Even if the movie was not that good I must say this episode of Double Toasted for me was them both at their funniest. I completely enjoyed watching this episode. Lots of fun, you guys are great!
12:44 I think Martin nailed it, thats the real reason right there. I was only half interested in this movie because of all the fuss kicked up to do with N-Korea, then the Sony hack. Once i saw the trailer it just looked like some ol' bullshit
I'm glad they made this movie for the sole purpose of having you guys review it because this review honestly had me in tears at the very end with cory singing then "f*ck you martin" lmao! love it!
Would a friend tell another friend if he has lint in his hair? Bad form Martin...bad form. As for the review, thank you. I usually only watch reviews after I have seen the movie. Don't plan on seeing this one so the entertainment from this review makes up for that.
This wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. It isn't great, but it certainly isn't terrible. There were cringe-inducing parts of this (there are times where someone should have said "Cut!", as some of the jokes go on longer than they should), but there is something worthwhile in this film. The concept here is overall good. "If you can make God bleed, would be less likely to believe?" I give this film a High Rental to low Matinee.
Hell maybe Sony honeydicked us all because they thought "we might not make all our money back from making this movie. Let's make up a threat and some other bs to make it seem like this movie won't be released then put it out online to build up hype to have more people watch it."
***** That was just a sarcastic thought. I'm sure all the threats were real and serious. The movie had hype once news of Sony getting hacked and everyone was saying North Korea got pissed about it. I just don't think this movie would have done that good if it was released in theaters being you pretty much get the plot and everything in the trailer.
Or there plan was to say "screw" you to the studio since Sony Pictures the past few years has had some issues over the way they want to release some of there films and the way the studio said they should release the film.
I'm with korey on the kim Un part of the movie I laughed alot. A few in the first half but tht 2nd half felt alil bigger except for the actually interview scene. I'd imagine our drone pilots are more professionals but maybe not
Im with Martin on this. Anything that has come out of Seth Rogan, as in originated, usually falls below my expectations. In my opinion, Seth Rogan needs to mature his comedy a little bit. He has it in him. I usually like the premise of all his comedies, but it stops at the concept. The more it is fleshed out, it really begins to feel like a half baked stoner idea. Even This is The End, which is his best outing, grates on my nerves after a while. And to the point of these movies feeling like Adam Sandler's, I would say that Will Ferrell captures that old feeling far more than Rogan. Bottom line, Rogan can do better, and for whatever reason, hes spread thin. Maybe hes better played than player.
The woman who says, "We'd like you to take him out." Is that the same girl who was in GET HIM TO THE GREEK? In the office where Sergio(diddy) is saying we need a game changer and he plays that rap song. She's the red head with the glasses right?
Ok guys, I know you were in Night Attack episode 3, but try not to recreate their domestic dispute ;-). But really though, even though I rented this, got super baked for it and watched it with friends, I didn't really like it. I stepped out for a smoke and didn't even bother stopping it, and I had it on demand!!
The Kim depiction was the only thing that kept the movie afloat once they got to North Korea JMHO. .Rogens scenes were corny (Anal/Tiger..the romance..fingers bitten off) and Franco ran out of steam fast too. The food stand was the missed opportunity because there is a actual town in Korea along with the tourist hotel that tries to portray a booming economy. That would've been funnier than what they went for which was honestly. .lazy.
I thought this movie had its moments, and I actually liked it better than "This is the End". I liked the music, I thought special effects were good (I liked the helicopter crashing behind the tank, IMO it was a great shot), but overall this movie is as dumb as it is stupid, probably not meant to be anything more than that anyway. Renting at home is the best way to see it, and thank God that's how it was released.
I knew this movie was going to be bad...still don't know what all the fuss was about. I think I laughed a lot more during this review than during the actual movie lol.
The problem with comparing MLK's looks with Kim's is that with Kim his looks are one of the main features. Whenever someone mentions his name you think about his baby face :)
the thing with this movie is that it fails as a comedy and fails as a satire, at best it's a satire on americans but i cant even tell if thats intended so everyone involved just looks like an asshole. i agree with Martin on the premise of this is like....stoner humour at its lowest. self-righteous stoners.
