I think her character is beautifully written and realistically composed. I relate to her a lot and that's why I have a special connection with this short film. I, like her have an avoidant attachment style, I'm very confused with my emotions; I want to feel closeness and intimacy but at the same time I am extremely scared of it and push it away. I know that if somebody held me like that and was that close I would start crying just like she did and it is not necessarily because of sadness...I don't know the reason behind the crying or the emotion of it but I could relate to it on such a big level. The film is absolutely wonderful and I come back to it all the time.
I can relate...people ask me all the time why I have been single for so long but yeah, I'm very good at avoiding this kind of closeness even though I wish to experience it so badly.

My biggest fantasy was always to meet my future husband through traveling. At a random place like this, waiting for a taxi, or photographing the same sight, asking for directions...
@@Jamess0090 I randomly thought of this short film and searched it up to watch it while I’m waiting at the airport. I even forgot I ever commented on this video. To answer your question, I have lots of lovely moments with strangers while traveling. Most of the time I get into conversations because of my analog picture taking or because I keep bumping into the same guy in one day. And there are have been other lovely coincidences. I haven’t found the one so far. But I feel all giddy anyway as if I’m in love
I met him in Seattle, ran away at 27. Falling in Love, scared the hell out of me. I ran without notice. Him: Married for 27 years. Me: still single at 57. Thank you, Beautiful job.
The taxi scene turning the corner with her crying was the cue for me. She was ready to be free. The humanity of connection, as complex as it can be, is simply choice. I love how each scene present that concept. I see myself in this short. Thank you!
Man they were good actors. The way she would just stare at him , taking him in. I never get into these types of films ... nor do I believe this stuff can happen in real life. But this was a nice pure hearted short film.
I'm her except the career. My attachment styles are fearful avoidant and dismissive avoidant. I want closeness, but afraid, so I push. When I push, and given the space, I want it back. Sometimes I Express it, or if they go, I let them. Intimacy and vulnerability scare me. A safe place sounds scary to me. It is what it is.

