    Hey Mike! Another solid video, but I think I’ll continue to avoid the slant razors given my experiences with the Parker semi-slant. Hey, I really appreciate your responses to my comments over the past few days. About the bladeâ€Ķ.are they still being manufactured in the St. Petersburg Russia facility or has that changed due to the conflict with Ukraine?

    • @LongIslandShaving
      @LongIslandShaving  5 āļ§āļąāļ™āļ—āļĩāđˆāļœāđˆāļēāļ™āļĄāļē

      Honestly, I had picked them up when I knew they were being made and distributed still out of Russia so it’s an old manufactured blade so I’m not sure if they officially changed by now. I think I may ask Jason from The Razor Company he may know.

    Thank you for this nice review and comparison.
    I own a couple of razors that include the karve razors, blackbird, kopparkant+, Apex+ and the yaqi Ultima slant. I love all of them equally and for me slants are amazing for smoothness and being delicate on the skin while still being efficient.

    Great video and congratulations on 1000 subs. The listed gaps are some wild numbers. My slant of choice is the Rex Konsul. I use it in the 2-3 range depending on days of growth. Anything past 3 is too much for my taste. Blade choice is critical for some razors. Keep pumping out the great content.

    Hey Mike. Excellent shave video. I saw Inspector Dave's review on the Yaqi Torqx and he said it was a mild razor as well, but he didn't have it at the higher settings like you did. I never shaved with a slant, but some wet shavers on the forums have said that slants are not always aggressive. Anyway, I was going to suggest to try the Rex blade at the higher setting than you did when you first used that razor. Lol! You beat me to it, but I am not surprised because great minds think alike. Have a great week.

      I did try that Rex again. Yes would think at initial thought that this may possibly be an aggressive shave but it wasn’t. Decent shave my I didn’t see the benefit of using a slant other then the fact that it looks Cool with the angle an all

    I've never been big on slants. It just makes more sense to have the same gap even across the razor and i like to have control over that gap. Great video and review! Congrats again on 1000 subs you deserve it!

      A well made slant will have a uniform blade gap just like a well made straight bar will have a uniform blade gap. The angle of the head is the only difference between the razors.

    Nice! I only use a few different blades, Wizamets, Polsilvers, and Nacets. They're all pretty similar for character and it helps me dial in a new razor. It takes me a couple shaves to get used to a razor and get a feel for it. The PAA Monster Series is great and basically a modern materials Fasan. I've used my Fasan bottom plate on any of the Monsters I have and it fits perfect. To me it's an easy going shave, but efficient. I can't wait to pick up a Torqx! Take care!

      @@LongIslandShaving Will do! I've heard that from several people now that it feels kind of mild, but unexpectedly efficient. The PAA Monster is that way too. You'd probably like the Icon DLC slant head, It's got some blade feel and it will bite if you're not careful.

    Mike -
    You are correct in commenting that each razor will dictate what blade works best in it.
    I just had one of my best DE shaves using the REX blade with my R41 razor.
    I suggest you give that combo a try â€Ķ.
    I’m a regional electric bass guitar player here in NE Pennsylvania, and we have an old saying that every electric bass instrument will dictate to you what the best strings are to use with that particular electric guitar. IMHO, same holds true for our DE and SE razors. ðŸŽļ🊒
