  • Day 1 :
We started Bay Area on 4:00am to get Campground at Tioga Pass. Since Tuolumne meadow campground is closed for season. We drove till Tioga pass area to find campground ( 5.5hrs drive ). Luckily we found our spot at Junction campground. All campground at Tioga Pass are first come first serve. Saddlebaglakecampground and Sawmill campground are still closed.
So we started our hike to Mt.Dana 10:30am. It is 5.3 miles hike with 3090ft elevation gain. The weather was nice. Some part are still snow, but it is doable for regular hiker. It took us 3hrs till summit and coming down 1.5 hrs.
    Day 2 :
After breakfast 9:30 we started our hike to Conness lake 6.3 miles with 928ft elevation gain. This was just one of the best hike i ever done so far with beautiful lakes, smoothing creek, wildflowers, waterfalls, glacial lakes, Glaciers, Granites mounatin peaks and wonderful meadows. Just Saddlebag lake loop hike doable with kids too.
