Is Ohio State clearly one of the top 4 College Football teams in the country?
question is would Ohio State be an underdog to any of the 126 other schools not in the top 4? The answer to that is an easy no.
w/ just 5 games and they earned it? ... it's more like anointed!
I personally believe there should be a play-in between OSU and A&M. Then we can determine if Ohio State is top-4 worthy

Joel is a far better debator with twisting and turning arguments. Last week Colin attacked BYU and klatt defended them. Three days later BYU’s losing to coastal carolina. Colin usually seems to be more correct in the long term than Joel, but people fail to see that because Joel can outclass Colin from a debate standpoint.

To be fair literally every big analyst said the same thing.
I see why Minnesota was a very good team last year did anyone actually expect them to turn out like they did ? No . I thought it would have been Ohio State and Minnesota in big ten championship at the beginning of this season and then Michigan went out and man handled them with a new QB that played outstanding in his first start ever but after that game Michigan looked like the better team over Ohio state after kinda struggling against Nebraska I’m not an college football expert I’m 100% Ohio State biased die hard fan but I promise you after week 1 every Ohio State fan thought Michigan has a chance IDC who you are ... if you told me Michigan would turn out to be at the bottom of the Big 10 east after how well they played after that game I’d told you that you have no idea about college football and you were an idiot . But Boy was I wrong .... lol Go Bucks !!!

I know. Same here. All the years of covering the draft and then I want to hear what his assessments of those players now that they’re in the league. But it feels like his passion is college football.

Ugh re-watching in late 2023 after Joy has her own show. I miss the dynamic with these two. Klatt is just icing on the cake. Great weekly guest and solid voice of college football.

Joel, klatt said ohiostate fans are not gonna like this, and me being an ohiostate fan, I can't say I like it, but I wouldn't be mad at that outcome. I'd totally agree with it if the committee decided that. I wouldn't be mad if that scenario played out and we didn't make it, because those teams would truly deserve it. On the other hand though, if OhioState somehow wins the title, that would instantly make Ryan Day the best coach in the country to me because of what this team had to go through just to even get the chance to play at all this season. Just my opinion
Still should take an undefeated power 5 conference champion over a one loss non conference champion.

random buckeye fan's take. if you asked "is ohio state one of the top 4 teams?" id say yes! but, you asked "is ohio state -clearly- one of the top 4 teams?" no. it's not a no brainer. i believe they are top 4, but it's not a matter of fact. we haven't been able to play enough games, so if someone has florida, or a&m or even cinci in front of them, i can't get butthurt about it. i disagree, but those people are not dumb for thinking those things.

Geez, Michigan is not to Ohio St what Auburn is to Alabama. Auburn can and has beaten Alabama and has won their conference and has a national title this century. A better comparison is SC to Clemson.
At this point in time sure. Go back to the 90s and see what choke artist Cooper did. South Carolina outside of Spurrier has always been garbage. Michigan has been legit maybe not since Carr retired, but even this century they have been good
Ohio St played 5 games which makes them 50% less likely on playing games that could lead to an upset. Why don’t we look at both sides & not just 1. If you play 5 games there should be no way your in the playoffs. At least make a play-in game. Ohio St Vs Texas A&M & the winner gets in. This assuming Bama wins out.
Committee stated that there will be no minimum number of games in a COVID-19 season. So there's that.

No cuz the SEC is banking on the ability to have 2 teams in the playoff no matter what thereby increasing their odds to make $60 million for the conference.

If non power five teams have no chance of making it to college playoffs, why bother ranking them in CFB rankings?
If Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson win out A&M deserves to be in but no one wants to see another 28 point blowout against Bama in the first round

This year was the best opportunity to have a 8 team playoff. Most teams will have about ten games this year when normally its 12 for the regular season. In this year of crazy and unexpected.

If ND beats Clemson and Bama beats Florida, A&M is getting in. ESPN will probably have A&M jump Ohio State to get to 3. So Bama v Ohio State and ND v A&M.
