The reason you weren't healing near the end there was because shapeshifting into a mouse and unshapeshifting converted all of your damage (including your burn damage) into brute damage. You needed to chug brute meds instead of burn meds.
He also had massive bloodloss. Bloodloss not only sneaks up on you, but it's such a bitch to fix if you don't have access to a blood bag or a ton of iron.
@@random_dude9052 That will only slow the bleeding, not fully stop it unless the cuts are classified as "moderate" or "severe". Cuts classified as "critical" will always bleed and require surgery to mend. The problem I was describing also isn't bloodloss specifically, it's the effects of low blood supply. Blood regenerates very slowly, which is why you need access to Medbay's blood packs, or consume Iron to speed up the slow regeneration somewhat. It's one of the most annoying root causes for surgeons to fix because once you run out of bloodpacks, you're kinda S.O.L. for speedy recoveries (saline from the chemists helps immensely, which is why I always dash to the chem dispensers to make a ton). It's also annoying because it's very, very easy for novice surgeons to miss as being the root cause of someone's medical problems, and I've had a lot of people come back to Medbay (or people you just revived immediately die suddenly over and over) because their surgeon didn't see that the issue was bloodloss.

Problem of sec is because of how long it takes to write what you want to say and you can't both talk and move at the same time, you'll always be forced to shoot first, ask questions later. Don't pick on them for it, at least as long as they're trying to cause as little harm as possible while arresting you, outside of some roleplay-centric servers few antags are willing to play coy for the time to at least let the officer play his part and try to surprise-handcuff them before it goes to chasing.

The few times I played as sec I often played dumb and friendly on the suspects reported and eventually when the HoS gave the go I snuck in my baton between lines, even swapped out to more friendly colours in servers where they have the blue sec uniform. Of course most of the times when station ending threats were on station I was among the first to buckle over, partly because I'm not really robust but mostly due to me freezing up and trying to understand who exactly among the mass of writhing pixels is the valid and who would get me lynched to no end if I accidentally hit, at which point I'm already bleeding out. The only times I truly had fun as a sec officer were: 1. During a traitor round, when I befriended the chaplain who just so happened to be the traitor and I used his trust to try and cuff him on the spot while talking to him, while a buddy was guarding the hallway in case he escaped, which he did and didn't last for more than 5 seconds. I read his rights and all, I really felt like I was playing as a security officer; 2. In a colony/solar flare event when I managed to keep the peace among the chaos stopping two from going at each other, a greytider putting walls where they weren't supposed to put walls in the 1-wide corridors of the mining station and lastly pushed back the ashwalkers when they decided to start stabbing after applying some riot control, which was the only time I felt the riot shield was in any way useful. My lowest point in valid hunting was when I was acting captain in a nosec lowpop round. A traitor was running around in maint causing trouble and my only source of information was a very annoying and unreliable AI, I went on a wild goose chase for them while going on loose information which ended with two wrongful arrests, one of them dying, because tiders have no concept of staying out of maint when someone's setting it on fire and using the same place to run and hide away. The AI, apparently a regular on the station, shifted blame entirely on me despite my trusting the descriptions it provided and locking down the areas it told me to check and the entire station kept on lynching me in common until the shuttle was called and promptly bombed because I stopped caring. That round is one of the events which eventually had me go on a long and still ongoing break, it only comes rarely for me to have fun and the only jobs which offer a different experience each time like sec are twice more likely to discourage you further than to offer you some entertainment.

We actually manage do do our job, actually stoping all the antags admins sic on us, and in the global ooc have the shitters talking shit on us. Told him I was trying to stop the fight in general and he just goes "huh really?". Ppl just want to treat the game like GTA in some servers and there's nothing you can do. My only advice is to either get more robust, I'm planning on maining miner for a while myself, or just play goon. Players tend to be a bit more obliging from what I've seen, plus you can give ppl swirlies and it's a lot more rp oriented without being hrp. So that's epic.

Maybe when you revive, you can mind swap with one of the other crew members to cause even more confusion among the mayhem.