+KimmimaruSai They are both partially right, the movie is terrible, but it's better than anything Adam Sandler has ever done (well, so is the testscreen).
I've been waiting for you two to review this movie since Sony put it out online! I agree with Korey, the first half was stupid and annoying but I liked it when they got to North Korea. The best part of the first half for me was the Eminem joke. I think this movie was dumb but it has a funny satire side to it but still a dumb movie. Hard to believe a movie this dumb caused so much controversy. Also I thought this movie was better than I expected and if nothing's on TV its a decent 5 buck rental.
***** To me the Eminem part in the beginning was just the funniest part in the first half. I agree I don't think that part landed universally felt that part was about 10 years to late but it was the part in the first half that made me laugh.
Yeah I think only certain people would get the Eminem part. There is only a number of people that remember the controversy from a few years ago with him and the gay community saying he was homophobic.
Yeah the controversy with Eminem and the gay community saying he was homophobic happened around 2001. So that's why I think only certain people would find that joke funny. It certainly was the funniest part of the first half for me more so than the Rob Lowe joke and that other joke with the goat.
Maybe king-Jon-uh said,"this movie sucks,I demand to hack the company.my drama movies is better that this shet!"(that is my prediction,I'm not saying that he actually said it but this look like a funny movie)
Actually, am I the only one who finds it funny that apparently the movie is only available in America and is region locked for anyone OUTSIDE of the US. Well, guess what Sony you greedy/paranoid bastards, I'm torrenting this bitch and I ain't gonna feel bad about it.
Smash Bro Yeaaaah, I'm gonna call a big fat load of bull and shit. They could have not simply released in the Asian market and allowed people from Europe and Russian to watch it, but instead they gave the whole world a middle finger. Well, guess what people are torrenting this moving and giving Sony a good one in return.
Kanashe You're trying to make stealing sound way more righteous than it actually is. I'm personally fine with torrenting, sometimes people have no other option, but don't sit here and try to pretend you're proving something, or fighting for a cause by essentially stealing a movie, that isn't even that good in the first place. Maybe you shouldn't interpret the situation as Sony giving the rest of the world a middle finger. That's a very negative interpretation of the situation, that you're obviously imposing, for no other reason than to justify piracy on your part. Which again, I'm fine with. I couldn't care less about what YOU use torrents for, but don't try to pretend Sony actually gives a damn, or anyone else for that matter.
Smash Bro Well for once, Sony is gonna lose money from all the torrenting. Now, it won't be big sums and frankly I doubt it'll affect 'em. But yeah, I don't care how a bad interpretation it is, they are being twats for doing this bull and frankly they do deserve to lose their money for such horseshit. Seriously, they could have just restricted tihis movie to Asian viewers. But noooooo...Let's region lock it for everyone, but the burger munching fat bastards in Yank-town.
Kanashe You think people should be stolen from because they're dicks? It's a movie. They don't owe you a god damn thing, yet you sound so entitled. It's just a movie. It's not even that good. If you think Americans are "burger munching fat bastards" you probably wont even like this movie. It's very pro America, and honestly, you're not missing out on anything. Your life wont be any better, or worse after watching this movie.
Comedy is the only genre where I'll usually disagree with you guys. I'm convinced we just have a different sense of humor when it comes to movies because I think your show going back to Spill days has always been pretty hilarious. With that said I thought this movie was very funny, Franco did an excellent job, and I enjoyed it way more than many other comedies like Horrible Bosses or This is the End. I'd easily give it a Full Price.
DELTABOY04 I didn’t see it, but Franco was pretty funny from what I’ve seen so far. I don’t like the stoner comedy stuff they do, but they have more than that. When it gets too much, they do scale down.
Martin and Korey's arguments are just priceless! Every. Single. Time!!
I'm sorry, but Martin was right. This was BARELY worth a rental.
Fancy seeing you here AnimatedJames.