Why don't you make the effort (over some time) simply to learn to Love, for the sake of the other person? And to Love yourself too - that's wherein your true security lies (and will keep you safe from abusive entanglements). The modern obsession with one's own small self is the trap, a life without inner courage😥. 🤗🌱🌌
I used to be that runaway- girl when I was younger. I never gave a guy a chance to break my heart. My 1st love did it. I was also traveling a lot, trying not to get attached to people or places. But it worked out fine & I'm happy ro have a home now.
Because we shouldn't "fall" in love as you say in English, but go inside the love of another person as we say in italian 😊 "innamorarsi di" -->be inside love of someone else.
I must've missed something... so she has a work that allows her to travel, she meets guys and during those trips has a casual relationship with them because she has childhood trauma and as a defense mechanism never gets attached to the men she sleeps with until she meets a guy that changes her perspective... Story of a lifetime.
It's too cliche, life doesn't work that way. If that's the case then I've been through the same thing but I can't keep having casual partners forever, they don't last.
Omg the pain in her eyes was so palpable in the taxi leaving. I feel she was hoping he would ask her to stay instead of just putting her suitcase in the trunk so easily and quickly. Then when she called him, it went to VM, as if he wasn’t holding the phone praying through tears she might call with second thoughts, then when he answered, all he asked was, “Did you forget something?” THEN, if all that didn’t hurt enough, he didn’t say anything back to her, just silence, when she asked him to go get some cake! Ouch! That even hurt me!
I was looking for this comment, as it were! I have these questions as well! I'd have gotten the idea that he felt quite comfortable with my leaving! 1. Didn't suggest a change of heart. 2. Eagerly put luggage in taxi. 3. Didn't answer phone. 4. Apparently couldn't imagine that she was calling to connect/change plans. I'd have seen those as major red flags. Now, could it be that she FINALLY opened up to the idea of trusting someone, and she's making a clouded decision because it's the first time that she's ever felt this way, and she's blinded to his lack of enthusiasm? Or, is he really clever, and he's "testing" to see if SHE is serious? I need to know!
I've watched so many of these short films however apparently not many with romance. I felt so much love for this woman and was moved to join her in her tears. Yet it is just a short film. I realize I have never in my life got to spend a single night laying naked with a naked woman in my arms and wake to her beauty looking at me starting the day with intimacy. Nadine is amazing! 🥰❤❤❤
This is all new for me and good morning, but from this short film told a hell of a lot. I appreciate the depth and pure honestly especially at the end when she decides to call him and thru her tears asked if he wanted cake. I like the fact this young gentleman was wise and secure with himself and respect the fact that love and trust prevails and that if this relationship was met to move further then , so be it. I thought it weird and strange at the beginning of the film for me but, it did captivated my action absolutely. Thank you for this amazing message and short film. Stay healthy 👍🌹☕🎻🧸
It seems today we all go through the honeymoon stage, then BAM; we realize it's not true love, but we feel this incredible feeling that we must stick with it because we either don't want to hurt the other person or we'll feel guilty for breaking it off because they're a nice person. Feeling comfortable with another person isn't enough because after a while you realize you're in a relationship, but you're still lonely. If there is indeed true love and soulful love then you'll never feel alone; the adventure must continue with delight. Nice film...thank you.
Robin It is called unconditional love love for real Love's sake the love in BEloved love -------> ACTion the love a child gives to his / her mother Real love
@@eparedes7165 I'm probably a little cynical. We all want unconditional love, but that's rare with people. I say, show who you really are in the beginning and if there's a heartfelt connection after you truly see someone's true colors, then the love will get stronger. Life is not a fairytale and happy endings, it's the everyday difficulties, but knowing you have the right person standing beside you and fighting, then you have unconditional love.
Her 'Dad' left her about the age of 5 after she said, "I love you". Could she do the same thing to him? The cycle had to be broken. (I hoped so.) The story and the acting were emotional and well done. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The backdrop of Barcelona was nice, too. * * * * */ 5 Stars
Yeah I am overwhelmed with it because I haven't seen such a great story in shorts . Love it the way how the girl chose love over fear because she had an avoiding character and during the time when the girl started crying, what I thought that may b she haven't had such a feeling with any one and now she got it or it may b any other thing that she was going through in her life and when she thinks of it she would be filled with tears in her eye. Because our eyes says everything that we can't explain it through words
I just want a partner to feel this love "in the moment" because I didn't find any till date. All of them were needy or greedy or I don't know or don't want to remember . It's sad that people are in such a hurry and don't even stop to appreciate the moment of happiness and ironically just keep chasing it .
Sometimes, you just need to try and love again. I know, it's a painful experience, heartbreak; but, it is better to have loved, than to never love at all.
It really is very aesthetic and reminds me of old novels ... Really ends up changing my perspective , it's like a thick fog of noise and fakeness is blown away and i see a clearer and more beautiful version of life.
same as here. kind of i just want to be with a partner then i could be myself and enjoy the moment. don't have to think too much. and not comitment, no attachment. freedom
I think Julia was traveling the world to run away. Maybe the universe planned to stop her a moment and enjoy life and love. We are told our heartbreaks are our karma, maybe we were in the wrong place at the wrong time, yet we are shown that sometimes we can be at the right place at the right time, and if you are so fortunate, take time to savor the sweetness of a small cake or a breakfast from someone who wants to love you.
Oh Barcalona , i came to visited it for the first time all the way from vienna to meet a girl thought she was my love of life … we spent a beautiful time together in the city , but she broke up with me because she had some problems mentally unfortunately…. I've pretty same story like this movie. A pretty woman from Europe bright brown eyes and black hair went to BALI for holiday.. shorts.. we met and lived together for 30 days. It's really romantic story she enjoyed together with me as a local people. The day she go back she wake me up and cried while hugging me. Missed her so much.

