RIP Robert B. Sherman (December 19, 1925 - March 6, 2012), aged 86 And RIP Richard M. Sherman (June 12, 1928 - May 25, 2024), aged 95 You both will be remembered as legends.
@@PaulTesta at least their family member Robert Sherman jr is a composer and he just collaborated in one of the last musical film projects of theirs INKAS RAFERINKAS
Marry Poppins is one of my favorite Disney movies ever! The whimsical music of the Sherman Brothers really keeps the story along and keeps the magic aiming for the heart. It's hard to believe over 50 years have passed since that magical and joyous feature was released. RIP to Robert B. Sherman
Dang... Oscars these days have speeches... just dragging along about themeselves n names every single person including their cat.. back in the day u just got the award thanked the main person n headed back to ur seat.... the right way...
Richard Sherman should do a Disney music tribute at the next Academy Awards or at least sometime in the near future! That would be amazing and I know fans would really appreciate it!
Loooove how someone sneezed in audience and debbie says god bless you. Things like that just dont happen on oscarcasts today. Yes its hard to believe mancini lost this one but mary poppins is worthy too.
I've only seen the remake with Steve Martin which I thought was okay. I wasn't interested in seeing the old ones with Blake Edward. Except just a few years ago, Miss Andrews was planning to produce an animated reboot of the Pink Panther in memory of her husband Blake Edwards.
@@manuelorozco7760 : Sad. The first one is funny but the best Pink Panther movies were the first few sequels. Hilarious, goofy, clever movies! I love Steve Martin, but no one did that role like Peter Sellers.

They still got the dumb jokes from the hosts though.
Julie Andrews looks so happy they won. Very sweet moment.

Mary Poppins had great substantially original score.
Their stories were shown in the 2009 Disney documentary The Boys. I saw it on Disney Plus. Hope a Disney documentary movie wins an Oscar

Is this the real Sherman Brothers portrayed in "Saving Mr. Banks?"
Yes, it is!

Ben Malloy yep
+New Wave Studios that's right
Well, who else?
I am big Pink Panther fan for the music in the '64 film but Poppins had the original songs which helped push it to win that year!
Mary Poppins RULES!!!
I Know For Their Best Song To Win An Academy Award: Chim Chim Cherrie.
You just said it rules
Mary Poppins is ok, but Henry Mancini for "The Pink Panther" is a CLASSIC!!!
Wow that's the first time I've ever thought Debbie Reynolds looks hot

I have actually heard modern actors do the same during public interviews, etc.--just never during the Oscars. But I agree, Debbie was charming.
One of best Disney soundtracks! I love it so much. I have created a piano medley version of this masterpiece on my channel. 🎶
I totally agree: there should have been a tie!
