Thank you for this, I really appreciate it and I have already got the active hands website up for me to look over. My power chair is NHS and I do love it but, gosh I really would like some kind of suspension to smooth the ride! On many of the routes I use around Oxford there are bike lanes running next to the footpath and the textured paving while potentially life saving for a blind person really increases my pain and makes me feel like I’m on some kind of vibration table (bits of my wheelchair always get loose and I can’t wear standard ear buds because they shake right out of my ears!). The pavers that signal the footpath from bike path are the worst. Bike path side they run vertically, no problem, apart from being hit by a bike but the footpath ones are horizontal and the texture is very pronounced! So my biggest want is suspension! I would like air filled tyres but that also scares me with the idea of a flat far from home. I really want to go to the show next time (is it annual?) because I would have so much more of an idea of what I need, want, and what’s realistic. And how much money I would have to save up for/rob a bank for 😜 😂. *Edited for spelling, grammar and typos and you know I didn’t come near to getting them all!*

I really enjoyed the one day I got to spend there this year. Missed a lot of things due to wanting to see as much as possible in the few hours I had. Will be back for the full 2 days next year.
I have a new power chair that you can lay down in very similar to the one you showed at the end with the zebra print decor. It doesn’t have the all terrain wheels but has very good wheels on it. I’ve needed one for so long but could never afford one. I have POTS and sometimes need to lay down so I don’t pass out. I just happened to call a place that helps disabled people and asked if they ever get donations of used wheelchairs bc my manual wheelchair broke, and they said they had this brand new power chair someone donated that I could have if I wanted it. It still had the tags on it, and cost over $10,000.00 US. I can’t believe how lucky I was to get it. I have zero income for many years now, not even disability or SS. My daughter cares for me. What a blessing.

I severely regret getting my benoit system vs the alber power wheels I was choosing between. They've been nothing but trouble for me unfortunately, and I rarely use it anymore
I was excited when I saw the touchscreen device, as my grandma really struggles to hit the right soft button on her phone. However, she has really swollen knuckles due to arthritis so she can't wear rings, so she wouldn't be able to use this unfortunately - hopefully someone develops something similar with a different way of attaching it.
@@Wheelsnoheels I always do enjoy your videos! Thanks! I just saw a video by Imani about using and maintaining her crutches and it occurred to me - I need to learn how to do maintenance on my wheelchair. Then I thought of you, because you’re the one I’ve learned the most from about every other aspect of my chair. Thank you!
00:57 All those colourful walking sticks, which are completely useless for me, as no colourful walking sticks are made to handle bariatric class weight requirements. 01:06 The light blue recumbent trike by ICE I could so _easily_ use that, as I have a recumbent exercise bike already. Only downside is that it's so low set, motorists would not see it on the roads here. Cycling on Australian roads is already a dangerous high risk activity due to motorists attitudes and behaviours towards cyclists, that an even less visible bike would be a higher injury and death risk for the rider. 01:30 The roll-in van looks nice, but how much does its ramp go over the end of a normal parking space? 04:08 I _WANT_ that jumper Sophie has. 06:01 chat The thing with voices is that you not only hear your voice as other people hear it, you also hear more strongly, the vibrations of your voice, through the bones in your skull. It's why "Mic Fright" is a real thing, when people hear their voice for the first time, as other people hear them. How your voice sounds to you through the bones in your skull, is _not_ how your voice sounds to others. 07:16 The arm exerciser It needs the same comprehensive exercise computer, as a regular exercise bike. 11:50 The YOMPER This seems more awkward than the BATEC, because with the BATEC, you can attach it to your wheelchair without having to transfer out of your wheelchair to do so. Also, the YOMPER is only good for wheelchairs with a full width rear axle, which unless I am mistaken, only non-folding wheelchairs have. 12:31 The exercises How well would they go, if you don't have full arm movement at the shoulder? 17:24 That vegetable peeler should be a mainstream item in all kitchen shops, not just disabled specialty. The Nimble Thimble really looks great for opening bags. I wonder how well it would go with opening a plastic wrapped slab of 20x500ml bottles of spring water? With the extendable cutting blade I use for that task, I have to expose enough blade tip, that a cutting injury risk is definitely present. 19:54 The crossbows. The actual bow part of those classic rifle style crossbows, looks not much larger than the bow of the NERF Rebelle Diamondista pistol crossbow I got rid of when I moved house in May 2022. I bought it before I became disabled, but never thought to try it for simple target shooting. 20:00 The throwing axes looks major cool! 20:35 Archery I tried it once, back in 1984, and I was lousy at it. Poor arm strength in the left arm, to hold it still against the pull. I doubt I'd be much better at it now. I hope the archery didn't use up too many spoons for you. 22:41 chronicallyjenni Quite a few of her videos have shown up in my YT recommendations since getting my wheelchair back in September last year and watching so many of your videos, Gem. You should have tried to get a video of Jenni using the all terrain powerchair in your cover photo. Jenni's zebra stripe outfit would have perfectly matched that powerchair. 25:10 Benoit Systemes Light Drive2 This drive is such a _rare_ sight, on any wheelchair user vlog channel. Something designed to work with ordinary folding wheelchairs, and not solely for the paraplegic custom wheelchairs such as yours. Ambulatory wheelchair users rarely get a look in for powered drive tech. 26:56 Not just all terrain, but also, 4 wheel steering. The close-up of the regular wheels on that powerchair, looks like the wheels from a regular 4 wheel drive from the 1970s/1980s. I'd love to see that style wheel be available for regular manual wheelchairs, not just in a wide off road tyre configuration but also in a more narrow classic tyre style, as a style/bling upgrade for manual wheelchairs. Thanks very much for this great video, Gem! :)
thanks for you comments im glad you enjoyed the vid ,there was alot there , something for everyone and you right jenni would hav matched the zebra stripped all terrain wheelchair perfectly hahaha there was a few spoons used too 😀

07:16 The arm exerciser
It needs the same comprehensive exercise computer, as a regular exercise bike.
11:50 The YOMPER
This seems more awkward than the BATEC, because with the BATEC, you can attach it to your wheelchair without having to transfer out of your wheelchair to do so.
Also, the YOMPER is only good for wheelchairs with a full width rear axle, which unless I am mistaken, only non-folding wheelchairs have.
12:31 The exercises
How well would they go, if you don't have full arm movement at the shoulder?
20:35 Archery
I tried it once, back in 1984, and I was lousy at it. Poor arm strength in the left arm, to hold it still against the pull. I doubt I'd be much better at it now.
I hope the archery didn't use up too many spoons for you.
22:41 chronicallyjenni
Quite a few of her videos have shown up in my YT recommendations since getting my wheelchair back in September last year and watching so many of your videos, Gem.
You should have tried to get a video of Jenni using the all terrain powerchair in your cover photo. Jenni's zebra stripe outfit would have perfectly matched that powerchair.
25:10 Benoit Systemes Light Drive2
This drive is such a _rare_ sight, on any wheelchair user vlog channel.