That was beautiful. I know what it is to regret losing out on something good. Never ever throw away your treasure. So many people sacrifice their treasure everyday with much regret. It is do sad.
I fell in love like this once, but I wasn't wise enough to make the decision not to go. That's a decision I regret and not one that I would recommend. If you find love, embrace it, nurture it and hold on to it. It's worth it.
I found this actress to be so beautiful and charming, that I was oblivious to everything else in the story. - I'll just have to watch it again a few more times ☺
Bravo! An amazing film. The videography is stunning, the shots of the city, their faces & intimacy were beautifully done! The writing & acting is spot on. Among the best romantic short movies I've seen! You fall in love with the city & them as a couple and begin cheering for love to win out in spite of our preconceived plans.
Omeleto, 'you get me under my skin', yes, I'm over 60 and I encountered the "similar" events in all cities you showed, it made me brake for a while... but I started again.
Will someone sign this beautiful woman? She needs to be on the Big Screen and is it just me, and is anyone else also feeling that she may have wanted to stay with him and was waiting for him to give her some sort of sign that he wanted her to stay? I mean isn't that the reason for her tears, and why she called him from the taxi? This is one of my favorite short films.
Seems like the kind of thing many solo travelers want to have. It can be a little difficult to watch all the couples that are common around tourist destinations. You're missing part of the experience you see others having when you're by yourself.
When leaving the place you have found tears your heart out and you see it shattering in small pieces at your feet.

When you are living on a tropical island with beautiful white beaches, warm crystal-clear sea water....where you don't pay half your earnings in taxes, no war-mongering, no gun violence, no drug epidemics, no caging children at any borders, no ignorant racist hillbillies....in other words, anywhere but the U.S. and Europe....
I have never been into a relationship yet, but this is great film I've ever seen, such a good work and fascinating about the traveler and stranger met in the taxi..
I know, as as a ground level traveler across this globe for 40 years, how this leads to both lifelong relationships and lifelong broken heart...... comes with the territory of what life is and circumstances thrown at us and the choices we make C'est la vie
The Spanish are like that though. I know, I lived there for 24 years, and I'm counting the days before I return once again. It could be Barcelona or it could be Madrid but I've been in these kind of situations so many times. Life is very short or as they say in Spanish: 'La vida son dos días'. The actor was perfectly sincere about his intentions and his boyish-mannish looks are to die for.
Thank you Allen. What a wonderful film, beautifully shot with a gorgeous couple just falling in love. I never thought a boiled egg or cake could be so symbolic. Gracias.
How sad that so many people have commitment issues, it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have tried.....fear of loss is a powerful emotion, like when someone one betrays another’s trust!!!
I live in south east asia and i ecounter a bit too many women, most who are now in mid 40s and usually european who threw their relationships some even their marriages away and are just hopping from one country to the next to see the world, party and bang every week, im not judging in anyway, you are free to do what you like with your life.. but 99% of them carry a great saddness with them, or remense about an ex relationship the had with someone for a long time before leaving them, either by cheating on them or being cheated on. I always ask what they see their future be like in 5 to 10 years. the answer is always the same: i wanna do this till the end.
A most insightful comment you made, regarding your own experience of solo female travellers. I've enjoyed backpacking & the short affairs that took place, where it's often painful upon saying goodbye. But your statement certainly carries weight regarding loneliness. I do think you have you to look at the broader picture, which in comment you seem to omit. The multitude of reasons why said persons took off in the first place? Everyone has their own reasons. Coming back to my own view, my longest relationships that of two both five years each. I look at my own parents, certainly a labour of love, somewhat of a love/hate relationship sometimes. Keeping a relationship vibrant, fresh, exciting & to reinvigorate is challenging, but well worth it for the long haul flight for lasting love.
@@weepingwillow-ud6xl first of all, i think i have never seen a comment on youtube to be written this nicely. secondly, i agree with what you are saying and i understand it perfectly. My comment is just one of many aspects that makes this subject and i in no way think that "THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO LOOK AT THIS MATTER" and i hope i didnt came accorss as that. Each person carry a world with them and like me and everyone ells, trying to get through life the best they can. i do believe also that people now, man or woman have also lost sight of a bigger picture and are desperate to find it again or have given up entirly and are just riding it out. I do also believe that we kinda have lost sight of love nowdays as people either take it for granted or bail out too quick or just have the wrong view about it from get go, as you have mentioned, its challenging but less and less people are interested in taking on the challenge. People from my generation ( gen y and melenials ) in particular are lost as they are struggeling even more with life, trying to figure out, do i wanna marry? do i want a career? kids? travel ? bang around ? sadly more than a few choose all of the above and naturaly fail in making it work.

