It is insane to me that this man was thought of as the villain of Adesanya’s story. The reality is that he is the hero that the UFC needed.
Alex is the epitome of what it means to be a real man. He holds people accountable for their words and actions, but he never a loose cannon on the mic. He is loving to those who need it. It is not weak for a man to cry, but it is weak for a man to be a crybaby. Alex showed that here.
My cousin a casual "MMA is boring and boxing is real fighting" fan told me he didn't like Pereira and I didn't believe him until i looked up how the media portrayed him. I had to change his mind. Same with Jimmy Butler, I lived in Illinois for the entirety of his CHI career and didn't realize NBA twitter hated him.
You could almost see the moment Alex started thinking this could very well be one of his own sons when he was shaving that guy's head. Both are warriors in their own right. 😥💗

Alex looked visibly shaken. It seems very difficult for him to be confronted with the suffering of these children. His presence brought a smile to their faces, and that is the most important thing.
Yeah, especially when he saw his sons in place of that kid. He realized that he could easily be watching his sons go through that.
Very emotional thing to watch.
As he explained later it wasn’t the sadness that got him but how happy and positive they were despite their misfortune. I think it struck him emotionally. Poatan is seeming not only to be very intelligent and articulate as I knew but also emotionally developed and is able to relate. What a warrior CHAMA🔥
I think it's really cus he values his children over everything and the thought of somebody else having pain and is young, hurts him. It reminds us of how life can be.
I cried so hard watching that kid have to lose his hair due to him having cancer , but to still have a genuine smile. It made me thank God for my health and also made me feel stupid for ever complaining about the little things. Whenever you think you have it hard , there is always somebody else who has it harder...

Plus he started a brawl after the Conor fight when he could have used that moment to speak to the world about forgiveness..but he didnt..he choice violence. My mom has blood cancer
And my granddad just died last month. I lived with him for 5 years taking care of him.
He had cancer, intestinal cancer which later spread to the prostate. Strong old man suffered for 5 years before he passed. He was "too old" to get therapy according to the health care.

I worked in a children's hospital on the oncology floor, and it's a different type of sadness you feel watching children and babies even suffering through the treatments. It's not like a regular oncology ward, where all the patients have already lived out their long lives and this is to be expected. The heartbreak is palpable. Some parents handle it better than others. Some stop visiting their children everyday bc they can't bear the pain of watching their innocent child be tormented. It takes a special kind of person to be able to enter this environment every day and not eventually break. I was not one of those people who could. But there are many unsung heroes who keep doing it day after day, and they deserve to be celebrated ❤️
You have my utmost respect for the work that you've done helping those kids.

A maioria dos jogadores da época não eram profissionais desde criança como hoje em dia na maioria dos casos... I am going through cancer AML treatment now at City of Hope and this touched my heart and soul deeply. Sometimes we are blessed to witness greatness in our lives in any given sport. However, it is rare when you get both a once in a lifetime fighter and a better human being. I love this guy.

I always heard about Pereira from glory then he stepped into the octagon and I immediately took a liking to him where many others didn't. The mythical warrior people had mixed feelings about and he had a pretty private life at the time so no one really new his character and the story he came into the UFC with was all about the rivalry with Adesanya .. many people loved Izzy and because Alex was different and Izzy was the people's champ he got a lot of hate in the beginning but after seeing what I just saw I don't care what anyone ever says again this man is who I want to be like who I'd like my child to turn out like ... He is a gentle but deadly warrior with the biggest heart... I have never seen him disrespect any other fighter ore or post fight I have never seen him speak badly about anyone or company or business entity and the cherry ontop is he has never even spoken I'll of his ex fiance who was actually still married which I'm sure broke him and the cream on the cherry when he dates polyana and people know that the split was so sudden something really crazy must have happened but he hasn't said anything I'll about her either ... People trash him all the time speak shit about him and he doesn't advance on the provocation he just moves along with his business... What this man has been through I'd expect a hard man with a stone heart but the emotions that came from him today show us that his connection with reality is strong and he feels just the way we do but he takes time out to go and be the hero people vision him to be... This man is the real deal... He is a killer in the cage yet a perfect gentleman when it comes to everything else... Thanks for this. Lost my dad to cancer 20 years ago and I was never the same after. That kid has more belief in himself than I do and I don't even have a problem like him! Be thankful. Anything can happen. Life is too short. Don't waste your day. Be like this kid like Alex, be brave and go get what you want. It's never too late. I'm 37 and going back to school! I think I will volunteer at a place like this. Also check low carb diets for cancer...