Agreed, Martin was right.
Yep! I'm with you martin'
TBH it gave me like 3 good laughs, but this shit is 2 hours long. So yeah it is a rental.
***** yeah, barely worth it. On the other hand i think some parts in the middle with fake kim jon on were pretty good.
Even if the movie was not that good I must say this episode of Double Toasted for me was them both at their funniest. I completely enjoyed watching this episode. Lots of fun, you guys are great!
Totally agree.
It's so weird seeing them in the same shot at the end
the only good thing the interview brought up was this awesome DOUBLE TOASTED review!
Billy Spencer Weird thing is, this movie wasn't that bad.
12:44 I think Martin nailed it, thats the real reason right there. I was only half interested in this movie because of all the fuss kicked up to do with N-Korea, then the Sony hack. Once i saw the trailer it just looked like some ol' bullshit
Randall Park saved this movie. He's an awesome comedic actor.
I'm glad they made this movie for the sole purpose of having you guys review it because this review honestly had me in tears at the very end with cory singing then "f*ck you martin" lmao! love it!
Rev To Redline Ha...Oh, it’s Korey, btw.
I'm with Martin. I smiled a few times but never really laughed. It's a loooooow rental.
Would a friend tell another friend if he has lint in his hair? Bad form Martin...bad form.
As for the review, thank you. I usually only watch reviews after I have seen the movie. Don't plan on seeing this one so the entertainment from this review makes up for that.
Grandpa Martin needs a hug.
I prefer the experience of going to a theater rather than sitting at home watching it.
In one of the Harold and Kamar movies their is a guy playing George W bush who looks nothing like W.
These are alot funnier than reviews from spill and the reel deal. You're the face of the internet Corey!
When Did they switch spots? Previously, it was the other way
Your dedication to your craft is evident.
There already is an adam sandler 2.0 his name is tyler perry :)
Martin has this look of being put on the spot. And Korey is disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing.
Funniest review in a while.
This wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. It isn't great, but it certainly isn't terrible. I just don't think this movie would have done that good if it was released in theaters being you pretty much get the plot and everything in the trailer.
And part of their plan was to lose millions over hacks?
Or there plan was to say "screw" you to the studio since Sony Pictures the past few years has had some issues over the way they want to release some of there films and the way the studio said they should release the film.
I'm with korey on the kim Un part of the movie I laughed alot. A few in the first half but tht 2nd half felt alil bigger except for the actually interview scene. I'd imagine our drone pilots are more professionals but maybe not
Old man Martin strikes again.
This may be the funniest review yet!
YES, MARTIN... YES!!!
That notice at 15:44 had perfect comedic timing LMFAO!!!!
I see where Martin's coming from, but I 120% agree with Korey on how annoying James Franco was in the beginning, but the film got funnier to me.
LOL I thought I was the only who thought Eminem favored Kevin Spacey XD
Can someone explain to me how they rate the movies, like what are the levels
Korey put those chat comments onscreen on purpose at 8:43 to see what people said about Martin.
I hate when people rag on stoners when a majority of successful and famous people smoke herb or do worse. Love double Toasted though lol
I actually enjoyed the movie.
This movie was super funny.
The woman who says, "We'd like you to take him out." Is that the same girl who was in GET HIM TO THE GREEK? In the office where Sergio(diddy) is saying we need a game changer and he plays that rap song. She's the red head with the glasses right?
9:54 Because you're guilty of this as well.
Why did Martin give it a Rental if he didn't like anything about it?
This review was funny af LOL love you guys
I think without the controversy they both would have liked it more. It built it up to be more than just the typical rogen film.
This movie gets a rental rating because I enjoy life and do not want to get killed.......lol !!!
I liked it. What Korey said about the first half was spot on. I liked when the were in North Korea way more also.
I loved it, gotta go with corey on this one.
Martin looking like a boss.
WW3 is about to go down because of The Interview. I'm calling it.
