Have you ever installed an additional vent opening on an RV roof? I want to install two Fan-Tastic vents on my roof so I can run each at power level 1/3 and hopefully get airflow close to running one vent at power level 3/3. Fan-Tastic vents have nice air flow for the power consumed but are noisy. Also when it is really hot running both at 3/3, while loud, will hopefully cool the RV more.
I have never made a new hole to install vent but I have converted regular vents to fan vents. to make a new hole in roof would require a lot of work and you have to make sure you don't compromise any of the existing roof structure.
Will this cover work on Fantastic Fans, too, or, strictly Maxx Air products? Also, is there any need for silicone on the attached brackets and hardware?
They have multiple types of different vent covers for different applications. Here is a link to their website: www.airxcel.com/maxxair . And no silicone is necessary for these covers or hardware.
BETTER INSTALL A FLAT WASHER FIRST, THEN THE LOCK WASHER & NUT... THE WAY YOU ARE SHOWING IT THAT STAR LOCK WASHER COULD DAMAGE/BREAK THE PLASTIC COVER !!! =(
Nice easy install! I like it. I still have a vent cover to pick up that I purchased a while back and hope it is this easy. One thing to keep in mind which was mentioned at the beginning of the video is air flow. I was going to purchase a CAMCO cover and saw this video on airflow - th-cam.com/video/p1fhkbl_1yQ/w-d-xo.html.
Thanks! Very easy to follow.

Compromising the roof structure - great point!
Great video. Thank you!
Can you make a video on how to trouble shoot when your house batteries quit charging at time when you drive it?
You may need to connect a terminal under your hood to power the constant on terminal on you trailer plug
