Absolute life saver man !!! My pc started updating everyday for a whole month then windows just broke…. Nothing worked my system was so corrupt not even factory reset worked lmao… thank god i found this vid ❤️🥰
thanks so much for this detailed tutorial. i was without internet access, missing drivers, and crucial updates for around 5-6 months until i found this solution. this has been the only thing that has actually helped me. a real lifesaver and it’s all thanks to you! ☺️
Great tutorial. Simple and easy to follow. I've just reinstalled Windows 10 on what I thought was a completely dead PC. Although I installed from the USB stick in the Recovery Mode > Use a device > I had 3 EFI options and chose the one at the top of the list (despite it not stating USB in the name). And it worked!! Before using the USB stick installation I had tried *every* troubleshooting option, PC reinstallation and uninstall update... everything... but everything failed until I tried the USB reboot method. Cheers😃 *PS.* I haven't had any problems with the missing Product Key after skipping it in the initial Windows 10 installation
I wish I'd watched this first. I lost 30GB data on my 64GB stick. Still, taking nothing away from the video. It is understandable. Pretty easy steps to follow.
you didn't lose it. just search up "how to get original data back from USB drive" and then watch a video. it's pretty simple: open cmd, diskpart, >select disk [disk index number, usually "0"], >clean. >create partition primary, format drive.
Its worth remembering: Media Creation Toolkit does not actually download a full contiguous "fresh" windows ISO from microsoft servers. It assembles one *mostly* using your existing windows installation (its basically a sysprep that then hashes and compares the results to a known set of reference blocks online, then gets replacement blocks for those that fail). Follow along with process explorer or task manager (or perfmon or process hacker) if you need evidence. The most obvious evidence is that you are almost guaranteed to see significantly less than the bandwidth total needed to add up to the end file size.
Thank you. all of the large youtuber, tell you how to find the mediacreationtool, but if you just stick it into the new computer, it does nothing. You explain that the mediacreationtool needs to be executed first on the flash drive, then it becomes an installable boot device on the new computer.
I already have windows 10 installed but not working properly and I need to reset my pc can I chose upgrade option from usb Drive and keep all file protected in other drive
Since, I am having huge booting issues and other recovery issues have not worked. Can I use the media creation tool in a laptop that had a manufactured original copy of Windows license with it and have that license be recognized? Thank you this is an excellent video!
Thank you for the helpful video. Question: when you download the Media Creation Tool, does it automatically include the ISO file or do you have to download that separately? The USB stick needs ISO and Media Creation Tool to boot up the PC and start the installation process -- correct? Again, thank you for your time and energy.
-- A follow up for those people who are trying without success to download Windows Media Creation Tool: it didn't work for me until I used a USB memory stick with 128 GB of free space. I had read online in several areas, even MIcrosoft's site, that a memory stick with 20 GB would be adequate space. Not in my experience. Each memory stick I used was blank and formatted clean and ready with its maximum allotted storage. 10 GB, 16GB, etc. No luck. As an experiment I downloaded Media Creation Tool onto a brand new 128 GB memory stick. It worked. Download went smoothly and installation onto a new SSD drive worked without a hitch. Just saying.
@@rerite2 Thats weird, I've just installed a bootable windows install from the MS media creater on a 16 GB sandisk. Its actually 14.5 GB once formatted and it has 10 GB of free space afterwards. But then again, thats an desktop install from the downloaded MediaCreationTool21H2 ( www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 ) which is only 18.5 MB in size, it uses the internet to then download the files needed onto the USB stick, all from within Win10 desktop environment. The ISO image is only 4.3 GB too.
@@liftylu -- Yes, it's strange. I wish I could give a tech description about why exactly it worked but I don't know. It was a shot in the dark, by process of elimination, and it worked, thankfully.

So thanks for that, moved it to my SDD and now I have on big hard drive partition rather than 3 that were split up for some godawful reason.

Hi. I am following every step of this on another pc to make a bootable USB drive for another pc. It takes me through to the part where it asks if I want to create the media for this pc or another. I then click another whilst having an already formatted 32g USB in but then it sends an error message saying that I need to clean up 8g of space but not on the USB. It is actually asking that I do that on this pc's C drive. Why would that be and how does one fix it?
@@mahnoorkhandurrani8284 Not exactly. Still having issues.
