Well naturally with the way woman can easily become victims of murder crimes and sex crimes committed against them mostly by men and where men can easily overpower most women, women will have that instinct to stay on guard at all times. As a woman myself, it becomes second nature to make sure you protect yourself from danger. Whether a woman decides to listen to that instinct or not makes or breaks their potential of becoming the next victim.

The fact that the girls could instantly feel something was wrong with Joe and how the male friend kept telling her she was being paranoid is how it is irl too. He kept defending joes actions as romance. This happens a-lot when women point out something a man does that makes them feel uncomfortable. Female friends would instantly know to be vigilant but male friends will chalk it up to them being paranoid.

Okay, I'll give it to you, turning up at her house was slightly stalker like behaviour- but it might have been an alternate route to work and he might've just wanted to see what kind of place she had- I've done it to co-workers (male AND female) out of curiosity when I wanted to take a more circuitous route home so I can ride my bike (but not aimlessly, I don't enjoy aimless riding I need a destination.) As long as he only did it once it's not a problem- I've never intentionally gone to a co-worker's street after the first time and I've only done it to like three co-workers, I'm not gonna go that far out of my way, it's just a side-destination, a reason to expand my riding radius.
The online shit looking at her profiles etc, that's not stalker behaviour either- EVERYONE does that. You gotta know who you're dealing with, it's why we ask for Instagram now instead of a phone number. With IG we can see the shit you get up to and if you're in like five places with bikinis and on boats and shit- you're a whore and most dudes will smash and pass you. Your IG is basically a reflection of whether you're run through or not. If your IG checks out that you're not just a one night stand then your FB profile is the next port of call- learn if you have any pets (compassion), kids (liabilities), what your family is like, where you work so what sort of income you're earning as to what kind of girl you are- if you're working at an office but on a yacht in your IG, some shit isn't adding up.
It's not stalking, it's background checking, vetting to make sure of who you are before I commit resources to wooing you. It's the modern equivalent of asking around about you to see what you're about- which imo is more creepy because then you know about it- whereas what you don't know, won't bother you.

his smile was predatory, on an instinctual level, women/people can sense that because we are also animals. animals dont use language which can be honeslty disracting at times but read body language and tone of voice and facial expression and eyes. joes eyes and expression were those of a predators. Women can sometiems be a bit more intune with their animal instincts because they often can be dealing with hyper vigilance, especially in countries and eras of high crimes, and or violence towards women by men so they can "sense'/ see when a man is predatory.

Someone pointed out it’s interesting the show is called “you” and it’s about a psycho-stalker falling in love with a woman who doesn’t seem to reciprocate his same feelings. So if you are watching this show, when people ask, “what are you watching?”….the answer instinctively would be, “you”. So it makes you sound like a psycho-stalker like the main character.

That show is so good, and so creepy. The women reacting to it were spot on. It’s so important to trust your gut instinct when it comes to things like that. I tell my daughters that, if someone gives you a strange vibe, trust yourself. Don’t be mean as in bullying, but make sure you are in a safe location and/or with friends. And call me or dad lol

The social media stalking part we can forgive bcz ppl's profiles are public but not every1 follows their "crush" around or install cameras in their house. Even tho he saw Joe doing that he was still like "wait thats not stalking" prob thinking maybe something else wud be revealed to show Joe's motivations for doing that but no matter what it cud be, its still stalking. I do think the one guy tried to look at Joe’s actions in a positive light instead of what was actually happening on screen because he didn’t have a context to what the series was. His initial thoughts were a romance series, therefore I don’t think he picked up on the wtf Joe was doing that the rest of them did.
I know when I initially watched this forever ago, I thought it was just a romance before I started the episode(though quickly caught those flags)

I am glad you guys reacted to "YOU" it's one of the best shows ever to be made, at least for me, since its my favorite show, good's up to the actor that played "JOE GOLDBERG"...He did an amazing job, spectacular acting, the best I have seen and the other actors Aswell, I can't wait for season 5..but it will come out in 2024, but its wroth my wait. Love it.
