57 years since we lifted the Holy Grail of hockey please Leafs win it just once in my lifetime the last time you guys won was three weeks before I was born in late May of 67 Wendel's hat trick in LA in the 93 semis was his best game ever as a Leaf. I remember that overtime goal by Lanny over the Islanders. The overtime goal in game 7 of the 93 Norris division semis I can remember screaming " LEAFS WIN LEAFS WIN " Sittler's 10-point night in Feb of 76 remember that game on a Saturday night on HNIC I was 8 turning 9 earlier that day I scored my first Hat Trick Dave Keon my all-time favorite Maple Leaf
For every Leaf fan brought to tears watching this video, i hope your lifetime includes the Leafs hoisting the Cup just once. Im not a Leafs fan, but after watching this amazing video and reading all the emotional comments; i close my eyes and smile thinking how true blue Leafs fans will react when it happens. Im thinking more tears.
How could they ever let you go, Tim? Your montages are the best, I've been watching them for many years. Hockey Night feels like an American production now with the constant ads, Studio, personalities etc. Oh I wish how we could go back to the old Hockey Night.
Watching this gives me goosebumps. I'm a proud, die hard fan of the Maple Leafs. I miss these HNIC montages. They always pumped me up for games. Thank you Tim, Merci!
Still my favourite hockey montage & song. Not a Leafs fan, but I grew up watching the Leafs in the 70s and early 80s with my dad and grandfather, who were both diehard fans. This brings back a lot of good memories. Not just the hockey, but the time we spent together Saturday nights.
Miss your montages it puts tears to my eyes knowing i wont see them on hnic anymore ): thanks for the all the memories and goosebumps on saturday ( crying while writing this)
+Robert Söderlind (HockeyWebCast) Thank you, that's very much appreciated! I think because of the logo, I just assumed it was you..looking closer, of course it isn't.
Hahaha! I love that clip in Don Cherry's Rock 'Em Sock 'Em of an extremely pissed off Pat Burns rushing to the glass partition to yell at the other coach and Don Cherry says "now don't read lips kids!" Thanks for this, you've got a new subscriber in me.
Thank you Brad! I've been doing some stuff for the NHL Alumni Association, but that's about it hockey wise these days, unfortunately. But you can find them on their social media channels.
Thanks Tim, I really miss you work on hockey night and the cbc days. The love/hate relationship with the leafs is a truly Canadian thing however for me its about loyalty and hope and shared memories of loved ones still here and gone. Continued success in all your endeavors and maybe Rogers will come to understand what HNIC really means to Canada.
Well put together video! Being a Bruins fan from Boston I have to say I appriciate like the Bruins the Leafs are part of an original 6. Not knocking the expansion teams but there is a sacred rivalry that is deep within all the 6 teams. Like Boston I know Toronto has gone through some real shake ups and years of frustration. You have had some greats that have played for you like we have to. It comes down tho the love of the game which all of us know. We put the players now off to the side and remember the former greats that battled years before and great coaches to. We also have loyal fans and ones who turn away when the team is not doing well. I have to say I am lucky to see the Bruins win the cup, I hope you guys get the opportunity to do it again in the future. Hoping also to visit your arena too!!
Beautiful piece of work, first time I've seen this. Probably because I haven't gone to a Leafs game in about 2 years, not working for a bank or Bay st. firm and not willing to fork out hundreds of $ for me and my boys to see a game. Nice if they showed something like this at a Marlies game, an affordable family event.
First of all thanks. I watch this now and again. It is so right on. Your work is art. If I ran the hockey broadcast at Sportsnet you'd be doing these every Saturday and throughout the playoffs. I watch these and it really is unbelievable than these are gone only to be replaced by another 5 minutes of talking heads. The talented don't always get their due. PS: Good song, The Lowest of the Low's first album is one I go back to all the time.
Tim - this is brilliant work! I film a couple of Toronto junior hockey teams - and one of them has a home rink in the old Maple Leaf Gardens (Mattamy Center now) - and I can visualize everything in your video - what history! The kids love this video.
Thank you! And yes! I updated it for the Centennial Classic and then after it. It's playing at the ACC again, and the online version will be out on the weekend.

Someone needs to start a petition to bring back these videos

I'm not a maple leafs fan. i don't love their fans. but damn, watching this makes me want the Leafs to get another cup.
It's a good thing you're not on the broadcast anymore Tim. God forbid the audience get goosebumps when HNIC begins!
The newer version you did for game seven was absolutely incredible
Tim, you're an absolute legend! Thank you for all your work and if you ever do another Hockey video we'll be here to be mesmerized yet again.
Thank you Brad! I've been doing some stuff for the NHL Alumni Association, but that's about it hockey wise these days, unfortunately. But you can find them on their social media channels.
Time for the yearly tradition of watching this before game 7. Hopefully this time its different 🤞
My family has more memories of montages..then games they aired prior!
That's awesome, thank you!!

Thank you! I really miss making these on a daily basis. Hopefully some more will come to be.
So beautiful. Watching this before the Centennial Classic was the emotional highlight of the day. Thank you.
Same here. Was at the game and cried through the whole montage.
I still watch this once and awhile 😂
Love this video. I truly believe they will make playoffs. And they going to surprise the hockey world. Go Leafs Go Fan since 85
This is pure genius. Thank you for Tim for your passion and creativity.

This is just the fucking greatest. Tim Thompson, you're a genius. Your montage to Gord's Nautical Disaster is the greatest fan video of all time.
Great video . Great song . Great Clips of a great team . Just one cup and this 48 yr old would be on top of the world . Go Leafs Go .
This video was shown at the Leafs Vs Blues game on Jan 2nd this year!
Love this Ron Hawkins and band! And a beautiful video of the history Tim Thompson! Just love it!!!!

Hi Tim...Great job as always. Boneheads at Rogers as usual. From Lorne at NT hockey.
Tim, you're the best! You should make a 2017 playoff/Leaf video :)
Thanks! I'm retooling this a bit, and it will play at game 3.
it was amazing at game 3 btw
thanks a lot!
gotta update the video and put up the one they show at the ACC! @Hockey Films by Tim Thompson
Yes! I updated the one the Leafs are showing. They are releasing it soon, so I'm waiting for the go-ahead before posting. Stay tuned!
Thank you! And yes! I updated it for the Centennial Classic and then after it. It's playing at the ACC again, and the online version will be out on the weekend.
Not a Leafs fan (Go Habs!), but Tim Thompson is the best. Nobody does these hockey montage vids like him! Good stuff.
remember satellite hotstove between the 2nd intermission?
Go Leafs Go
Doesn't...,Matter,...The Jersey!!!
I bleed Bl6ue and White I love this team always have and always will
Another Game 7 is about to start: "This time we will get it right"
Well, this comment aged pretty well.
Being from Montréal I must admit the Leafs have the best fans . They had such a mediocre team for so long and still supporting them .
watching this after the Matthews show against Ottawa gives me shivers. Do a leafs future one this season PLEASE!?
Rocket Richard rules and the Leafs drool (forever!)
Really on this video? Dick forever.
The rocket was good but your habs sick . The leafs will be the next canadian team team to win the cup . 1
