I'm not surprised people walked past her. I've seen that over and over and over about people in the states. Happens on the roads too. A shocking accident happens right in front of someone and they put down their accelerator and drive on by. Maybe it's because there is so much violence, death and mayhem daily, many have disconnected and lost their humanity. But it's very sad. Btw I'm Australian, and would like to think we as a culture, haven't reached that level of disconnect......yet. Wishing and hoping the victim gets the support she needs to heal, physically and mentally. And well done to this young lady, who did what was needed in the moment, and acted with selfless love towards a stranger in need. America is in this weird situation where a large portion of the populus doesn't want to be proactive or respectful about anything.
And this culture of "Every Man for himself" is highly encouraged. Basically isolating people who don't agree with this.
      It's not right. Yes
But the typical response you will get is, "That's just how life is."

We came to a time where asking people if they need help leads to problems. I have had not one but many cases. Once I tried to help a woman carry some bags, she screamed at me and said I should mind my business. Once I met a woman on the street where her car was broken. I was with my bike. She went in her car and said to me I have the spray so don't come any closer. All I said is if she needs any help. I then moved a bit away and told her that I will inform the Police when I am in the city. I mean at that location there was no signal and cars were not going that way that often. So yes, the society we have created, even when someone is dying we just look at them. Kind of reminds me like animal kingdom.

My Lord, what is the world coming to, in my country, the emergency personnel would have to be asking for room to get to her, and the Police and ambulance service will be saying we got the report already thanks.
