawaii beats SDSU. And lastly, Hawaii beats BYU in this bowl game. I just wished BSU did better in their bowl game against Washington as they were the only Pac-12 team that Hawaii lost to this season (Hawaii beat Arizona and Oregon State). So the only common denominator is Boise State, BYU and Hawaii all got beat pretty bad by Washington. Hopefully, one of us can beat U-Dub next season.

13:10 mark - 3rd and two. With one more first down, BYU would have won. Not sure why BYU chose to pass. It stopped the clock, and Hawaii got another chance. Hawaii was lucky to win. Their offense was not doing much at all in the second half. In the end, Hawaii did just enough to steal a win.

At 12:32 I think is the clip that needs a better angle. It looks good, but they (the refs) called it a miss. Maybe it wrapped around the pole. Definitely needs a camera on both end zones. I was at the game and from where I was sitting, I thought it was good (I’m a UH fan, but I always call it as I see it and to me, it looked good). Good game from both teams. I hope more fans come out for the 2020 season. 19,500 people attended a game (the number is rounded off because I can’t remember the exact number).
I was sitting by the band and when I looked at it, it looked like it hooked around the pole. On the video it looked like it was like the Boise vs Nevada 2010 field goal miss.
devin ching it was crazy right? You probably had a better angle from where I was. I was actually across from you to your right. In our section, we all said, “ah sh!t. There goes the game,” and when the refs called a miss field goal. I was actually stunned. I used to work the UH games as a photographer for the schools newspaper and this game is a game where I wish I had access to it to photograph it.
Back in 2007, the year that Hawaii went undefeated, Aloha Stadium wasn't sold out until the 10th or 11th game of the season. It hasn't been sold out since. Some blame traffic/parking issues, while others say many UH fans moved to the mainland (contiguous 48 states) because of the high cost of living here. So when there is talk of building a new football stadium for the Warriors to play in, they plan for a stadium that will only hold 30,000 instead of the 50,000 seats at Aloha Stadium, because the hardcore fanbase has shrunk.
@@kokoleka808 They still need a big stadium. Despite the location, a small stadium will hurt recruiting. Top star prospects want to play in large stadiums.
Zack Wilson is by far not the best player on BYU... that honor goes to Alefo Hifo.... NFL teams need to take a SERIOUS LOOK at him!!! He will make a good NFL kick/punter returner, and receiver, I firmly believe

@@RCHyperRacing From my seats it didn't look as close as it showed on the video. It definitely went around the upright and hooked in.
Hawai’i has a bowl game at home and their stadium is still only a quarter full smh.
And tickets couldve been had for $10 for endzone lower seats. Was at all but 1 home game this year, its sad to see Hawaii not support these guys.
HighOnHI not just the state but the school as well because I don’t even see a student section.
kokoleka808 it’s sad really. Hawaii has to go undefeated or go to the championship just for those seats to be filled.
@@kokoleka808 They still need a big stadium. Despite the location, a small stadium will hurt recruiting. Top star prospects want to play in large stadiums.
The Hawaii coach looks like he should be the coach for Brigham Young and the Brigham Young coach look like he should be the coach of Hawaii.
How do you not run the ball on 3rd & 2. You have been running the ball with ease and you could've killed another 45-50 secs
Hawaii.. best windmill hit of the year!!!
Quite the ball game!
Titans made a good pick after all
What a game
Bien merecido el triunfo hawaii. Felicidades!
de acuerdo!!
That field goal looked good to me!
Went around the post
@@ericweinhardt2238 didn't look that way to me
Apparently it did lol
Lol so they say
Hawaii bettors WYA💰💰💰💰
Thank the refs
Congrats hawaii on the win
If they get a legit defense that school would be unstoppable
Just what was it that won the game for Hawai'i?? Their never giving up in the game or poor play calling by BYU? The answer is YES.
Refs screwing up 3 major calls: sack/fumble called down, TD called a fumble, and FG called no good. 13 points for Hawaii on those calls.
Zack Wilson is by far not the best player on BYU... that honor goes to Alefo Hifo.... NFL teams need to take a SERIOUS LOOK at him!!! He will make a good NFL kick/punter returner, and receiver, I firmly believe
Congrats boyz
