Dan you are not alone I felt your anxiety when you drive a manual, I'm the same. All you got to do is ignore whatever driver is waiting for a spot to park because I panic. My mum always told me to forget about whoever is around & just relax stay calm. It's a lot harder when you are not used to it. You got this. I'm going 3 minutes into the vlog.
I laughed when you were talking about the roads. When we lived in Germany we were told that a lot of the roads were just paved over animal trails. Driving on them, that made a lot of sense. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

I share your hatred of starting up a hill with a manual car. I always felt I would roll back and hit the car behind me. Kind of funny because I learned to love driving a 4 on the floor, and could even double clutch when really zooming around. My husband restored Mustangs, and therefore my nickname was Mustang Sally. Yahoo!!

Oh, how I miss my 5 speed Subaru ❤. I used to love driving manual, but as I got older I got lazy or something! I can’t wait to see the new duds!! The drone footage was epic today‼️
It is really hard going to manual when you have driven automatic. My husband is disabled so we have had an automatic for years now, but in that time I had to move my sons car and it is manual, so I really had to remind myself how I worked the gears! lol You did great Dan and loved the trousers x
Dan in Italy we have a manual gearbox because automatic cars cost a lot. Automatic transmission is usually found on more expensive cars. Try the pizza with buffalo mozzarella it is fantastic.
The first time I drove in a standard shift car I had my father in the passenger seat and he loved to tell me what I was doing wrong and I had a hard time getting it to going after I stopped at a 4 way stop light I was about to cry and turn around and take it back to the car lot before I even made it home. So you done good Daniel.

Daniel, the same thing happens to me when I haven't driven a manual for a while. Don't feel bad. I learned to drive a manual in the early 70's. A boyfriend taught me on his Mach 1 mustang. I dang near burnt his clutch up. Needless to say he called me everything but a white woman...hahahaha
I had to learn to drive standard in a when I was 18 and I live in the hills! Yup nuts! But I did it. And the car I had was old do it was hard to find the gears. Yup crazy! Did it feel strange to go out and by clothes when you haven’t done that in months? Good job Daniel.
I'm use to driving a stick shift I had a Volkswagen for years but I understand your anxiety my first time I had anxiety was In San Francisco when I was new at it I was on a steep hill stopped at light I kept rolling backwards when trying to let the clutch off I was crying because I knew I was going to hit the cable car behind me I was never so glad to get out of there lol after that I had a few years experience and it was nothing after that lol 😆 Italy is so beautiful I ate so much pizza 🍕 and pasta too its different than our pizza in America
Here in Italy and Europe we love manuals, they require some skill and they make you much more connected to the car (especially if you’re a car enthusiast like me), automatics are just boring to me… driving one feels like cheating in a videogame to me ahah

I would also have to surrender. I would stall just starting the vehicle. We don’t tend to learn standard in the US
