I seem to have been listening to Mr Walker for most of my life. Intelligent and articulate with a speaking voice to rival our great actors. Later in life he interviewed bands - just asked a simple open question and sat back whilst they talked. So called "professional" interviewers could learn from him

Perfectly summed up at 3:55 Johnnie, "big bad government comes along and says people are having too much fun, we've got to stop it". Spot on Mr Walker......Britain has ALWAYS been the same.

Worth a shot, thanks for that. I also worked on the Ross in August 1987 and did many boat trips to The Lady for a couple of years before. Don't know if have any of those. Long shot I know. Thanks again. Mickey.

@Malcyd1 I don't think I have Mickey, only a shorter version of the same package. I do have loads of old clips on VHS though, so there may be more hidden away somewhere, I'm slowly going through my old tapes and will upload anything 'watery wireless' if I find anything :)

Excellent, not seen this before. Have you got any more news clips of this station? The reason I ask is this is the only footage that I have seen with me in it. I'm the one in the Laser 558 shirt.

Even Radio 1, being ridiculously placed exclusively on medium wave only, with only occasionally being available on the FM frequency of Radio 2, sounded like pirate radio! What’s the point of putting a radio station promoting all the latest hit tunes (and the odd oldie - there’s only so many songs from the singles chart you can play - maybe the odd album track could go out) on an appalling quality medium wave frequency, in mono!
People who bought fancy radiograms and ghetto blasters did so to hear all the latest hits in stereo - some people assumed that, because it’s coming out through both speakers, it’s stereo!
