"Leave the best to last" - watched Peter M's, and Lizzie P's take on this before watching yours. Much more practical detail in this presentation, over the roller-coasters, quad bikes and Onewheel skateboards. Thankyou.
Great new camera, but now the one x2 batteries dont fit anymore as well as the external microphone adapter. So now you have to purchase all new accessoires.
What I’d like to see is how the protective “lens” accessory changes the output. My application would be mounted on a street/highway use and stones the get launched by other vehicles COULD impact the primary lens. Alternatively to the sticky lens, I’ve also considered the scuba case as a means of protecting from stones hitting the lens
Hi Stewart, Great review in fact I’ve ordered the X3 on the strength of this review. I’ve watched a lot of reviews on the X3 and the footage didn’t look half as good as yours so I’m a little nervous about if I’ve made the right decision as I was also considering the DJI Action 3 but liked the prospect of having 360 and single lens shooting on the X3
If you have a professional application for 360 footage and intend it to be viewed on larger screens then the 1" is worth it. For YT consumption, the X3 will get the job done.
I bought 360x3 few weeks ago..and watch several videos ..several videos..and 3;30 into the video was you showing how to edit the footage ..I been using the pone app..but this is a better choice for me at 53 my eyes are better suited for the iMac vs iPhone lol ..love your channel! Ty for showing the editing part in this video ,it was my oh man moment and learned something today to help me be better at the editing!
I really like the larger screen on the X3, I always struggle with my settings on the smaller X2 screen. This one feature alone could make it upgrade worthy for me. Great review Stewart, and thanks for sharing. Awesome footage in highlands.
Quick question, you mentioned the Dji mic. Everyone is talking about the adaptors to connect it directly to the camera. Isn't it a lot simpler to just record directly into the Dji, independent from the camera?
Nice review! This camera's settings so much easier to use with the new screen and interface. One of the tell tale giveaways that someone is using an invisible monopod is the one arm swinging while walking or running. I am trying to focus on keeping the free arm tucked in to my body more and it looks much more natural. 🇨🇦
9:15 is this used with the DJI mic? Was not mentioned. Thanks for sharing the shots! Image quality is much more clearer then most reviews I have seen and your explanations is spot on with the features.
Great review, but unfortunately the 4K quality did not convince me. If we take a look at e.g. 10:00min, artefacts and less sharpness, looks a little bit pulpy.
I was thinking of getting the 1 inch version, but I’m thinking this might be better. Any thoughts? Would be nice to see a comparison between the two cameras
Hello! I really appreciated your review. I just bought an X3 after selling the X2. From the first tests I notice an improvement in the general quality and in its management. I have already reported my, and I think many, proposals to Ista. First of all, the management through the smartphone should be separated from the continuous forms of advertising and usage proposals that take place when the app is opened. One thing are the demos and the proposals another is the use of the camera. I don't understand why Insta Studio doesn't have all the editing possibilities of the app version. Honestly, I don't find myself on the small screen. Too bad that the panoramic photos at maximum resolution are not in HDR mode even with only 5 exposures. I understand it will be the difficulty of handling large files. I find HDR video to be used with great care. Often, and especially on faces, the images appear too artificial and the shadows of the scene are "raised" in an unnatural way. But I haven't done any in-depth tests yet. Another thing is the disappointment of the incompatibility of the X2 batteries and charger on the X3. Variations of a few millimeters between the dimensions that do not allow for exchange. If you also want to send the request to Insta of my proposals it could, perhaps, be useful. I warmely greet you. Claudio Gi. Italy
That’s a great video to show this camera capabilities. I do have a question though. What settings were used for those 9 photos ( Raw +HDR) and how did you brackets those together to archive this great results?
Great review. I was considering buying the Action 3 camera but the Insta 360 X3 is a far more flexible camera. One question I do have. The Action 3 cam allows a wireless usbc mic directly into the usbc port. If the Insta 360 X3 has the same possibility, then I certainly will buy the Insta 360 X3. Do you have any info if that is possible? My wireless mic is the SmallRig W1-C which works great connected to my phone.
great review Stewart - ordered one and will be selling my x2 -agree fully that the new screen is a massive improvement. Can I ask you where exactly you were? Great scenery!
I've seen people use this with the DJI wireless Mic, but there isn't a proper mount for it at all.. Could you maybe experiment a little bit with these two and see if there is a decent way of using them both without it showing up in footage, and without the risk of it falling off?
Thanks, didn’t even know a x3 version was out or coming soon. Sadly its still stuck at 5.7k, its 2022…come on man, thats why I never pulled the trigger on a 360 camera up to this point.
To me the 360 comparison vs one X2 looks very much the same and no upgrade needed towards the X3. From a single lens mode, i would like to use a gopro instead. Why buying a 360 camera if you just use single lens mode? Then there are better solutions and tomorrow gopro will launch the gopro 11. So for a 360 camera the improvement is really almost not visible. Next as owner of the one x2, you would need to purchase all new accessories since nothing will fit the X3. So the purchase is a lot more then only the camera. Next Insta has not offered an attractive trade in for the One X2.....will wait until later this year, Gopro will launch the gopro max2. Lets see and wait what this camera will offer and improve for 360.
You foreigners are so annoying! Your voices are entirely too melodic and pleasant to listen too, you're way too prolific in the production of your content, you always seem to hit on something US creators miss... what the hell? All seriousness aside, Stuart, I really love your channel. You stay on top of things and don't try to sell me stuff; just tell it like it is, and that's a high point in TH-cam land! I respect your opinion and put you right up there with all the other annoying foreigners (Canadians... what a pain in the ass they are too...). Thank God we have people like Mr. Potato Head, Make. Art. Now, and Gerold (even if he *is* a bit Undone) who can counter your pleasing manner while still providing quality educational output. I'll keep watching you in spite of your superiority complex...😉 (Thank you for all the great info you and Alina provide!😆👍❤)
Ha! Thanks for the comment (and for making such illustrious comparisons!). It's hard to get the balance because as YouTubbers we obviously want the companies to send us products (and there's an unwritten assumption you're not going to say it's rubbish), but we also want to provide valuable feedback on the products because that's why people came to our channel in the first place. It's really good to know our efforts are appreciated...thank you!