***** a nuclear warhead in your back garden...
***** I've already planned…*pulls out space helmet*
This movie was HILARIOUS!!!! "They Hate-A us cuz they ain'tus. I like it" 😭😭😭😭😭 I was so weeeeeak. Kim was super funny
Sounds like something I might like.
What's wrong, Martin? You don't like America?
I like how Korey said you shouldn't leave the house for The Interview, but he gave it a matinee.
Captain Matinee strikes again !
Great review!
Martin C'mon, you didn't like the Eminem scene?!
I didn't laugh at all at this movie but i still found it really entertaining so i think that makes it pretty good
This movie made me laugh a few times. It was so absurd.
Im not american but i would give it matinee. Either im not that smart or thats just my type of comedy but it was amazing! :D
Does anyone else notice the rising tension between these two throughout their last few reviews???
I actually found it funny and people are hating on it because it was over hyped and it came average.
seems like martin hates this more than hot pursuit
Ok guys, I know you were in Night Attack episode 3, but try not to recreate their domestic dispute ;-).
But really though, even though I rented this, got super baked for it and watched it with friends, I didn't really like it. I stepped out for a smoke and didn't even bother stopping it, and I had it on demand!!
It was ok but we as not ground breaking like it was build up
Please do gambler

That would've been funnier than what they went for which was honestly. .lazy.
Martin needs to take a break from movies so he likes them more again lol.
This movie was surprisingly good. Some meh moments but worth a watch overall.
lol at 5:14 that's a powerful argument man x')
Did Lizard Squad hack Corey's shit, too?!?! xD
9:45 Korey just seems like like he goes off into a paranoid stoner monologue
Martin is just peanut butter and KY Jealous.
I agree with Martin. The Interview was some ol bullshit.
i have yet to see it actually and all the reivews say the same thing martin says i might check it out one day but maybe not now lol
Just another comedie movie with Rogen and Franco that fallen short just like This is the end. 5/10
Korey seems to get more easily pissed off at conflicting opinions now then he ever did on spill.
This movie fought for our freedom lol lmao
7/10, possibly 6/10
More like 4/10
I knew this movie was going to be bad...still don't know what all the fuss was about.
I think I laughed a lot more during this review than during the actual movie lol.
13:56 I'm on the side of Martin's Face
I know my comment is late but I've seen this movie. I agree with Martin 💯 percent. This movie is some ole bullshit
The problem with comparing MLK's looks with Kim's is that with Kim his looks are one of the main features. Whenever someone mentions his name you think about his baby face :)
This is the End was Shit, but this was acctually pretty funny. IMO
I'm with Martin! Let's move to North Korea together I suppose..
id watch... deep star six 10 times before id watch the interview again :/
I def have never looked like Kim Jun Un. I dont care how he looks either.
Thanks for spoiling the Eminem cameo
DT reviews are best watched for entertainment instead of a bad movie or after you've seen the movie your interested in. Was the same for spill.
These videos need to be Shorter
Fuck that! the movie was funny as hell!
the thing with this movie is that it fails as a comedy and fails as a satire, at best it's a satire on americans but i cant even tell if thats intended so everyone involved just looks like an asshole.

+KimmimaruSai
They are both partially right, the movie is terrible, but it's better than anything Adam Sandler has ever done (well, so is the testscreen).
I'd laugh my ass off if Korea actually threw a fit about this.
This was pretty much a bullshit to me
I remember some things were funny, but I never laughed.
... strange
I really don't understand how THIS caused controversy, yet Team America World Police caused close to none.
Idiocy my man.Idiocy.
proto245 It still ticks me off. The people that think this could start WW3 are even worse.
Probably bcuz the entire plot of this movie is about assassinating the leader of North Korea
Spike Spiegel Which is bulls**t to go to war for. It's a movie, not a goddamn propaganda.
DeShawn Wright I can relate to that.
god bless amurica
Martin hates fun!
I've been waiting for you two to review this movie since Sony put it out online! I agree with Korey, the first half was stupid and annoying but I liked it when they got to North Korea. DELTABOY04 Still, I’m glad I saw this review, that song bit was great...
