Hi, David, I have a question that I think would be a good topic to talk about in some of your videos. Is it necessary for a Church to operate in the prophetic, also...is it necessary for a church to be welcoming to the Spirit, spiritual gifts, etc? I want to know about this because it has been difficult finding a church that believes in the prophetic gifts as I do, and I am wondering if I should just settle with churches around the area that do not operate in the spiritual gifts, etc. Thank you!! - Justine

The gift of Discernment is the awareness of the holy spirit vs. demonic spirits within individuals, not simply an awareness of a person's flaws. Although if you have the gift of discernment then you can perceive and sometimes even name the demonic spirit(s) which are causing a person to fall short of the fullness of the glory of God. when you call out or rebuke those spirits, people who lack spiritual discernment will perceive this as a personal attack on the individual although in reality you are attacking the demon(s) within the individual and not the individual themselves. It's an act of love, not hatred. It's a war not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Those with discernment also use the gift to come into the knowledge of who their brothers and sisters are in Christ because they can perceive the Holy Spirit within people, but this is the side of the coin that gets glanced over because it causes unity and fellowship instead of division.

Dear Pastor David your message is exactly what the Lord revealed to me and same verses. I felt a heavy burden in my heart so I went to my room and pray I keep on repenting all the sins I have done but I still felt the heaviness in my heart until I said this " Lord, forgive me for not valuing the Gifts you have given then suddenly revelations come and he whisperehed Ephesians 4 and i never thought that Ephesians 4 is where you will find about the gifts. I believe God wants me to accept the Gift of Prophecy because I keep disregarding the thought that He had chosen me to have that gift. He revealed to me things that have already come true about nations and war but I keep silent. Thank you for this teaching the Holy Spirit is leading me here! God bless!

Amen, thank you David, I knew we have some operation in all the gifts as Holy Spirit chooses, but we have our main gift and a gift of service! God gifted me with a voice, so I lead the worship at the seniors bible study group, I feel humbled and blessed to do this. The Lord has gifted me with speaking and singing in tongue and also led me to be involved with healing and deliverance! Praise Jesus!

Word of wisdom:Divine revelation of the future:Eg:"You are called for the office of an Apostle"
The difference is in the,past/present and future
No less than 5 years ago, I did not believe in continuation of the prophetic gifts. Then I had a prophetic vision. It brought to mind many previous dreams I had throughout the years. Then they all started authenticating in ways that were incredibly detailed. It was a powerful experience. I wasn't given any specific message to preach, but now I feel more compelled to preach the gospel message. It also called me to a more holy life, giving up things like pornography. I haven't had any visions now for about a year, but I will be ready to record them and take them to heart when I do.

Since this year, I've been having vivid dreams and some have lead me to impact my community or to reach out to others. Some dreams scared me and some made me confused but I always felt there was a deeper meaning to them. I really want God to reveal to me and develop this for me because I really do desire the gift of prophesy to reach out to the people in my life. When the holy Spirit came upon me I wasn't even aware I lived all by myself but it didn't seem like I did cuz I felt this company within me that I couldn't understand time after time I'll always feel this strong spiritual power in me that weakened me and I even thought I was demon possesed cuz I'll always find myself falling on my own and day by day I only became more confused but after series of complains to my friend, he told me that He doesn't think theses are spiritual attacks but that God is trying to reach but I just don't know He is the one and then he recommended I read the book of Samuel then I realized I just experienced exactly what Samuel was experiencing from that day I began to carryout research on the Holyspirit and that's when I passed across the ministry of the spirit church and it seemed He always gave an answer to the questions I was seeking since then day by day my intimacy with the Holyspirit has just been greater and greater I know I still have a long way and much to understand too but I thank God for this ministry cuz it has built my faith in Christ

Discerning on its own is the ability to decipher the nature of something.The gift of discernment of spirit on the other hand is the ability to see spirits(divine,evil and human spirits).Normally we say people see in the spiritual realm.Have you heard people say they see angels in visions?Or even demons?That is the gift of discernment of spirits in operation.
Now the offices and the gifts.Every single person has 1 or more gifts mentioned in 1st Corinthians 12 but not everyone is called to an office(Ephesians 4:11)

knowledge I have awake and in dreams. I see people I don't know out of no where in vision, all different situations, disernment and in spirit, insite and future.
I've had dreams of me preaching Gods word, I feel it from my stomach area and or just comes out!!! I mostly speak on sin and staying in his presence and how true God's word is. question, am I to do this.??

i have the gift of Evangelist and i love God a lot more than anything: nothing seem more important to me than to please God or do His will. i study the word of God everyday at all times. at times God reveals His second coming to me (mostly i get scared of such revelations). whenever someone is preaching or talking about the second coming of God whilst amma sleep i hear it in my sleep at other times something wakes me up no matter how deep the sleep is or what the time is. deep down within my spirit i feel that God wants to use me in a supernatural for His Kingdom. i dont know how to go about this. can you please help me

No, not at all. Christianity is relationship w/ Jesus Christ. Heaven is the Person of Jesus Christ and not do's and don'ts. But out of that relationship comes purity, holiness and righteous living.

