Nicole Rankin Zooey is so Jess, but with a little less nerdiness and awkwardness. Jake is pretty Nick, but is much more mature and well-spoken. Also, he's not an alcoholic.
That means that they're not so good at acting. For me Jake is the best actor among all of them, with Max. Anyway I loved all the seasons and I really like them all
Winston was the funniest character on the show, even in one-liners he could steal an entire episode. It’s like they just tried to pack too much into it. There’s not enough room for them all to shine enough, which is sad cuz this was such a talented cast.
I like that people love Winston now. I have only watched the first two seasons so far, and it seems to be Schmidt's show with Winston's being the least fleshed out
I knew from the first episode that nick and jess were gonna get together and when they did I was like whatt but I guess it was subconsciously there chemistry
“Don’t touch him. Don’t touch him, don’t look at him don’t touch him” wow they really didn’t want to give the fan girls anything to go off of😂 well actually, “the fan girls” are me. And I went crazy every time they glanced at each other
**spoiler**I actually think they lost chemistry in the 6th season. The first time they hook up was mega 🔥. Season 6 seemed forced between them. I was more in for cece and Schmitts relationship.
@@asgardianof_thegalaxy9509 Season 6 was supposed to be the final season and they produced it so that it could be the finale in case a seventh and final season didn’t happen.
Am I the only one wondering why they won't just let the actors talk about their own chemistry? I mean, sure the writers give them words, but the rest is all Jake and Zoey giving outstanding performances. I didn't want to hear how the creators "made them", I wanted to hear how Jake and Zoey got along and played off each other on set.
I feel like most sitcoms have their casting choices based on the actors actual character traits, plus some of them go on for so long that its almost inevitable, and some actors are just essentially close to the persona they interpret I.e Schmitt
Alright, got to say the following, and I know I will be attacked by some troll. Jake Johnson looks so bored while Zooey Deschanel is talking about her role. And Lamorne Morris is getting almost zero questions. He is a vastly underrated comic talent. The producers did develop his character, however, so they deserve credit for it.
Jake Johnson has said in the interview he did with Sam Jones that he always prefers the spotlight to be on someone else while he supports them, or "costarring" as he called it. He has also said that he's particularly disinterested in promos and interviews where they talk about him. He's actually a very serious guy irl, still very interesting though.
@@elliinspace I agree, also he doesn't look bored, he looks uncomfortable bc they were talking about him and Zooey's chemistry while his wife was probably watching lol
when I watched new girl the first time I wasn't really into the show and tbh barely remember watching it but I've watched it recently and I don't understand how I wasn't into it and I also don't understand how I didnt see the chemistry bc now I watch ship videos and theyre literally the IDEAL couple and I absolutely LOVE Jake and zooey's on and offset chemistry
I was the same. I'm sure I watchEd a season or two and remember liking it but rewatched it a few months ago and couldn't stop. What a great show. Sad it ended 😢
On my third run through the series. 1- for the laughs. 2- for character deep dive. 3- pick out clues to story lines development, cultural crumbs, guests effects on series. The first clue on Nick and Jess was when she walked into the loft the first time. Nick changed character, instantly.
Just a reminder: actors are actors they may share similarities with their characters and relationships but they are humans with their own personalities
They are so adorable...exactly like in the series 😍😍 On screen off screen chemistry awesomeee 🥰🥰 love the new girl cast 🤩 Jess Nick chemistry is the bestttttt😃
The one thing I would critique about the show was that season 7 was too short and I wanted more eps with them all married and maybe the finale with them all in that flash forward
me when im lying: we fought against [the zooey and jake chemistry in s1] literally it was SO CLEAR in the WRITING and EDITING and they were fooling NOBODY
Omg thats so cool tho :’) they saw their chemsitrt and made it happen dammmit How r they not a couple like oh my god.. nick and jess r one of the if not THE MOST. So no one is gonna address Jooey comparing their chemistry with Cheers' Sam and Joanne possibly concluding in dr Sam hooking up with his old med school friend Joanne??
people always comment on these guys and like parks&rec and the office cast members as being exactly the same as the characters they play but like that's not a good thing??? i love them but it's not a huge compliment to say actors are essentially just saying lines in their exact personalities
THEY ARE LITERALLY THE SAME IN REALITY AS THEY ARE IN THE SHOW!?!?! I DIDNT KNOW THIS WAS POSSIBLE.
Why? Clooney and Pitt play the same characters in every movie....
I'm living for the fact that they are basically playing themselves
They aren’t their characters, their characters are them 😂🤯
GamersTwins 840 yesss I can't even watch when there not together I just get sad
and angry 😊🤔😣
Most tv sitcoms try to make the characters similar to the actors. Make the job easier and funnier
I can't believe they actually fought their chemistry in S1 like I've had the feeling they were endgame since the pilot. And that wedding episode!!!
Ikr
definitely omg i literally can't imagine what would it have been without jess and nick as endgame
when i watched the first episode and saw nick & jess i said out loud “theyre gonna end up together” and guess who was right
olivia omg I literally love them together they are goals and I want a nick in my life 🥺🥺
olivia same
so.....none of them were acting? They just used fake names??
True
that's what true acting is :)