He’s only gone and done the Scottish Highlands! What a place to put X3 to the test and INCREDIBLE results 👏
Insta360 you should send one to Norway, perfect scenery for your amazing Insta360 X3
sadly you cant buy and ship to Africa. Your site killed my dreams do something.
Stewart, This is an excellent review of the Insta360X3. I got one a few months ago and have learned a few things from your video. Thanks.
The best explanation for beginners I’ve yet seen, will be following you as I learn, thanks
Just ordered mine! This is one of the best reviews of the X3 that I've seen yet!
"Leave the best to last" - watched Peter M's, and Lizzie P's take on this before watching yours. Much more practical detail in this presentation, over the roller-coasters, quad bikes and Onewheel skateboards. Thankyou.
Thanks Steve! Yeah, I'm a bit too old to start putting wheels under my feet. What could possibly go wrong!
Great new camera, but now the one x2 batteries dont fit anymore as well as the external microphone adapter. So now you have to purchase all new accessoires.

Still looking for a reviewer to cover this
yeah same! I've just bought a X3, no Sticky or professional glass revuews around, only for the older x2 :(
Love your videos... just wish they weren't sponsored by Insta360...
Great review! Is this camera have better qualitty video or Go Pro 10?
You can use the latest Final Cut Pro voice isolation to REALLY make the voice good wualify

I have a new Insta360 X3 and appreciate the review.
For video quality alone, how much better would you say the 1” version is over the X3?
If you have a professional application for 360 footage and intend it to be viewed on larger screens then the 1" is worth it. For YT consumption, the X3 will get the job done.
@@DroneFilmGuide thank you. That’s what I gathered after watching many videos to compare. Thanks for the confirmation.

$O NEXT LEVEL!!! Fantastic vid as all ways bro
Incredible! Great updates on this guy. Great video

Thanks Ron!!
I liked my first insta 360 camera but found the editing app hard to work with. So sold it on and never had another

For sure! There are ways of trying to disguise it a bit!

What is the battery life on this camera compared to the x1 and x2 ?
What would you say was the best value for money ?
great quality video. thanks
Fantastic review as always!

Hey! Just so you know, the shot at 10:00 is a reframed 360 shot. The 4K single lens should perform better than this.
6:55 "no subject" or no substitute for knowing how to use your camera?
Nice!
Thanks Stewart!
Great review, thanks. So i come to the conclusion that the new insta isn't offering enough for upgrading from my one x2 👍
I was thinking of getting the 1 inch version, but I’m thinking this might be better. Any thoughts? Would be nice to see a comparison between the two cameras
Whats the best way to export from the app to my iPhone with the best Quality?

Sould i buy with it the 3 meters selfie stick or will the regular 120 cms be good enough?
Thanks for your great videos
I'm so conflicted between the X3 and 1 inch RS. I have the X2 but don't like the small screen. Any advice?
hdr dosnt lower the footage quality?

thankyou guys!

No, way! I won the opportunity to get scammed guys! I'm so lucky 😍
Insta360 ONE RS 1-INCH or INSTA360 X3 for real estate ?
Thanks, didn’t even know a x3 version was out or coming soon. Sadly its still stuck at 5.7k, its 2022…come on man, thats why I never pulled the trigger on a 360 camera up to this point.
Is it possible to make 360 4K 60 FPS videos in HDR mode?
Best video out there!!!🔥
Dang I just bought the X2 lol...great review & thanks....hope you got a photo of the rolling clouds coming over the mountains behind you at 6:54 😁👌
Well spotted. Indeed, have a nice timelapse!
@@DroneFilmGuide excellent, keep those amazing videos coming, all the best from Kelso 👍
Great video as always!. At 1:06 do you use the 3m extended selfie stick or the 120cm?
Thanks! That's the 3m selfie stick.
Another good review Stuart.
Sounds like it is actually a 1/2 inch Type sensor, not an actual one…Laurie NZ.
X3 or One X3?
very informative video
Compressed compressed!!
good concise review
great review, thanks mate!
Love it
