YESSS THE SPINES. I've been looking forward to this Omni for a while. This is the title that got me into DC Comics. Collected the singles, and now I'll have them in oversized format
I think it makes sense to not have issues 51 and 52 because they had nothing to do with this run and were mostly tie-ins to other series. What I wish they included was the Vibe miniseries by Johns and the few Justice League of America issues post-Johns.
I’m actually glad they didn’t include issues 51 and 52. To me, an omni should be a contained and tight story, and those two issues were completely out of place. I remember reading JL on single issue format and ended up selling those issues. Didn’t want em, didn’t need em.
I don't mind #51 and #52 being omitted, and was surprised they were announced as included in the first place. But it is yet another DC omni where the solicited content was wrong, and that's a worry...
I noticed that vol.1 and 2 were not made at the same printer, so it's kinda amazing that both spines are so perfectly aligned. Marvel can't even do that. I cringe everytime i look at my FF Hickman reprints

Have to admit I'm with the thematic omni collectors over the completionists, I'm actually glad it doesn't have 51 and 52. Wish Vibe was in there though.

Aside from the one issue of _Justice League_ that Omar suggests is before an issue of _Forever Evil_ when it should be after it, but yes, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well put together this pair of omnis have been given DC's usual error-strewn books.
And once again DC just destroys Marvel for dust jacket design and presentation. They might be hind on binding and numbers, but they consistently make sure these omnis look frikken fantastic.

Too nerve wracking, lol. I can't wait to complete my trade paperback to omnibus upgrade of this run. :) ...now they just need to release the Justice League vs. Suicide Squad book as a Deluxe Edition so the book heights can match up in Rebirth. :P
Geoff Johns’ JL run has a theme throughout: superheroes as gods and how they struggle as gods. It is not the usual Marvel approach to make superheroes more relatable, which I think is the reason why many readers did not give the credits this run rightfully deserves.
Hope the 'final days of Superman' storyarc gets collected in a different omni, or heck maybe we get a Tomasi Wonder Woman/Superman omni that could have it near the end.
Oh my am I excited. Thanks for the overview Omar. This is how you do big time superhero storytelling. Don't care about the last two issues. I was kinda hoping they would have had the rest of Justice League Of America in it since it did tie-in to Forever Evil. It's a Martian Manhunter and Stargirl story written by Matt Kindt. But no big deal it doesn't really add anything to the event. I just love Martian Manhunter. Really disappointed they didn't label these Omnis, "By Geoff Johns." This run is his and shows why he's the man. Forever Evil is my favorite event mini-series. Between DC and Marvel. The Darkseid War is Johns' best story. Period. And that dudes got a lot. Can't wait to get this. Now DC needs to follow this up with a Doomsday Clock Deluxe Edition to complete his tale. Take care and peace everyone.
Jeez I would love this both omnis but for us international collectors that rely on amazon, this huge omnis are hard to get. In my case, the shipping for this one would cost almost the price of the book itself. It is almos 8 pounds heavy!
Have not got this far into the N52 run, so this is all new for me. Kind of odd that the last two issues of the series have been removed. However, in an odd twist, I just got Action Comics: The Rebirth Deluxe Edition Vol. 1 from CGN a few weeks ago as part of their Nick & Dent sale.
I rarely buy stuff I haven’t read at least some of before, but I picked up Vol. 1 on a whim and enjoyed it enough that I pre-ordered this one. It’s in the mail and I’m looking forward to it!
Still have my original HC of Forever Evil signed by Finch. I guess it’s time to part w that It definitely blows that the final 2 issues aren’t included as I don’t know what other Omni they could be included in so it most likely means they will be orphaned
Dissapointed DC didnt do the folding spread page from Forever Evil 1 when they have done it well in other omnis. It also would have been great to include the FE issues of Lex Luthor, Bizarro, Black Manta and Black Adam to show their reasons for fighting against the Crime Syndicate

Finally! I think that 51 is a Robin story which I really enjoyed. I bought this specifically because that wasn't in dsrkseid war omnibus. Dammit. Omni means all. This isn't all of new 52 JL.
The New 52 Crime Syndicate is from Earth 3. They are not from Earth 2. They have NEVER been from Earth 2. That Grant Morrison comic is titled Earth 2, but the universe they hail from is not called Earth 2 because it’s the antimatter universe, and thus doesn’t get a name. Also the Grant Morrison versions are not the ones appearing in Forever Evil. It’s the rebooted versions.
I received my copy and the spine is much broader than the breadth of the actual content which is really odd. Very different from what I'm used to. I couldn't tell from your video Omar, but did you notice that with your copy as well?
It’s been a confusing plot point for the last 25 years. There weren’t really any alternative earths after Crisis on Infinite Earths (if you don’t count Hypertime). But Grant Morrison was allowed to re-envision DC’s Earth- Three in an OGN drawn by Frank Quitely called JLA: Earth 2. From that point on (until the New 52 in 2011) Earth 2 was used as the “counter-Earth” in DC stories. It wasn’t until the New 52 that the multiverse was fully reestablished and the Crime Syndicate was restored to Earth-3, as seen in this omnibus.
Hi, sorry my question is about Captain America and not Justice League ;-) Anyway, I have bought the Captain America: Winter Soldier OHC, collecting issues 1 to 11. And the Omnibus Vol.1 collects 1 to 25 and Vol.2: issues 25 to 42 I think. So my question is simply if there are OHCs following the Winter Soldier ?! Or if the only option to get more of Epting and Brubacker is through the Omnis ?! Thanks

I'm still not sure if I'm gonna get this or Vol. 1, especially since I already have the Forever Evil HC and the Darkseid War Omni. I have a few New 52 Omnis, but I've heard the era was just not so great overall. Thoughts, fellow Minties?
The New 52 was hit and miss. Some titles, like Justice League by Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello, Action Comics by Grant Morrison, Earth 2 by James Robinson, Animal Man by Jeff Lemire, and Batman and Swamp Thing by Scott Snyder really hit the ball out of the park. They were well-told stories with great art. Other titles, like Justice League International, Hawk & Dove, and many more were very two-dimensional. These two New 52 Omnibus volumes are worth the time to read and collect. I own the first volume and plan to get this second one.
What Jordan Fox said. I would also add Johns' Green Lantern (which he wrapped his whole run with issue 20) and his Aquaman and Batman And Robin By Tomasi and Gleeson. Charles Soule's Swamp Thing run doesn't get the love it deserves. There was a lot of great things in the New 52. It gets a unnecessary bad wrap. Sure it wasn't perfect but what comic launch is? There's good and bad and plenty of in between. The comic industry was becoming really stagnant and way too insular. The New 52 gave a much needed shot in the arm to comics. A reset of the DCU that could be undone (which it was to certain degrees like with all relaunches) with 52 new starting points. Batman #1 came out along Animal Man #1 and All Star Western #1. New directions with easy starting points. It was really exciting. It also pushed the other major publishers to step it up too. Image doubled down on doing high profile creator owned stories. Marvel launched Marvel Now the next year which was really great too. It needed to happen. Anyways try some titles out from that era, stick with the creators you like and the titles you've heard are good. Take care and peace everyone.

I haven't had a great time with pretty much every JL run after this one. Scott Snyder failed to impress. Both the Metal events were quite a bit mediocre too. Won't even bother reading Bendis's junk. Apologies for my harsh opinions, just keeping it reals.
So happy we didn't have to wait years for this like we did with Batman by Snyder vol 2.