My biggest fantasy was always to meet my future husband through traveling. At a random place like this, waiting for a taxi, or photographing the same sight, asking for directions...
It will happen oh yes, but literally when you least expect it. Dating apps forget them! Bars, clubs too!
Did you found one yet?
@@Jamess0090 I randomly thought of this short film and searched it up to watch it while I’m waiting at the airport. I even forgot I ever commented on this video. To answer your question, I have lots of lovely moments with strangers while traveling. Most of the time I get into conversations because of my analog picture taking or because I keep bumping into the same guy in one day. And there are have been other lovely coincidences. I haven’t found the one so far. But I feel all giddy anyway as if I’m in love
My testosterone and my male ego would say it's cheezy but my soul and heart are yearning for that kind of dreamed story...

The taxi scene turning the corner with her crying was the cue for me. She was ready to be free. The humanity of connection, as complex as it can be, is simply choice. I love how each scene present that concept. I see myself in this short. Thank you!
Pau is so smooth. Damn. He manages to woo someone with an avoidant attachment style with such ease.

I once was told “there is true bliss in falling in love, but there can be true terror in falling too.”
Rising in Love is SO much better
Because we shouldn't "fall" in love as you say in English, but go inside the love of another person as we say in italian 😊 "innamorarsi di" -->be inside love of someone else.
Lonely Planet is my favorite life changing travel book. Earth rocks!
Great acting and writing, and the final scene with all the conflicting emotions fighting within her, but very little shown on the face, wonderful!
A beautiful story. So glad it ended with hope because to many moments of happiness end too soon. Loved this.
Life is not about seeing the world.
Life is about being with your soulmate.
Quality > Quantity.
I love that line "the perfect place to spend a day you may end up remembering forever.
Have a few of them so far.

I don't think I've seen a short that stuck with me before. It's like my spirit was in this one
How beautiful it is to love someone who loves you back
Aw, I wish this was longer. I really liked it.
I know exactly what you mean. Been through the pain...each time I wonder ...why can't it be different this time ?

I think Julia was traveling the world to run away. Maybe the universe planned to stop her a moment and enjoy life and love. We are told our heartbreaks are our karma, maybe we were in the wrong place at the wrong time, yet we are shown that sometimes we can be at the right place at the right time, and if you are so fortunate, take time to savor the sweetness of a small cake or a breakfast from someone who wants to love you.

Will someone sign this beautiful woman? She needs to be on the Big Screen and is it just me,
and is anyone else also feeling that she may have wanted to stay with him and was waiting for him to give her some sort of sign that he wanted her to stay? I mean isn't that the reason for her tears, and why she called him from the taxi? This is one of my favorite short films.
Seems like the kind of thing many solo travelers want to have. It can be a little difficult to watch all the couples that are common around tourist destinations. You're missing part of the experience you see others having when you're by yourself.
Well, that was really heart touching. This is one of the best romantic short film I've ever seen.
How long is the journey to find the place you never have to leave and how do you know when you have found It ?
you know you've found it when leaving takes you just around the block LOL !
When leaving the place you have found tears your heart out and you see it shattering in small pieces at your feet.

The Spanish are like that though. I know, I lived there for 24 years, and I'm counting the days before I return once again. It could be Barcelona or it could be Madrid but I've been in these kind of situations so many times. Life is very short or as they say in Spanish: 'La vida son dos días'.