it just being a good actor/actress
it was just a reality show

Hi there. No. Video
Jake even admitted in interviews how they like to play up the Schmidt and Nick relationship IRL
Fr :)
They are exactly the same as there characters
but jake is little bit different
Nicole Rankin Zooey is so Jess, but with a little less nerdiness and awkwardness. Jake is pretty Nick, but is much more mature and well-spoken. Also, he's not an alcoholic.
+trixie rachel jake seems to be as funny but with a harsher Chicago humor than Nick
+Sm ramgator 5:04 onwards, harsher turtle face too
That means that they're not so good at acting. For me Jake is the best actor among all of them, with Max. Anyway I loved all the seasons and I really like them all
LOL they argue with each other just like they do on the show! :D
I know right?! jake and max are the same as nick and Schmidt 😂😂
Winston was the funniest character on the show, even in one-liners he could steal an entire episode. It’s like they just tried to pack too much into it. There’s not enough room for them all to shine enough, which is sad cuz this was such a talented cast.
I totally disagree. They each have their time to shine lol. I love them all. This is still my all time favorite show. 😂
And they seemed to actually like each other irl.
I like that people love Winston now. I have only watched the first two seasons so far, and it seems to be Schmidt's show with Winston's being the least fleshed out
my favorite is by far schimdt
Agreed! Winston is my fave! I love when him and Cece do a “classic Cece-Winston mess around”
They are their characters. I love it
I love how even though they try to be themselves, they seem so in character at the same time.
Because the characters ARE them
That was a classic Nick/Schmidt interaction
OMG 0:42-1:07 Jake IS Nick and Max IS Schmidt
“Don’t touch him! Don’t look at him!”
😂😂 Nick and Jess were inevitable. They really did have too much chemistry to not be end game.
"You're an idiot" means "I love you" according to Robin Scherbatsky
It does tho😂
THE REFERENCE YESSSS
only if it's said with a smile
I knew from the first episode that nick and jess were gonna get together and when they did I was like whatt but I guess it was subconsciously there chemistry
Yes that is true but i wish they were together in real life😅
Yeah meebtoo
i think im in love with jake johnson
Me and u both
Me too
mood tho
join the club, brethren
Said everyone
I can’t believe that a cast could possibly be as similar to their characters as this one is. I swear they are the literal same person
WHY ARE THEY LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME AS THEIR CHARACTERS IT KILLS ME
“Don’t touch him. Don’t touch him, don’t look at him don’t touch him” wow they really didn’t want to give the fan girls anything to go off of😂 well actually, “the fan girls” are me. And I went crazy every time they glanced at each other
This show had the best casts and characters of any show. Cant believe they stopped producing more...
It's like they play themselves I love it.
Oh my gosh they are playing themselves!!
I love that max and Jake ARE nick and Schmidt lol
they should've never stopped making the show ❤️
The best shows end well, in my opinion :) Usually by the 7th season of anything the magic is lost for me
**spoiler**I actually think they lost chemistry in the 6th season. The first time they hook up was mega 🔥. Season 6 seemed forced between them. I was more in for cece and Schmitts relationship.
Yes thats true
Sadly I have to agree with you. I was all so excited for them to get back together for good but when it happened I didn’t feel the spark 🙁
Season 6 final give me chills but season seven felt so rushed and it didn’t feel like season three again
@@asgardianof_thegalaxy9509 Season 6 was supposed to be the final season and they produced it so that it could be the finale in case a seventh and final season didn’t happen.

