Won't catch me out in rain like that....on purpose, but that gear looks awesome to throw in the tail bag in case Oregon's crazy weather strikes while on a long ride.
@@wilsmith9230 I have a nice textile jacket with a zip out hoodie. that does a great job during the fall and if it gets too cold in the winter I just put on a thermal underneath it to stay warm. In the rain I just throw on a waterproof outer shell to go over the textile jacket. I like the look of a nice sturdy leather jacket, but the maintenance on them to keep them nice is tedious. And they get really heavy when they're rain soaked.
@@christopher7310 what name of the jacket? Also I wear a hoodie in 50f weather with a t-shirt. Will I be ok with just a jacket and a hoodie at 30f weather 40f?
@@wilsmith9230 I wear the street and steel anarchy jacket. And I love it. but I would say you definitely don't want to ride with a hoodie and a t-shirt at anything below 50°. Unless you will be doing a lot of standing or sitting on the bike and not moving. Once you get up to speed, you're going to freeze. And, just as important as a nice warm jacket, make sure you have nice warm gloves. I'm still looking for a nice set of gloves that keep my hands dry and warm. the gloves I have stop being useful right around fall.
Love the real world testing! I wanted to know if the fabric breathes at all with the vents closed when riding in the rain. My other question is i wanted to wear my Hotwire jacket underneath it on colder days - do you see any reason not to do that? Thanks!
Looks nice, like most gear reviews I would like to have a set....but only a 32" inseam misses me by 4" . Jacket's sleeve length would require a 5x. When my chest size is an XL. Like most gear, not a ton of choices when your body size is outside the norm. Just double checking, but we do realize that not everyone is 5' 8" right?? That's okay, I just tell everyone that knicker m/c pants are the newest style.
The knicker Moto pants are gonna be the hottest item of 2020!!!! That's awesome, but seriously I feel it. I'm a bit broader in the shoulders than the average dude, so when I get up to a size of jacket that fits my shoulders nicely, I have a hoop skirt at the bottom of the thing and it just looks and feels sloppy.
Couple of issues/questions...I am 5'8", 145, 28.5" inseam. Sedici Garda jacket in Medium fits me perfectly (great!). Looks good in black and love the fact that it is waterproof...or is it? Your review is great and your experience in the rain seems to be pretty conclusive that it is waterproof. But...Every other review I have seen says it is NOT waterproof. Which is it? Next, the Garda pants are ridiculous! I guess that Sedici/Revzilla/Cycle Gear only want to sell to people who are 6'+. What marketing genius came up with only one length size for all the pants? I guess that I would have to buy Rev'it pants (I'm told by Revzilla that the Factor 4 pants fit the Garda jacket) in order to have full coverage!? Is this a case of reviewing your own product like BTN thinks?
How will this jacket do in CA summer weather between 80-100 degrees? This jacket has all the features I'm looking for. Just not sure if the vents will be good enough and directly onto my body w/o liner blocking the airflow. I don't remember you mentioned if there is liner blocking the airflow directly onto the skin. Nice review btw, now I know is good in the rain!
If you watch our CTXP Episode linked below, you will see the Garda getting used in the desert heat without issue. Keep in mind that any/every laminated WP jacket will be hotter than say a Mesh jacket, but that comes with the territory of wanting WP'ing. The direct vents help move air through so as long as you are moving along down the road, you will get a nice breeze through the vents. I certainly understand where you're coming from. I've had some Sedici & Bilt gear in the past that I wasn't too fond of. With that said, our team, (both CG and RZ) have worked really hard at improving the line and listening to our customer's feedback. There's a lot of new gear coming from Sedici and Bilt that I have no hesitation recommending to my fellow riding buddies and I wasn't always confident doing so in the past. I think a lot of riders would have a hard time being disappointed with the performance and protection the Sedici Garda Jacket & Pants provide. You might be thinking, "Well you work at RevZilla, you have to say that." I do work at RevZilla but I could have read this comment and ignored it entirely and my day wouldn't have changed one bit. @@RevZilla I appreciate the reply, the main reason I shop revzilla is the customer service and glad to see it extends to youtube as well. So disappointed when I realized that Revzilla was bought by Cycle Gear. Now you're pushing that Sedici and Bilt garbage. Its poorly designed, poorly made, absolutely NO QC (uneven sleeves, zippers, pant legs, inconsistent sizing, etc) and barely lasts through one riding season. Its not a good value, its cheap.
I wouldn't say all of it is garbage. Been riding a year and a half with a Bilt jacket I paid 200 bucks for. I ride year round here in Pennsylvania and in 1.5 years and 22k miles which included 2 winter seasons I was actually astounded at how well the jacket performs in 4 seasons. Down from 26 too a 100 degrees I can adjust the jacket to the temperatures with it's vents and liners. Main beefs are Velcro not sticking when it should. Now when I read the reviews for the Klima gear where your paying 1-2k for riding gear I would be pissed at paying that kind of money and not being completely satisfied with a product. I also have the Sedici Ultimo boots which are very comfortable, so much so I'll get lazy and not bother taking them off if I know I'll be riding later in the day. Actually wear them while mowing my grass. Can't vouch for crash protection cause I havn't crashed yet but I feel they'll protect me. I also had a pair of Bilt gloves that were trashed in 1 week of use so now I look over my purchases more carefully. I aggresivley ride an R 1150 R
@@markhilken7026 glad you got a good one, seriously. Ive just had 2 pairs of gloves that didn't make it through one season, a jacket that had the stitches start to unravel and a zipper break in 6 months. I bought a pair of riding jeans that had the Kevlar start to pull out, then when I bought a replacement pair in the same style and size, they fit like they were 2 sizes bigger. I wouldn't base my opinion on one piece of equipment.
Just ordered REAX perforated leather gloves in white and a Merlin Hamlin hoodie - gets here on Thursday 😎
