“Magical” I’ve thought the same thing. It really can take a normal patch or performance and turn it in to something you’ll listen to over and over. Thanks for sharing a demo that highlights the music it was fun to watch.
I had no idea this was a Huang based channel - I just bought a Mimeophone and was looking for good patch ideas, but once I heard the voice, I checked the channel name... then clicked that subscribe button!
Big wow. I always thought Rainmaker was the ultimate delay, but MakeNoise always manages to take it into a completely different direction. Really cool you have a channel dedicated to modular.
Love these patch deconstructions. I'm messing around in VCV rack sometimes but i always end up making somewhat the same thing. This was really inspiring :)
@@suturesound thanks andrew! Still waiting to hear a TZFM tutorial with the Rubicon, the FM tutorial wasn't fully explained! Not by an amazing analog oscillator
Wow, you sound a lot like Andrew Huang ; ) - from Canada? Nice sounds! Trying to keep myself from buying a Mimeophon... really hard to resist. (It is Andrew... :P)
What would you say are your favourite modules to start a patch with? I'm talking VCO's, Envelopes, sequencers etc and then one key mutli-function for someone looking to get into modular? I'm really digging the randomness that comes from it, especially the probability aspects.
In this case I just left it in its internal minor scale mode the whole time. I don't know if you can CV a change, other than giving it new data to sample
professional musicians with a degree of success tend to have deep pockets for stuff related to their work. Plus they can write them off on their taxes as a work expense.
holy WOW your synthesizer has leveled up recently
Hallow must be nice when everyone sends you free stuff! 🥳😆

For anyone else who wasn't familiar with it, the term Andrew drops at 7:48 is "Karplus-Strong synthesis"
Have one too, it is truly f’ing nuts. The tips you give here are super helpful BTW
I would 100% listen to that last bit for hours if you uploaded an extended cut of it.
Best most comprehensive demo of this module I've seen. Makes me want one now
Thinks: "Hey, this guy sounds a lot like Andrew Huang"
Realizes: It's his alt account *facepalm*
Matt Longstaff same. It took me about a minute to put it together.
Yeah! The voice and the rack was an indicator
Damn that last part is beautiful, can't you make a 10hours version of that?
That last patch is so gooood.
Just got these modules but haven't had a chance to really dive in yet. This video was a great intro. Thanks for making it. 👍

The first patch is quite lovely man!!
Big wow. I always thought Rainmaker was the ultimate delay, but MakeNoise always manages to take it into a completely different direction. Really cool you have a channel dedicated to modular.
Your best video so far, maybe because I have those Make Noise modules. I wish they were available in VCV so you can save patches.
Mmmmm... that last patch sounds so nice... The Mimeophon is such an inspiring module. It's so Make Noisy (if that's a thing...)
Love these patch deconstructions. I'm messing around in VCV rack sometimes but i always end up making somewhat the same thing. This was really inspiring :)
it would be so sick if you did a video on what modules you have in the racks!
I gotta admit a bit techie for me, still a joy for the ears and your description somehow drives me through! thxs
visually inspiring, as much as the audio! n o i c e !
make moooooooore rhythmic and melodic patch sessions with the Tape and Microsound
Can you do like an hour video of that last patch? Perfect sleep tunes
Would love to watch an eurorack modular sound design lesson on monthly.com
1:44 hot dang, some serious bruce haack vibes here
How is your B-roll movement so smooth?!
wtf is b-roll, is that like crunchy-roll?!?!?
Brian Bush no, that’s the anime service, what he’s talking about is a dance named after a popular chocolate taffy
@@sambreuer831 Don't spread misinformation man. B-Roll is short for barrel roll.
If you haven’t ever heard Puppy Grislte, you should check it out. Totally experimental before all these mods were being built.

So when do you choose this over Rainmaker and vice versa?
Rainmaker for the randomization, way more taps, comb filter, presets. Mimeophon for immediacy and more possibility for gritty character.

Please upload 10 hours of that last patch :)
Do you have a modular album by any chance? :F

Clocks / modulation / probability come before any sound source for me. Pamela's New Workout, Skipmin, Marbles, Varigate, Branches 🔥
Thanks dude,
@@suturesound 💯
Man, I have no idea what's going on, but I love these videos.
sold....
hey, do you think that now where the mutable instruments is discontiued the mimmeophone could be a good alternative?
nice!
Hey man, great job. Just one question. How do you change the scales in Marbles? Do you use an automation (trigger/cv)?
In this case I just left it in its internal minor scale mode the whole time. I don't know if you can CV a change, other than giving it new data to sample
ThAnKs BoII
Do you often use your modular synths when you’re making tracks or do you consider it separate?
Oh yeah I incorporate modular into tracks fairly often. I prefer to end up in the DAW at some point though for edit/mix
When the endorphines system is hard to find, you have a lot of rack.
Love these nerdy video, even if I don't understand much of it :) Just very satisfaying to watch and listen.
Tip: Put Data in XY scope for visual fun :D
where do you get your little adat cable for between es6 and es8 from?
Can’t remember, some store in Alberta that does them custom
Do you have any contact in HSBC or CityBank ? Need a loan now :'(
Donkey Kong Country - Life in the Mines
Strange you dont push this channel more on your other channel
lol, no headphones, but i paused the video a couple of times because i thought stuff was happening in my room.
fuuuck, this guy can afford ALL THOSE TIPTOP STACKABLE CABLES?!

Can I sample this?