There was also so much improv on the part of the actors, they really made the show!

Here i am on 2020 and still loving this sitcom. You guys are the best!
2023 here🎉
On my third run through the series. 1- for the laughs. 2- for character deep dive. 3- pick out clues to story lines development, cultural crumbs, guests effects on series. The first clue on Nick and Jess was when she walked into the loft the first time. Nick changed character, instantly.
Lamorne's face at 2:16, "why wasn't I part of this 'boob fight'?"
I’m a married woman and that ring on Jake’s finger just makes me angry and jealous. Lol
They cast this sooo well
We all secretly hope they will get together in real life
Omg yes but they r married lol
@Ivan the flying squirrel yassss we do
Yeah, but Nick and Jess ARE together, just not Jake and Zooey, that's the deal. But I do agree :')
Just a reminder: actors are actors they may share similarities with their characters and relationships but they are humans with their own personalities
The question is... are they even acting in the show
I could watch Jake and max just argue for hours. At first I thought they were doing a bit like on the show, but no that’s just them.
PLS THEY R LITERALLY THE CHARACTERS ON THE SHOW AND I LOVE IT
“Just let him have it Nick” Zooey to jake at 1:00
So did they base all their characters on themselves? That’s incredible
Dude Nick and Jess’ plot points paralleled from the very beginning. They did not do a good job “fighting against it.”
but it made the show better! It just shows they were meant to be from the start
THEY ARE THE SAME AS THEIR CHARACTERS IM CRYING
Am I the only one here in 2020? 🥺

Glad to know I'm not the only one watching random New Girl interviews years later lmao
The one thing I would critique about the show was that season 7 was too short and I wanted more eps with them all married and maybe the finale with them all in that flash forward
they are literally just their characters, especially zoe, she is just jess i love her sm
Freak'n LOVE this show :).I'm eagerly awaiting for season 4 to come to DVD to add to my collection.
Did you finish it? How was season 4? :)
Jake and Max are literally playing opposites. Jake is wearing a suit, mocking max while max is dressed like Nick and talking dumb like him 😂😂
“It’s a hard balance to know that you’re pulling it out at the right time, you know....”
Yeah that’s why a lot of us exist.
I can watch Jake and Max talking all day lol
They are their characters I’m screaming
Wow, they are totally their characters, love it!
"Let him have it" 1:03 👏🏻
Jake is amazing the kind of man who could be friends with anyone. I so get him. Plus he's super cute
me when im lying: we fought against [the zooey and jake chemistry in s1]

Holy shit how are they exactly the same as their characters lmao 😭
literally best cast ever
CeCe and Schmidt belonged together. I'm happy they ended up together.
I love how they are the same on screen as off screen
They are literally the exact same as their characters.
Why isn’t this interview put together in the same video? Instead of a million 5 min episodes haha? Asking in 2018. Love new girl!
I love Jake being Nick in real life
i want zooey to be with jake in rl lmao
angelina julie can u leave?

One of the greatest series I have ever seen
What an underrated show
“Actively resisting it” - we could tell
"DONT TOUCH HIM DO NOT TOUCH HIM"
I wish Jake and Zooey we’re ACTUALLY MARRIED

Holy heck I watched a little bit of the first episode and now this is in my recommended😳
jake and max are literally nick and schmidt
