I clenched my teeth when one of the ladies confidently said she slapped a child not known to her because of spitting.
I absolutely don't condone such behaviour in children.
But some children exhibit certain behaviour not because they are poorly raised but have development struggles, autistic children tend to have that spitting behaviour.
What if that child who got slapped for spitting had a development delay?

We need to make more awareness about children with emotional and developmental needs.

My opinion is I as a parent create that community of other parents and neighbours. To know their parenting style and we as a community come to an agreement on the boundaries of disciplinary action.

Ladies ladies, love the conversations. I also am from the school of thought that a child is raised by the community. If they are out of the house, they are in the public so they will need to abide by the rules there. We have to raise socially acceptable human beings. Admiration or inspiration of one person to another should stem from one's value system. What do these people value? What have they been taught? It is not too early to teach children age-appropriate self-awareness and mindful behaviour. Or generally good things to look up to in people even their schoolmates, neighbours, etc. It has to be the responsibility of the parent to monitor what their children consume. Children can meet who they admire for mentorship and career guidance. Children are more likely to listen to the people they admire like celebrities or friends more than their parents. An admired character can tell a 6-year-old child not to wear skimpy outfits until they are 20 years and they will listen. They will always refer to that moment.

In today's society we have wall fences unlike us who were raised in boundless areas. Can the maid/guard at home also be part of the "village?" what are the boundaries of this village

You ladies really overshadowed Emily. I think you should be more structured to ensure everyone has a chance to speak. Also, the theme of the episode got lost in the banter. Too little of “it takes a village.” And too much of “how should parents deal with their children’s idols.”
