Super amazing song. Way out of my league at the moment. Thank you for sharing part of your guitar journey. It also motivated me to try learn at least the chorus at a slower pace, but you made it sound achievable. Update: My friend: "It sounds like the song, except slow" 😂 Played it again. My friend: "Yes, now I hear it, it sounds like the warm up before he starts playing" 😂 My thoughts: I will take that considering I have only attempted this song a handful of times 😊 Andy, thank you for bringing this beautiful classic within my reach ❤️. I guess I just need to record it and play it double speed 😂. Otherwise I am going to just have to practice (going with both 😂😂😂). ❤ Update: finally getting this down. I did not think I could do this, so thank you, Andy. It is incredibly satisfying to play and very enjoyable. I cannot believe how much progress I have made nor what an amazing teacher you are. Thank you 😊❤️
Funny how life tends to come full circle. 5 years ago I picked up a guitar for the first time and watched and practiced with all of the TH-cam greats like you, Marty and Justin. Somewhere along the way I committed to lessons in real life, and stopped looking online for tips - I just practiced, hard. Now I’m combing through all these tutorials to beautiful songs that once seemed so impossible, and absolutely crushing them. There is a point in everyone’s guitar journey where things stop feeling impossible; it becomes, “I can learn this, if I want to,” rather than “I’ll never be able to do that.” So on the off chance some random learner out there is struggling and reads this, know that you will be able to play any song you want. Any chord you want. Any solo you want. Any riff. You will eventually know what scales are, what keys are, what intervals are, triads, etc. One step at a time. On the off chance Andy reads this, I’m sorry for not subscribing 5 years ago! But I’m subbed now 😂
Beautiful comment. I hope more people see it on their journey with guitar. I know a few years ago, this comment would've saved me many low points. Even now, it motivates me. Thank you.
Can’t quite understand why the em7 is fingered when it isn’t actually played. Is it just somewhere to rest your finger until the A is played, or if you want to strum the chord?
Great tutorial. Thanks for posting It seems the B on the 5th string is never actually played in the E7 chord despite the 1st finger being placed on it?
Nice tutorial. Minor point about the mutes, in his video Sting leaves the bass notes to ring out (so doesn't mute that string) which mirrors what we get on the album track, so I think he's doing all his muting with his fingers rather than with his palm?
Hello Sir, I am from India and recently came across your wonderful tutorial on ukulele. Could you please suggest a brand that serves the fabulous ukulele in the market? Looking forward to your response Sir. Thank you for helping out millions of people all across the world on their way to becoming an amazing artist.
I have a question about the Em7, it may be my fault but i dont get why it is used. Is it just me, because i play the open strings with the thumb and pinch and the one i am putting my left finger on isnt even played ?
Good luck in the lessons. They are the best. That is how I learned to play guitar. Nothing beats Andy's beginners course. I hope that you continue to grow in uour skill. It is worth all the practice and Andy makes it easy and fun. Keep going. I would love to hear an update that you are over the beginner stage.
Am I not seeing this right or do you not even play the string where you are holding the em7 on the first round, instead playing the E string then going on to the A chord?
Hi Andy i think you have missed a chord out betweem the Bm and the first E, i have watched your video and stings and the switch bewtween the two there seems to be a chord or are you playing all open strings, it looks likebyour going backbto the A before going back to the first E, im a beginner but have noticed this unless im misinterpretating the pattern, please could you help as i am really hoping to learn this version, thank you
Oh my, how many times I trying! Why are you not say about 4 string after bar and before E7? It's very important mate, 3 hour in hell😅 By the way thanks for lesson 🙏
Reupload with corrected on screen graphics. Sorry for the wait, hope you guys have fun playing this one!

Any chance of fields of gold? Another sting version
Back to her man by Damien Rice, please 🙏
Yo man its cool I love it but i think you messed some chords up there in the chart like bm7

This new format that you’re doing in your videos is absolutely amazing. Keep it up more songs at this at this level please.

You are amazing and will always be my teacher in my heart! 6 years now! You taught me how to play guitar!
Great to read, would love to see some videos of you playing! Do you have insta?

Is there a reason for holding down 2nd fret 5th string for the Em chord when you dont play that string at all during the picking pattern?
It's good for muting, it's easy to hit the open A if you don't have your finger there 😊.
Great tutorial. Thanks for posting

I clicked the thumbs up 👍 not only for the wonderful guitar lesson and song choice but for looking after Apollo! Thank you! 🎸 🐕 🇨🇦
I love that dog 💙 He's in his forever home now he's been adopted and he's super happy 😊
@@andycrowley That’s awesome! ❤️

I just learned your fingerstyle “something from nothing “ glad you did this because I thought maybe I should always rest my palm on the board!
Great teaching skills mate!🙏🎶🎸
how come you put your index finger on the second fret A string of the Em7 chord when your not hitting that string? thanks!
I noticed that as well. You can leave it off or place it on the E on the 4th string string.
Great video Andy. Just couldn't stop playing this song until I'd cracked it, which for me came within an hour. Now part of my song list. 👍
That's amazing, well done! 👏👏👏👏
Great lesson. Fast!!! Love it.❤
danke für das video❤👍

Practice, but maybe Andy can do a video on tips to help with these problems in a few different chords please. I hope you get it perfected soon.
I guess you don´t have to use the em7 but just in case you are strumming the chords it would still sound correct.
@@nunngabriel Ok Thank you!!!
🎉🎉 great great great
Love love love it!
Thank you friend
its so educated . well done:)

I recently saw Slash doing civil war on acoustic

Yes, that's how I interpreted it. It sounds wrong without the A added in.
Andy. Why hold the low B in the Em7 if you don't pluck the string?
I’m thinking the same thing
💜💜💜
Can we get a lower key version pleaseeeeeeeeeee
I’m begging you do some videos on some catfish songs love ur videos
Sure, which song?

I wonder why you chose this particular video? 😂😂😂
I must have watched that Sting video a million times….
Still don’t know how to play it….I must have been distracted.😂
@@AveiroDan I think all I’ve learnt is that the key it’s in certainly isn’t flat.
