Hrer the recorder is perfectly suited to the small orchestra sonority. It even eclipses the two solo violins in the listener"s mind !!
Really a beautiful performance. Even a piece like the 4th Brandenburg concerto, which I literally listened to thousands of times, sounded fresh and new. Bravi!!

Thrilliny! In a swoon of joy, tears of submissive joy. This Consort enveloped me with transcendence into the Bach "here and now", my senses fully open, light as a feather. If you have seen an early Christmas Tale by Dickens, right towards the end, Scrooge awakens and is besides himself that he is alive, that he can be the man he then wished to be; he was as the Catholic Church termed it, in Gaudia, ecstatic joy. Solis Consort transports us to this very love of life through JS Bach's sound. Thank you each and all for this precious gift, now timeless.

En el año 1954 mi padre copró un Philips tocadiscos en Alemania (vivímos en Madrid) y una decena de discos con música clásica y a partir de estos días cambió mi interés de comics a ésta musica de J.S. Bach (Conciertos de Brandenburg) que escuché cada domingo de morning till evening...!

This morning I saw this video for the first time and it’s been on repeat all day, I specially can’t get enough of Vivaldi’s Sovvente I’ll sole, it has to be the very best version of it out there. That young man has a very beautiful and special voice. What a wonderful group of musicians they make me feel so glad that I have ears to hear😊
Eszter Gyüdis Stimme ist wirklich schön, so saubere Sopranstimmen hört man selten. Schade, dass ihre Liebe eher nicht bei Barockmusik zu liegen scheint.

The harpsichord needs to be amplified in the 5th Brandenburg. It’s part is drowned out. I guess the harpsichordist got the best seat. I can imagine Bach improvising at the keyboard and receiving uproarious applause at the end of the first movement.

It's utterly fine, but not quite ponderous enough. Seems a little too 'modern' to me slightly. Its not BPM, its a mix of instruments chosen and recording tech choices, maybe ?
Probably a call by the conductor ? Performers are certainly able enough. A little struggle blended in adds to the feel actually...
Just my observation, it's art its about the perception it makes in your mind I suppose.
Vocal at 18:XX however, is perfect, wow.
How the violins are miked, is possibly the smallish problem. They wave fronts should meet in air, not in the mixing board semiconductors. 4th order Gain-Bandwidth non-linearity's
Hmmm, gets better and better as it progresses. I should have waited beyond first movement. Ahh oh well...
