This is so convoluted it’s insane. Very simple answer is have the biologists do the math on sustainable harvest within given game zones and set a tag limit. Why does Alaska make this so complicated?
Yes, it isn't very clear to say the least. I know I passed up a lot of bulls for not being sure. Since I hunt alone, most of my time living in Alaska when I even had time to go hunt. That time of year is very busy for pilots. I would choose to hunt Skika Black Tail Deer. I can handle those myself without much issue. One or two was plenty of venison for me. Most years I never had the time, Some posts say you should not hunt at all, I guess they never walked into a grocery store is say, Bethel, you think food prices are high right now and they are, in the lower 48 it double in Alaska for starters on the road system and gets more and more expensive the further you have to haul it, Some areas see more pressure than others.
ONLY in the province of BC ... you have to count and measure the tines before shooting the game animal. ONLY in BC does a regulation count tines only on one side... Only in BC can a hunter harvest a big game animal which a tines cannot be wider that one inch one inch measure down from the tip of the tines... ONLY IN BC Soooo when do you know to shoot...?
A Game and fish department doing something foolish and not listening to the people who pay for their department? Big surprise, happens all over the US...After watching the video, I'm even more confused...
Some moose NEVVVVVVVVEEEEERRR EVER grow more than 2 brow tines NOR WILL THEY EVER have a width or wider than 50 inches..NOR will the ever grow more than ten tines... Soooo what ...
@@eugenepak8732 You don't know what you are talking about, how easy is it to tell if it has a 49.5 in spread, or a legal 50 in spread, and yes they will bust you if under 50
This is a poorly written and thus narrated explanation, repetitive, convoluted, and confusing. "It is best viewed from the front...and other angles." Well done. It is best viewed from best viewed. Measure it before you shoot it. Make sure you can see all the points, but cows that don't have antlers are difficult to tell from bulls that do. Please ask the moose to stand still so you can measure him before retreating to shoot it.
I don't care if it is legal or illegal. There are too many hunters and you guys don't know how many moose out there. If they end up extinct, then you would wonder why. Yall are just evil. Evil destroys things.

Very informative thanks!
The 50 in. 4 brow tines rule is insane,
In Alberta..they have a draw system...it the animal has antlers...it is a Legal bull. The hunter has then the choice to shoot or not
The way it should be
Yep
Tons of moose is left to rot, because of this stupid rule
How true...
The more complicated the rules make it, the more likely mistakes will be made, the more hunters will be frustrated and the more meat will be wasted!
The more complicated the rules, the more Moose are conserved. Ignorance is not an excuse

This has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I wonder how many people shoot the damn moose and then pray that they don't get caught.

Almost impossible to tell if it's legal or not until after you shoot it
Not true at all...

It’s a dumb rule ,
