I respect this guy a lot.
Amazing songwriter who unashamedly lived the rock and roll dream we all secretly long for. Did all the drugs he wanted and was famous as fuck.
But...when the fame passed, and he got sober....he still wrote good music and actually grew into an even more likable guy.
He's easy to respect. Good guy.
This is one of the best interviews I've seen of Noel and the interviewer was very good! And I didn't know Noel could be so hilarious!
I love that he admits he's not a workaholic and he wants to bum around for a year, pisses me off when pop stars go on about how hard they work

Noel is hilarious. "... the lead singer of Oasis was obsessed with John Lennon to the point of lunacy."
His last story about buying a computer & that there is "nothing on the internet" reminded me of Karl Pilkington.

Honestly, one of the best interviews I have ever seen of Noel. And I don't mean it was the funniest or edgiest, but it was extremely honest and informative. The new album is great, and it was nice getting some good information behind the songs. The interviewer is miles ahead of most others out there.

@Karomarr AGAIN: NO. Liam came when there were ALREADY a band called Rain, and the singer was Chris Hutton. LIAM gave the name Oasis, from a poster he had seen, there was written "Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon".

@mancunianoasis man, Liam founded with the other three guys a band called THE RAIN. Noel really was the last one to join the band that would record Definitely Maybe, but 'Oasis' is a name suggested by the Chief, the guy that is being interviewed above our comments.
No Liam came up with the name. Not Noel.

I think it’s just because he’s been away from Manchester for so long. Liam puts it on a bit imo. Part of his ‘persona’.

If u watch a lot of Noel's interviews, as well as other members of Oasis when they talk about Noel, he comes across as being quite a loner with a fairly uneventful life outside of his music career. I think he's a very private person, he hardly ever talks about his personal life in interviews and as he mentions at 04:22 he doesn't feel the need to be in the public eye all the time. I've found him to be a bit of an enigma.....the image seems to be far removed from the real man.
it was 50/50- they wouldn't have got big without liam's distinctive voice either, so you could argue there's no need (although maybe he should show some recognition)
@Qtv No way. It was Liam that named Oasis and it was before Noel got there. But Oasis wasn't Oasis until the songs met the attitude. Noel was a founder of what Oasis was.
A thing isn't founded in the moment it is named. It is founded with the thing comes together. It like saying that someone that organised a charity from the ground up isn't a founder because someone named to foundation before they were brought in