Prophesy reveals the secretes of a person's life, my concerns are if we are not mixing the Gift of Prophesy and Knowledge together.
Could it be that the gift of wisdom and knowledge are what King Solomon had actually had?
I am just wondering if the interpretation of the Gift of knowledge is actually correct.
Paul said "if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
It appears that the Gift of Prophesy is the revealing factor of the secretes of men's hearts and not the Gift of knowledge.
The gift of prophecy as per 1st Corinthians 14:3 brings 1.Edification 2.Comfort 3.Exhortation.It doesnt have anything to do with revelation.It is a gift of inspiration.The gift of the word of knowledge(not just knowledge) reveals the past and the present.The gift of the word of wisdom (not wisdom) reveals the future.

This is hard to describe, but I have had a few "thoughts" come into my head and then come to pass about a week later. These "thoughts" are not major events, but rather insignificant events. For example, I came to a stop sign and in front of me was a red brick church. I became fixated on the steeple and went into a daydream like state. I only came back to myself when I said out loud, "too bad that church is going to burn down." I then snapped out of it and asked myself if I just said what I thought I said. It was about a week later and the church was struck by lightning and burned down. The only thing left was the steeple. I can't make this happen and it's only happened a few times. What is God's purpose in this? What is He trying to tell / teach me?

You need to train this gift!! You're a warner and exhorter someone who comes to warn/encourage of future events, ask God to help you with this gift as it is can be very valuable in warning people about certain things that could happen to them. :)
@Big Smoke no I have not done any training at all. There have only been about 5 times that this has happened. Four were prophecies that had come true and one was a rapture dream. The last incident was the spirit telling me to go to Barnes and Noble and read my devotion. It was winter and snowy about 10 at night. I was on my way home and said that I would read it then. The spirit came back again and I said that I was in the lane that I wanted to be in and the roads were not good. The spirit then came back more directly and forceful. It told me to go. I found the book and started to head to a chair to read when a girl around 12 was crying in an aisle that I had passed. I couldn't concentrate on my reading the spirit was too hard. I put the book away and looked for her. I then said to the Lord either she left or is in the bathroom and I'm not going in there. As I was about to leave I caught a glimpse of her. She was still crying with no one paying any attention to her. I don't remember what I said to her, but she was the oldest of her siblings and her mom was dying in the hospital with no dad. I then for no reason said that I didn't want her to do bodily harm to herself. She looked up at me with big eyes and asked how did you know that was what I was going to do? I asked if she had a pastor and she said yes. I then said that this was too big for her and she needed to talk to them. I don't remember anything else. I didn't tell her how it came to be that I was there. We didn't exchange names or numbers. Sometimes I feel like I failed in this.

It's basically just you and God/Holy Spirit connecting with each-other. You speak to God through your holy spirit :)
How can I distinguish when sometimes I can feel their emotions when I suddenly looked at them. Or when I can see that dryness in them though I don't judge them but just took a glance at them. I'm in a new church right now and I don't really know much of the people's background here but I see their inside and my spirit emphatizes with their grieving and rejoicing within them. 🧐
4. Insight
I read Acts 20-21, and the prophets were not wrong. Paul was definitely bound by the Jews and they tried to hand him over to the Gentiles like the prophets warned him.
With all due respect - No prophet of God can be wrong because that implies God is a God whose word cannot be trusted, or that He purposely stirs up confusion - God is not the author of confusion.
I have many questions about these gifts of The Holy Spirit...Is there any way I could send my questions and for you to respond me back? … I know this is an old post. It was worth a try.

I've been having visions but I don't understand why I see them them the way I do.
It's like I'm seeing my self doing things and going through things that reveal my problems and others problems. Yet when the moment comes I try to apply biblical knowledge rather than acting in flesh.
I can even see what would happen if I chose to not listen to God and listen to my flesh.
It doesn't happen every day.
Is this normal?

Question, please: You said Acts 20-21 proves that sometimes a prophet can be wrong. But as I read it, the prophecy was that if Paul went to Jerusalem, he would be bound, & in Acts 22:25 we see that it came true. What am I missing?
Also, the Bible says that by 2 or 3 witnesses every matter shall be established (2 Cor. 13:1b, Deut. 19:15, Num. 35:30b), so I think we are partially, if not totally, missing an undergirding example or 2 of this principle from Scripture.
Anderbree In Acts 20:22, Paul made it clear that the Holy Spirit wanted him to go to Jerusalem. In Acts 21:4, the believers prophesied the opposite.

