  • John Piper discusses how Tim Keller's preaching about the dangers of legalism and libertinism can be effective in evangelizing unbelievers. By warning lawless individuals of the negative consequences of legalism, Keller helps to bring them closer to the faith. Piper stresses the importance of finding this balance in order to reach those who may be opposed to religion.

I am thankful for Timothy Keller and Gospel in Life ministries, I'll miss hearing from Tim but I know God will continue to use what he shared with us before he left to be with Jesus

Wow!! No wonder I was so drawn to Keller’s preaching particular his study on Galatian’s. The only way to live the gospel is to live it out with liberty..

John you are a smart man but so blind that I’m John 3:16 it says that Jesus does for the sins of the world. That WHOso ever should believe in Him would never perish. One day I asked God to reveal His truth to me about this and this verse played over in my head. You are wrong about election…. We are ALL given EQUAL chance to Believe in Him. The difference is that He already knows who will.

John 316 does not say Whosoever.
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes. Certain people are pre-written for destruction they have no chance. People don’t believe because they’re not Jesus sheep. John 10😊

Keller说的是,你们给libertines(大概就是那些放纵情欲,随心所欲的人)讲道的时候应该警告他们警惕legalism(墨守法规,条文主义)。

I love John Piper just as any other young, restless, reformed, lol! But, as I mourn Keller's departure to the Lord, without knowing the context of what he said, I don't think Keller meant what Piper got out of it. Let me explain, Keller's message to both libertines and gospel-less religious people, was that if Jesus life, death and resurrection is not our righteousness always and every day, something else is. Libertines will put their trust in their pleasures, loved ones, money, etc., and that Keller would call legalism, a different kind, but legalism nonetheless.

Keller was a subversive who inserted himself into evangelicalism & literally altered the landscape. So very many are fooled by him.
