    I struggled so hard then I did a mix of succulent soil, pumice, orchid bark, worm castings, coco cor, charcoal and I finally became a good peperomia Mom.

    Omg this exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago!!!!! I overwatered so all the petioles and leaves became extremely soft and just fell on the side like completely dead!!! (Looked way worse than urs) I thought it’s going to die for sure but after changing the soil and let it dry out completely for 10 days and then bottom watering it it came back to life the next day!!!

      Shimoncz lmao sounds like I didn’t need to chop up my plant after all 🤦🏼‍♀️ at least I have a piece of it potted 😂

      Did you water it after reporting or let it stay dry?

    You should try to put him in a smaller pot! They love to be root-bound.

      Your right on that
      They love being root bound

    Try cutting a couple of leaves in half while they are rooting....it lightens the load for the plant and allows more energy for roots if it has less foliage to try and keep alive. Ur main plant didn’t seem too bad....she looked stressed. Likely from handling. They can take a month to recover and stand back up. When I repot this type plant, I bury it a little further than I usually would since the stems are fleshy and can root separate from the main root ball....I would set it away from direct light and not water it for a good two weeks.... til the soil pulls away from the sides of the pot OR after a “dry” reading on a hydrometer for 4 days straight.
    Repotting this guy is like....”okay, u want me to start over....I’ll show you”. 🤦‍♀️😂 off come the leaves until there’s only a few sad stems left and to doing that to conserve energy. With ones that have leaves so big I have also cut most stems off and left only 5-6 attached to the main root ball....and then cut 2 of those in half to help even more.
    ur not as much worried about the sight of it at this point as u are saving it....so ensuring it has more energy to spend on its feet is first priority.
    Good luck! Ur plants are beautiful!
    OH!!! Be sure the Peperomia is not near an air vent. They hate sudden temp changes ;)

      BamaMom0225 thank you so much for the tips 😭😭🙏🏼 I’m definitely gonna cut some leaves in half & let her bounce back! Hopefully in a month she’ll be happy again 🥰

    My peace lillies with huge happy leaves suddenly started declining like this. I also tried adjusting location, light, I changed the soil like you did. I leached the soil, I pulled the plant out of the pot and kept in newspaper to help it drain/air out, I put the rootball in a fan to help it dry out. I tried poking a skewer in the dirt to let air in. Any video or technique i could find i tried. It continued declining over a week, just limp.
    Nothing helped until I tried a dilute hydrogen peroxide solution around the edges of the pot and new soil. It was hissing/bubbling, i felt like the plant was crying to me, like how could you do this, Im melting, what a wicked world etc. lol. but anyway, after an hour I rinsed regular water over the soil, and let it drain. It finally stopped further declining. it is still recovering, Its been 10 days and its stable now, off life support, but at least it didnt die. I have had them for months, no changes in environment. I don't know if I over watered and there was root rot, or a virus, or the cat put a hex on them. But the H2O2 saved them.

    I know how you feel, but maybe it's the potting soil, my plants DO NOT like miracle grow, my grandmother swore by Black Magic potting soil, so do I, it's really good

  • @BSG0005
    @BSG0005 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The same thing happened to me. All my stems fell off one by one even though the roots were fine. It’s stem rot from top watering. It’s best to bottom water peperomias.

    • @zenorabariella4359

      Fungus gnats

    • @Ash-iv9hx
      @Ash-iv9hx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just holds on to water too much. So it’s likely your plant will die from the soil not drying out as soon as it should

    • @sawtootheyes523
      @sawtootheyes523 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ash...well i am a 60 year old and i have never had problems with miracle grow, i grow indoor and outdoor plants, for food,for flowers, and for looks! Never had any problems...soooo, whats everyones problems or issues? It is not water retention, lots of plants need that, its not being too dry, lots of plants need that also! Miracle grow has been a great soil and i have been using it for several decades with great success! So my plants have not suffered from being too wet or too dry! Maybe it has more to do with how much attention you pay to your plants?

      I just got the plant last week. It is rather small with only 4 leaves. I heard it grows into a full size plant in about 6 months. I'm taking good care of it, so hopefully it will thrive.

      From my experience, they infest the plants with fungus gnats. The standard mix, moisture control, and cactus/ succulent mix all have gnats.