A lot of people say that the prophetic is when you preach the word of God and there is no more prophets now .

I know this comment is 2 years old, but since nobody has answered you I will. Some people are cessationists meaning they don't believe in modern-day prophets and that the so-called sign gifts have ceased (although none of the gifts in the Bible are designated as sign gifts). They believe that God still heals but the gift of healing has ceased. Some of them might not believe in modern-day miracles either. And other people are continuationists meaning they believe the gifts are still active and miracles are for today because they are needed for ministry and verifying the man/woman of God, the word of God, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without them, we would have the same dilemma Moses had in Exodus 4:1 when he was concerned that nobody would believe him. I personally consider myself to be a continuationist (because it has strong Biblical support).

I couldnt find in the scriptures you referenced to, what you meant that the prophets were contradicting each other. Nor do the scriptures prove and explain that a wrong prophet is not a false prophet. could you site the specific verses?
The claim that a wrong prophet is not a false prophet is a dangerous claim, for how would we know and discern a if a prophet is true or false? isnt it by examining wether their prophecy comes true or not?

I been doing all I know to receive any gift from the holy spirit and it has been so vague and seldom. Im starting to think it won't happen no matter how much I pray and ask.
Keep pursuing, brother. It happens for others and it will happen for you too in God's timing. I am waiting/trying too.

Because you are asking for what you were born with. Start thanking Yahweh for His gifts in you and ask Him to activate them🙏🏾
You can receive knowledge for yourself, as well as for others - the reason why is God needs you to become God's answer, it may broaden your perspective, you might be like a city horse of old for instance, which they usually have blinders on them, they focus is forward not to the sides, they less disturbed about thing approaching from there sides, less chance they become spooked. In this case your blinders are removed allowing you to experience more allows for the next plateau, which again could lead or lend to helping others more as well.
Wisdom - is faster than thinking
We must always give praise to God as it always him, it is not our ability, our math, it always an allowance, or gift of an ability, we are just the messengers.
You should include intuition as a process involved - the gut feeling.

But the bible says beware false prophets, so how can it then say a wrong prophet is not a false prophet
True prophets had to start somewhere and they surely must have missed it a few times when they were starting off. I think a wrong prophet simply made a mistake. A false prophet intentionally tries to mislead people and lead them away from God.
If its the same Spirit but a new dispensation, what is the purpose of the ministry of prophet and prophecy compared to the OT?
Wouldn't this current purpose (dispensation) also hold the same strict standard of accuracy, especially since its the same Spirit?
In the OT they didnt have the Spirit in them they him upon him which is quite different. In the OT, they didnt have the mercy from Jesus Christ's death. So they did get judgment in a greater scale.

@@DailyBibleStudyAndDiscipleship The Holy Spirit is in us because Jesus Christ died on the cross. In the old testament, Jesus Christ did not die yet so they did not have the Holy Spirit in them, but he was laying upon/ them
The exact words was-different dispensation under the new covenant(grace). The purpose of the prophetic-never changed from old til new,always has been pointing out,firm and keeping the people of God on track. As in the Old testament the Spirit is selective and you are anointed and groom either by a prophet or the Spirit of God himself (example Elijah/Elisha/Moses). Even the olden days prophets had their falling point themselves.
In the new covenant(grace but still abiding by the Spirit), modern days prophetic people nowadays are either ordained by prophets and groomed to be led by the Spirit and as u know the Spirit never goes wrong with accuracy but the human vessel at times can err. In 2019 with the amount of distraction and triggers around us at times if we are not focus in the Spirit , we could end up releasing a word from our flesh(emotions) and not from the Spirit. So it's a learning process for the prophet themselves to be groomed gradually. As a believer it's our duty to test every Word and discern it's from God. The false prophets will be coming from a wrong Spirit-intent and motive is not to glorify the body of Christ. As we test things and pray n discern,we would make out the difference and not to condemn the prophet who came in the right spirit that may have been in error but correct him and tell what u have received in prayer. So it's a grace thing as we grow n learn to develop n handle gifts in love together.

(In Genesis after Sin-the Spirit of God was grieved and not strive with man)
As for the prophets-the Spirit of God selected,handpicked n anointed before He came over them n move. But still there were some like Balaam-bible still called him a prophet.
After the death n resurrection. The Spirit returned at the upper room n whoever repents n accepts Jesus sacrifice received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Now the Spirit in us and is able to move through us and with us. His manifested presence and indwelling presence. It's a gift truly.
