    Do like the look of it and the colour not too much of an issue for myself. As you say though a few guypoints missing that had put me off when I first seen ti come to market, such as one at the head end. Also a couple of loops ta the top corners where the trekking poles sit would be good so you could add extra lines there as well for rigidity in bad weather. Apprecait that Decathlon do wind test however much like Robens also do, whenever I have ever asked if they can show / provide actually footage of the testing I never get a reply. Would be good if manufacturers who do take the time to do a thorough wind test would add the footage to there websites as it would give confidence to people looking to purchase. But overall great review and as you say it looks a great offering at a good price.

      Thanks buddy. Agree about the testing. I've seen the nordisk video wind tests but these would be good to see. And yes you can't get enough guy out points. I'm looking at modding the end so I can guy it out further for more interior space.

    Before I commented on the chair, I came to look at this as wanted to see if you fit in it (I'm 6'3) and looks absolutely fine. I'm about to order the all white version as I personally think it looks brilliant. I'm a big fan of Decathlon, especially Forclaz gear (I live in Spain and Decathlon are everywhere here) and I'm glad more wild campers are reviewing and using their gear as personally I think it stands up against tents and gear 4, 5 6 times the price! I wish they did a 4 season inner for this, as it would then be my go to winter tent for the Pyrenees, as well perhaps 3000 hh instead of 2000, but they are only small gripes. Thanks for a solid look at it, especially the length as now i know i will definitely fit in it. Have you been out much in it? Held up well? Finally, if you didn't want to take an extra pole for the attach a guy line for the end, to lift it higher (Made a massive difference!) a solid stick should do the job. Thanks again, subbed.

    • @NoviceWildCamper
      @NoviceWildCamper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks buddy. I haven't been out in it since as I've had so many tents sent to me to test and others I've bought that it's hard to get out twice in the same one but I will be using it again in the summer. I generally camp on Dartmoor and there are absolutely zero sticks around as very sparse woodland areas where you're not actually allowed to camp but in other places that is what I would use as my carbon pole isnt the best for it due to being so smooth. Cheers for the sub 👍

    Looks great, apart from the colour!
    If they can make the floor orange, I don't think adding some colour to the flysheet is going to do too much extra damage to the environment. They won't sell as many with it being white.
    Sounds a bit crisp packety though.
    Also too much mesh in the inner for UK conditions, except the conditions you were testing it in of course 😂

    I'm not sure if this will work but wildskygear has adhesive guidelines anchors and patches with buckles (assuming you can stick them to mesh and put something on the inside to stop it sticking to the floor when packed 😄). However they don't attach to silicon coated fabrics and I'm not sure if the flysheet is silicon coated from decathlons description or if it's just the groundsheet.

In regard to other tents thst would fit you, it's going to depend on budget. Scarp 1 would suit, Nortent Vern 1 or for super budget buy not really lightweight the Regatta Montegra 2. Ok, yes that's difficult at your height. Have you considered a teepee style tent? If you look st some of my first videos I used a onetigris smokey hut. This is 3.2m across all angles and an inner is I think is 285cm long. Obviously it tapers so would depend how tall your partner is to get next to you but have a look. The total weight with inner and pole is less than 1.8kg which is not a lot for such a large tent plus you can even sit on a chair in the vestibule area in bad weather.

    I wonder if you could use a safety pin or 2 pinned to the head area of the mesh (just above the orange part) and a guy line to them and take a line out under the flysheet to pull the mesh out a little bit? A bit of a bodge but might just work.

    So is it better or worse than a lanshan 2. If I wanted to do a west highland way or Hibernian way in mild winter which would I get? Lanshan appears to be lighter and more waterproof but the other one is proof test for wind?

    • @NoviceWildCamper

      There's been a few Lanshans tear in the wind. It would be good to test this out in higher winds but I've just not had the chance yet. Personally I'd go with a Lanshan 1 as its more storm worthy and has had no issues tearing in wind that I'm aware of although I'd recommend getting the z packs door clips. @NoviceWildCamper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tough one. I think the tarp rent is more spacious and easier to put up. In the wind both about the same. Have you considered the collinsoutdoors castle two? Even mkre spacious and better in the wind than both. Outer pitch first but you can get your gear in them and put the inner up. I did a video on that here. th-cam.com/video/6RFbN34b9qY/w-d-xo.html

      A lot of tents stand out like a sore thumb. Look at any red hilleberg and they seem to be pretty popular. In regard to sound, it's no different from any other tent I've tried. Better than Cuban fibre for sure. And in regard to 3 season, it's been tested on a rotating plate wind tunnel up to force 7 gale and on the alps by professionals. Not sure why you think that wouldn't be good enough for the uk? Maybe you should try it before making comments like this. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I'm here to review gear to aid those looking.
