Free Me is an absolutely amazing song. I am back and forth so many times on this. I've not stop listening to the Entire album non stop for nearly a month and can't get tired of it. It is so good my 10yr old son said "dad, this is such a good album, when did this come out? It sounds soooo good". Yeah. You guys did phenomenal
The overall sound of the album is so authentic and alive it's super well mixed and balanced, everything sits nicely in its place. So pleased you mentioned the 'Double Bass' bit in 'Was It All My Fault' it's one of my favourite moments in the entire album, love drum fills like that, there's also a similar fill in 'The Dark Of Me' going into the chorus before the drum breakdown. My top 3 right now are 'Why' > 'Was It All My Fault' > 'Tell Me' - Still can't believe I saw Red Giant at Newbury I hope to see another show this year at some point now I've got to know the songs/album.
As a song writer, yes. Your drumming is absolutely phenomenal. You are thoughtful and generally absolutely breathtaking in Melodatic and absolutely hard ass when you need it

John Joe, the happy drummer. Love this video. This is a Band's recording, the three of you, so good. I play the cd at least once a day, my fav has changed since Dave's clip, now I wait for "What you gonna do?" It's Red Giant and it also takes me back to Mr Green, Rory & later Gary Moore

Totally agree that the way you record is the best way to go for a rock band. The energy of the band playing together is so important. I think of a band like The Warning, they're a cool band with great players but their studio sound is a bit too perfect and doesn't have a live sound. Also agree one of the things I love about the album is it's loads of different styles and influences, varying from each track to the next. From the 60s to the 90s there's a rich amount of blues rock influences in there.
