The fact that you present Shafqat as a candidate to step in and emulate the greats is in itself insulting. Ahmed Raza, Akbar Ali Khan and Muslim Hassan Shaggan are three youngsters from Pakistan that are ages ahead in terms of 'tehrao' and 'swar pradhan.' The 'twinkling stars' you spoke of are the likes of these young people. Not a pretentious, overrated singer like Shafqat. His Malkauns may be 'great' and his ghazals pleasing, but those two things alone does not a classical musician make.
