I've learned more being a BTS fan than I learned in school. I've read so many books because of BTS. I participated in so many causes because of BTS. Not only that, but their style helps me to stay updated instead of living in the past. Also: I know I take better care of my skin because of them. They have rubbed off on me. They are definitely rounding out my character.

I love dkdktv when it comes to their korean interpretations of bts songs but for psychological stuff, I prefer bookish theories for that.
What you guys are experiencing is the synchronization with the Universe. There's a feeling of exhilaration and epiphanies but its just a sign of being aligned with your higher self and the Universe. Just as how I came across you two, which is very refreshing for me. I just love how spiritually evolved BTS is and the people behind the scenes as well. Great reaction and I don't want to recommend anything since the rest of ARMY are soo on top of it! I'm just gonna lean back and enjoy the reactions instead. Lol. 💜
This song, it’s lyrics and the mv do a great job of explaining the mechanics of the shadow and it’s relation to a persona in a person’s psyche. The lyrics portray the indecision and “war” that goes on in our heads when it comes to admitting our own desires while still trying to conform to social norms and expectations and the music itself helps in this portrayal; its mellow, even calm in the beginning, when the persona is talking about Suga’s fear of the position he finds himself in now that he has found success in such a big scale while slowly acknowledging that all his feelings and thoughts that he’s repressed in the past are little by little becoming to big to ignore any longer. The beat drop at the last part of the track is what really brings the song full circle, as it becomes more aggressive, “raw” when his previously ignored shadow bursts through, forcing Suga to understand that it is also a part of himself that he can’t ignore forever and thus should not try to anymore.
The song is a musical and lyrical depiction of introspection and the feelings Suga went through in his journey towards archiving individuation. It’s quite fascinating, really, to be able to have such a window into somebody’s thought process and emotions, specially when that somebody is in a position like the one Suga (and the rest of BTS) is in.
I couldn’t make it for the premiere, but I still wanted to share some of my thoughts about this song with you guys, since like I said before it is one topic that I’ve always found to be the most interesting in psychology. Great reaction guys, I hope you keep safe and healthy and I will hopefully see you in the next one ✌️

yoongi (suga) is an incredible song writer and producer, if you ever get around to listening to yoongi's solo work as agust d or even his solo songs in bts' discography, i think you can learn a lot about him as a person and his thoughts. hes really insightful and talks about heavy things that i think most people can resonate with. this song is also one of those. while there is a lot of theory and psychology behind it as well, i think this song is also something that you dont necessarily need so much hard facts to understand, so i hope you can also view their discography at a more personal level too!

Xceleste clearly states whenever she is presenting a theory.
Bookish theory confuses people because they never distinguish when they are presenting a theory and when they are referencing source material. That can create a lot of confusion. I've seen it with other reactors.
They think bts actually used the four stages of alchemy and the hero's journey concepts in their work. This is not true. Those are just theories.
An actual explanation sticks to the source material which in this case is jungs psychology

BTS albums are thematic. So, MOTS 7 starts with Shadow and ends with Ego... and all the songs in between relate to that journey. MOTS: Persona, on the other hand, is almost entirely related to ARMY because ARMY defines the persona of BTS. Remember this when you react to diff MVs. They are each part of a theme explored in that particular album.

At the begging there’s a vinyl crack, it’s that sound you here in the old movies, it’s giving that vintage, nostalgic vibe and then when the music begins you can hear reversed music, it’s all reffering to them looking back at their past. (u can see O!RUL82?, the name of their second album) Suga is rapping ,,i wanna be a rap star, i wanna be a king...” in the low voice at the begging, the music is almost louder than his voice, it’s like he is unsure of himself - it’s because he’s saying the things he wanted as his young self (i wondered every day how far i’ll go) and after, when he’s saying the same lyrics louder and the music is silenced, it’s when he’s achieved all that, but he realised that fame comes with the dark side. The more he’s exposed to light, the darker his shadow becomes. He’s saying thath the shadow is always following him (you can actualy see the hooded siluette in many of BTS mvs) Then when the beat drops it’s his shadow talking to him, when you listen to the song with headphones on it sounds like the sound is ,,moving” from one headphone to another, it’s the voices in his head - it’s him talking to himself (i am you, you are me, we are one body and we are gonna clash, you can’t escape whenever you go) He’s also asking himself is he SUGA or Min Yoongi. Yoongi actualy means ,,light” in korean, and he’s telling ,,don’t let me shine” as if he is still battleing whether he is SUGA or Yoongi. The mirror represents barrier between conscious and unconscious. Since this album is part of the series :Map Of The Soul, with MOPS: Persona beeing the firt album of series, the MOTS:7 is second part. They are all inspired by Jung’s theory is that we all have a face we show to the world - PERSONA and the part we don’t show but who we truly are - SHADOW. The problem is some people identify themselves as their personas which is not our true selfs, it’s only our face which is adapted to the other’s expectations. In the path of identification we need to accept our shadows, but that is hard cause we are not sure if people will love that part of us. So yoongi is breaking the glass and trying to break the barrier which holds him in finding his true self. He’s afraid the people only appreciate SUGA - the person he is in the public and that they wouldn’t like the Yoongi, his true self. You can also see that when the crowd is too busy taking photos of SUGA that they doesn’t even notice Yoongi. Only when SUGA looks at Yoongi everyone start to notice him and take pictures of him, and that’s the moment he dissapears - when even his true self is opened to the public.
But the thing is everyone can have different opinions and it doesn’t mean some are wrong and some are right, the whole point is that the message is up to each person to descide, couse it can be percieved in so many ways💜

Bookish Theories does imo a much better job esp regarding Jungian concepts and connecting it all together. In fact, they did 2 explanations for this song, one for the lyrics and concept, the other was for the artistic and visual aspects. Both were very good. DKDKTV is good for lyrical breakdowns from a Korean perspective but as far as theory goes not as good as others but again this is just my opinion. I really enjoy your reactions so pls keep them coming! Much love 💜

when you said that when listening to bts you've gotta eventually get your psychology degree I actually started laughing bc the irony is that through a survey on Twitter it was discovered that actually a lot of armys have degrees in psychology or are currently studying to get one(out of all the armys who voted in that specific poll,psychology majors were the majority).... also a lot of younger armys want to study psychology when they get to college
