Really really cool setup!! Ive been thinking about this setup and was wondering if something like this would work.. I was pondering that idea of the first gear pinion spinning both gears.. Just couldnt rap my head around till you put out this videos..
Thanks! Ιt not only works but it also works on track giving the car better fuel economy and better acceleration. After many fuel tanks and some reliability corrections nothing has gone wrong and the car works well. I get around 12 minutes of running around the track whilst my other gt car makes something like 6-7minutes. Battery at the end of the run is in at 3.75 volts/cell. So it requires a lipo change after every run
This is brilliant I was thinking of doing the same and found your video ... still don't understand how the throttle can control both the servo and esc. Would love to see more videos
hello i am doing a similar project, it's being a while for you but maybe we could chat a bit if that's ok with you. i dont understand how can the two moteurs be connected by the same gear and not interfere with each other. How did you connect the electronics together ? if somebody with answers comes by feel free to share them as well nice job completing the build.
Hello. I would gladly give you some advice on the project. I have changed it over and over again. Finally for relibility reasons dumped the two gear transmission. Isuggest you do the same. I can send you a video in case you find it difficult to understand. Now it works perfectly well without any damage. I am using a nitro motor with its own pinion driving a spur and a brushless motor with its own opinion gear driving another spur gear but both spur gears are mounted on the same axis. You can mix the power and torque curves of a nitro and brushless motors and do amazing stuff. The car is fast and reliable.

That's amazing, do u know what rpm 2nd gear kicks in? Also Means u can check gearbox before driving, with nitro only very hard to tell without driving

It is adjustable but it does it pretty fast.
