LOL....BTS rap line songs have so much word play in them and multiple meanings. Daechwita is actually part of a trilogy. First Daechwita, then Haegeum, and last Amygdala. Basically, SUGA/Agust D plays both the protagonist and antagonist in each of the mv's. In short, he is battling his different personas as SUGA, Agust D, and himself, Min Yoongi. His Agust D persona allows him to vent his anger and inner turmoil. The scar represents his inner struggles, but you'll understand that in the last mv Amygdala, which pretty profound, as he is sharing what he has dealt with in his life. SUGA has always been open about his past and struggles. It's very emotional for us, ARMY, who know his back story. Anyway, I highly recommend watching the explanation video of Daechwita by DKDKTV, which breaks down the lyrics. You'll be able to get a better idea of the songs meaning. It's a wow. Jimin and Jungkook are taekwondo black belts, Jimin also patcticed Kendo for at least 8 years. Suga as far as we know is a pro in basket but not in martial arts, though he learned the sword dance in 2-3 days.

*Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden.
*Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. This song is about him fighting against a part of himself. If you watch the other 2 parts Haegeum and Amygdala you'll see the middle and end of a story. With AgustD these songs are about his struggles with what he went through in his life and how he's had to overcome them to be a better person and who he is. Yes Jungkook is punching Jin in the beginning as AgustD ran into Jin and then Jin ran into Jungkook. Thank you for your reaction to it. Jungkook is the one who took martial arts when he was younger, AgustD did sword training for the part where he's doing the sword work.

@@swainmoneyy as long as you play the label intro and don’t try to monetize the reaction you should be able to play any BTS official music video from Hybe/Big Hit in full without running into copyright issues (Daechwita doesn’t have the intro because it’s not technically an official release).
Concert footage, official (DVD and streaming) documentaries, TV shows and their Japanese music videos can be more problematic due to licensing arrangements.

I love how Yoongi lifts his lip when he raps hard. This is the song that converted me to rap, well, BTS rap line rap anyway. Someone has said that Yoongi has done Taekwondo but I'm not sure about that. Jimin definitely has a black belt. That's Jin and Jungkook having a bust up after Jin knocks into Yoongi. Jin looks good with a beard. Watch DKDKTV's explanation video of this because there is a lot in there you need to understand. The picture of Bang PD they hold up is a version of one which JK drew.

Most people don't get the meaning of daechwita. It's actually a song that's sang when one is opposing the king that's why when they blind folded the normal boy suga from the village he started singing it and the slave that were kneeling started popping their heads. It means he challenge the king and offed him with the gun. The two suga's ain't the same people 1 is a king and the other one is a normal guy from the village opposing him. That's the story line. 😊

@@swainmoneyy It's called Daejanggeum and is the largest historical drama set in Korea. It's less than an hour drive outside of Seoul. It's really big, you only see a small portion of it in Daechwita. They were actually filming a drama on the day I visited!

South Korea has a large television and movie industry just like the US. Daechwita was filmed on a set called Yongin Daejanggeum Park in the city of Yongin in Gyeonggi province, South Korea. It is an outdoor film set owned by Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation - MBC. A lot of historical K-dramas and music videos have been filmed there. This set is a representation of a palace, not a temple.

Then Agust D shows up in the sedge hat, tells the butcher he's the new leader, and a nearby woman gets word to the Queen. Agust D and his boys get the car keys from the Queen or her court lady, and he goes & rolls in with the car. He's caught, but the executioner has loosened his ties. The King doing the sword dance is Agust D, not the black belt guy. The gun is a Colt c.1860 Army - just for ARMY! There's million tiny details here, every time I watch (many times!) I see more! Next one in the trilogy is Haegeum,,then Amygdala, and the whole story across all three makes a different kind of sense.

The mad King is the industry old guard. HAEGEUM societal barriers. Rebel street thug Suga kills the corrupt abusive cop Suga.
AMYGDALA is personal barriers/ blocks . Past Suga and present day Suga confront past traumas to overcome mental barriers.

Daechwita is a style of Korean military music that was often played to signify the arrival of the king.
This is part of a very important trilogy of Agust D songs. It starts with Daechwita, then Haegeum is next and AMYGDALA is the finale of the three.
In each video, he plays two versions of himself. A version himself that represents his past and the present.
For example in Daechwita, he is a greedy, bloodthirsty king. He wants the people to fear him and bow down to him. He throws his power around without care. He wants respect.
The second version of himself is a normal guy walking the streets. He doesn't need people to worship him cuz he knows he's the shit. He can talk the talk and walk the walk.
In the end, he kills the greedy version of himself (with minimal effort!).
You will see when you watch the other MV's how he portrays the two sides to himself.
Interesting fact about Daechwita - the beat of the song never changes. Yoongi changes how it sounds just by switching flows.
