Its always a good day when you get a new toy, this is the 1/10 ruster 4x4, also scooped 2 new batteries and a charger, never used traxxas lipos before. First run we took it easy
Dont b afraid to beat it up it takes alot of abuse i beat the hell out of all my rcs when i get them to find all the weak spots weak spots are driveshafts casters and links thats literally all i broke in 3 years and it still looks new with a shelfqueen body 😊 get traxxas aluminum casters hubs and steel driveshafts and u should b good oh and aluminum hexes as i have stripped a few of them b4 i upgraded them
I got one of these for my friends real cheap and I ran the 2S and it just got boring real quick....and then I put in A 3S and it got reall exciting but almost too exciting (geared ip) so I turned the throttle back a bit. So nice max around 55.... love it.
The best thing about the Traxxas batteries is they will last if they're taken care of I promise you make sure after every run, even though it may be annoying let the battery cool down and make sure you storage charge it I have Traxxas batteries that are 7 years old they're still kicking top notch always balance charge it never use the fast charge and I promise you better it will last many people bash Traxxas and their batteries but I'm telling you from experience brother they will last if taken care of nice choice of color by the way!😎
I love my rustler 4x4 vxl get some of the bigger sledgehammer tyres, aluminium driveshafts, aluminium shock caps and dust cover with the esc fan and this thing is a serious beast and a blast to drive I nearly love it as much as my newer xmaxx it flies on a 3s gens ace battery.
There is no hobby grade bigger scale rc 1/10th or bigger that isn't a money pit if you use them actually or run them in harsh environments or bash them zero can do it without breaknig anything you can't show me even one which does that wothout spending money on it....
hi Mike, how are you doing with the new rustler 4 x 4? I just ordered one and I'm going to be the same as you. I just want to take care of it… plus it should be plenty super fast with that 17 tooth pinion gear… 40 miles an hour that's insane… Your video is my favorite thanks for being here. Let me know how it's going… I might just leave the 11 tooth pinion it will keep everything running nice and cool… What are your views on that? I'm a beginner by the way
Whats up man, so far love the car, stock gearing keeps the motor cool and still rips, 17 tooth will be good just watch temps if running off road, street driving will be fine. Out of the box the car is tons of fun i think you will enjoy it!

Heck yea just watch motor temp on 3s but it’s a blast!

Heck yea man good to know, appreciate it!
I fly rc helicopters and always storage charge my lipos to make them last longer
@@syndicate9974 AGreed, i also am learning helis, very fun and challenging.
You can raise the height with the included suspension inserts quite easily...

Those are all good mods! I may go bigger tires next but still have stock drive shafts
Why would you use 2S instead of 3S?
That depends on driver skills lol
I gave up on the rustler 4x4 money pit
