Love the Backdraft cars, but Shelby has nothing to do with Backdraft. They do however endorse the Superformance brand. But even then, Shelby will not issue a continuance registry number for the Superformance cars, so it's more of an invisible endorsement than anything else. But all that said, even Shelby's actual continuation cars, all had aftermarket bodies on them as well, even though Shelby sold them as originals. Great video. Always love to see these cars in any brand or configuration. And you are right. They are not daily drivers but will call your name when the weekend comes around.

Please let me know if you end up going with the Godzilla. Thinking of doing the same with a cam, header update to get more of that original low growl sound and to increase torque and H.P.
The video indicates major manufactures of these kits. Kirham does make quality bodies but is not one of the large volume players as stated in the video. 👍🏻
We don’t really do those types of test on the show. Those numbers are too subjective to driver, conditions, etc. The engine is a custom build by ROUSH that starts as a SBF 427 Engine Block.
@@theotgshow8653 You want the best of BOTH WORLDS then try a Superformance MKiii Cobra w/a Coyote motor! Superformance has better suspension tuning for their Cobras as well as more tire (275/fronts & 335/rears) for a more planted feel, not mention the coyote gives a Dr.Jackle & Mr. Hyde driving experience because its more civil @low revs (although comes ALIVE above 5000rpm when you want to have some FUN!!!) Also, you forgot to mention "Kirkham" Cobras, the BEST of the BEST Cobras... ijs LOVE the video though
Almost all Cobras do 0-60 in the 3-4 second range regardless of engine, because due to the light weight of the car it's a traction issue and not a horsepower issue. Most Cobras are geared to theoretically do 150 miles per hour or so and it's at this point you are reaching the aerodynamic limit and again, more horsepower won't help. That said, it's very rare people would sustain 120mph for extended periods of time because it's stupid windy and stupid loud. My Cobra is happiest accelerating from 30-100mph and YES you are kept back in the seat the whole way!
@@BradThePitts True on most of your points. Mine will damn near break your neck on take off and will keep you pinned to the back all the way through the gears! (Torque) 120 + is crazy loud, windy and scary - but it's the most damn fun you'll ever have!
Very nice. I have to think that the shifter appears to be installed backwards in that particular car. It is normally angled fowards and should not be that far back at all!
That’s not a bad assumption but this one had a straight shifter instead of the bent ones you traditionally see in these cars. Probably what the original owner wanted when he/she ordered the car. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👊🏻
