If it had incomparables gun mechanics it would be a fine ship, but the guns just feel so underwhelming despite the fact that they are the largest in the game
I get the comparison with the Incomparable, but they are quite different ships. Shiki is basically Yamato with bigger guns, it’s a traditional BB. Incomp is more of a battlecruiser (or even a cruiser frankly with that ridiculous concealment) that has big guns but is so fragile that you if you get caught broadside towards a BB you can get deleted in short order. It’s not just that you have a lower HP pool, but you also have very thin armour. The CIC stats put the Incomps belt at 280mm vs Shiki’s 406, and deck at 50 vs 130. I’ve found that the dispersion of both ships is very unpredictable. But because the Shiki is more of a traditional BB where you ideally want to be at range, it suffers much more from the inconsistent dispersion. At least with Incomparable, where you aren’t quite as far away and you can use your speed and concealment to close the distance and fire not just those ridiculously large guns but torps and secondaries too. Arguably something like the Slava would be a more direct comparison of a long range sniper - which has better dispersion and despite the lower calibre it feels like AP penetration is more consistent.
@@kardy12 I wasn’t trying for a direct comparison. I just picked a couple of ships that were light years ahead of Shikishima. Incomp is the obvious premium choice and I grabbed STV for a tech tree option. I would rather play Yamato over Shikishima just for the extra 3 guns and call it a day
@@TheSoulfire73 Fair enough! And yes, Yamato is definitely better. I kind of think the same applies to Incomp as well - St Vincent is just a much more consistent performer and gets the super heal to boot so you can practically print a new ship. I was lucky enough to get Incomp from one of those 1+1 crate deals they used to do, but after I ground the St Vincent I just don’t find much reason to use Incomp.
Hey SoulFire! How are you doing bro? About Shikishima, take a look of lenght and beam compairing Shiki with Yammy and you will see: they are the same hull. Shikishima represents the desire of the IJN of having the 51cm/45 gun on the Yamato class, Shinano and the 4th hull should be built with these guns. Yamato and Musashi chould get it too because the twin 510mm turret was designed to fit exactly on the same turret barbette as the triple 460mm turret fits. It also means that in case of the 510mm gun being a failure, they could put just four of that triple 460mm turrets on the A-150 hull (Satsuma as we have in game). About the Shiki's performance, for real bro, that ship just sucks. I don't know why but it almost seems biased for the british side. Tbh I already hate how false that british battlecruisers are with they armor and they precision being much better than what they were suposed to be. I tryed to get Shiki but the max amount times I pay for the sonar sweep are like 5.
@@TheSoulfire73 yeah they wanted bigger ships with bigger guns but the reality is that Yamato was such a huge ship that it was basically the biggest thing they could build, so before being able to build 300 metters long ships, they first wanted to get the best ship they could with the biggest guns that they could too (so here we get the Shikishima)
Im sorry my friend but you were aiming badly. First on that Annapolis you didnt aim for his turn when you can very clearly see that he was turning.Second you were aiming high and at the bow section of a cruiser at basically point blank range and complaining about no citadels and third you re complaining at a 100k+ dmg game with very little effort. Do you need to do 200k damage in a game to consider it a good ship 😂? This is a Yamato Hull with 510mm guns therefore it plays as a Yamato and it does excell at what Yamato does. 510mm guns means if you re not shooting at long range you actually need to aim for specific sections depending on the ship you re shooting at. Specially when you have APCS+. I recommend you to check penetration values on these guns.
@@pedrocastro4536 Fair points, here’s my thoughts…. Just trying to be honest with my opinion of the ship and how I play it. I’m trying to commentate the game while playing and I’m normally good about calling out poorly aimed shots like the one you mentioned. I know I said he was turning and I screwed that one up. I recorded 4 games with that ship. I thought it was the best one that highlighted the issues that I see with Shikishima. If I show one where I leave auto aim the whole time, I get a comment about that. This particular match, I used both on and off. As for the result of the game, I can casually put up 80k+ matches on every BB at tier X. Does that automatically make it a good ship? Not in my opinion. There are a number of more reliable ships at the tier, premium and tech tree.
Shiki got many shadownerfs, just like poor Kii.

Ok she has been shadownerfed, but If in the right hands it still works. Main issues is tier ten has changed alot. But shadownerfed really bad also.
