If they aren’t your favourite band….they will be soon! 3 great friends who have so much respect for each other. They are the blueprint for a band. They are the 3 greatest fucking musicians on the planet. Everybody plays lead! G.O.A.T. 40 year fan!
Nobody ever wrote music like this, NOBODY!! They stand ALONE And NOBODY comes close!!! Bytor and the snow dog studio version from the album Fly By Night, Neil's first album with them will blow you away Thanks for the Awesome memories
Alex Lifeson deserves to be mentioned in conversations that include names like Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana. He’s an absolutely amazing guitarist, but - importantly - an amazing musician.
The first side of Moving Pictures is Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, YYZ and Limelight. I'd like you guys to react to 'heavier' Rush. Stick it Out, Double Agent, Driven, Headlong Flight - oh you guys have so so so far to go in your Rush journey.
One of my favourite Alex solos ❤ He can emote such emotion from his guitar and like you say he doesn't have to be flashy all over the place. If you haven't done it already I would suggest Analogue Kid by them. Alex's solo is blistering!!
If you want another amazing and emotional Alex solo, check out The Garden. It’s the last song off their last album, and the perfect ending to their careers.
Alex was a genius at blending his solos into the songs. They were exactly what each song needed, NOT what he could or wanted to do. He was a master of dynamics as well, not just thrashing as loud as he could, he could change dynamics between strums and squeeze every single ounce of power out of the softest notes.
My daughters grew up on Rush SRV and my small band. One of my girls named her beauty salon Limelight Studio. What a great tribute to the greatest band ever. The wink to dad is appreciated too!
My favourite guitar solo of all time. It cries out the lyrics without saying a word, it's like wailing and asking for solitude and being a bit apologetic about it. It's not just notes, it's a story. Rarely a guitar solo is so in touch with the lyrics. I wish I knew what Neil had to say when he heard it.
In his recent Shred with Shifty interview he said he was trying to evoke the feeling of loneliness that comes from living a life that's kind of fake and disconnected from reality, that the solo is fragile, almost breaking down, with the faster parts representing not being in control and the climbing notes at the end a feeling of desperation, clinging to the last note. As you said, it's a story. Perfection!
Im so glad to see people discover what ive known for 35 years. Rush has been my favorite band and im glad i had the chance to see them 16 times in my life. R.I.P Neil you are missed😢
I took a skeptical friend and a die hard fan like myself to see Rush in Austin, TX.. My HipHop loving friend was blown away. He was so looking forward to hating Rush but he couldn't help but be amazed.😮
Canadian content,I'm so proud to be Canadian when I here rush,it seems these days the only thing we can call true values of being Canadian, our leaders are selling us out .LOnG LivE RUSH❤
The driving undertones of his varied double bass throughout the tracking that brings a rolling thunder over the horizon while his hands are hitting varied time signatures will never be duplicated so naturally.
There's a beautiful little note that Geddy plays on each verse after the first. He drops down an octave on the "and of one" in the 4th bar of the verse, to play a low F#, but it's the way he just slips it into a little eighth note space that Neil leaves for him. It's gorgeous.
Alex is top 10 in my book every single solo of his sounds different and I don’t think many others can accomplish that also this is his best solo and my fave
I enjoy seeing a younger generation hearing and appreciating this music and group. This music...Rush, Blue Oyster Cult...this got me through high school in the late 70s and early 80s. Back then it was just music my parents disapproved of. It was music that only appealed to a niche of my peer group. Today its classic rock and 80s legacy. So happy youve discovered what was for me a lifeline to sanity. Cheers and thanks!
True that about Alex's solo guys and Limelight in general. I personally give more praise for his solo on a song called By-Tor and the snow dog. You maybe could check it out, anyway, you guys are great, love your work - thankyou.
The Professor at work. Neil was amazing as always. The lyrics really make you think about the reality of what so many think is 'the dream' but every profession has it challenges and its set backs and its pitfalls. These 3 are arguably the most cohesive and talented group ever.
I have a habit that right before Alex's solo, in this case 3:25, I'll say to myself either out loud or in my head " ladies and gentlemen Mr Alex Lifeson" and try to finish that blurb just as his solo starts
Greatest Band Great Song Great Reaction as usual. You 2 are the best and I watch a lot of different ppl who do Reactions you 2 are by far my favorite and the best!!! Keep doing you!
If you listen to the lyrics, those are Neil writing about his dealing with the stress of being a celebrity. this is the summary , and he talks about how fans see him as someone that they know but he has nothing the same to give back. Living in a fisheye lens Caught in the camera eye I have no heart to lie I can't pretend a stranger Is a long awaited friend
Yep! Read them beforehand but forgot to discuss them. Neil’s a great writer let alone drummer and from what we’ve gathered through the fan base Neil writes the majority of the lyricism.
I remember listening to a radio interview back in the late 80s and the question to Alx was " what is your favorite guitar solo?" Without hesitation he said Limelight.
MOVING PICTURES IS A MASTERPIECE! ALEX’s GUITAR 🎸 GEDDY’S BASS AND SYNTHS, AND NEIL PEART’S DRUMS SOUND IMMACULATE!!! THEY NEVER SOUNDED THIS GOOD BEFORE OR AFTER THIS ALBUM!!! THE DRUM SOUND IS KILLLEERR!!
Watch the exit stage left live version from 1982. At the end of the solo, it’s the first time I saw a looper used at the end of the solo you can see Alex using it. I don’t think they had been invented yet.
Great reaction, y’all!! Everyone in the pocket, beautiful solo’s from everyone then lyrics that describe themselves perfectly!!! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!
This is my all time favorite Rush song. The lyrics written by Neal are basically an autobiography of how much trouble he had, as a very private person, in dealing with the fame and public scrutiny that came with the band's success.
Here is what you need to do.... listen to the song Ten times. Over and iver until thy lyrics are fully understood and incorporated into the mix. Breathe it for a while. Then react
After a while, you just run out of superlatives to describe Rush. You hit a point where you say to someone, "It's Rush!", and if they're in the know, they'll nod at you and say, "Yup." in fellow worship.
Imagine waiting decades to see them live and when it finally happens they open the show with Limelight. Best night of my life.
the solo is soul piercing.
3 Canadian boys who inspired generations of musicians around the world...
Heard this song a million times, it never gets old! Thanks for a great reaction ❤
"I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend"
Another brilliant lyrics by Neil Peart
So missed
Rest in Power, Professor
"One must put up barriers to keep one's self intact"

Encore on "R30 Tour" 2004. Opening song " Snakes & Arrows Tour" 2007. Masterpiece. And that Lifeson-solo... Goosebumps..
One of my favorite Lerxst solos ❤
Alex Lifeson’s guitar tone on this song absolute perfection
Simply the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moving Pictures is my favorite Rush album. On the second side you have Witch Hunt too.
Limelight is just a piece of art, as this whole art is. Pure magic.

Debbie Plato, You are spot on... The analog kid is one of my favorite rush songs

@@mycroft16 Definitely the most underrated of the three.
@@mycroft16 I agree!

Love how you react to Alex's lead. So Mystical and disturbing. Its one of the best leads EVER!!!! JUST KILLIN IT. One of the best ever.
thank you guys! thank you RUSH!!

Great smooth solo from the greatest rock band of all time

Love your RUSH comments. Huuuge RUSHfan. Unbelievable what those 3 guys from Canada do. Keep on making comments from Rush. Greetings Dirk Belgium.
The excitement you guys show for Rush is contagious.
We should make you honorary Canadians 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love from Nova Scotia

The guitar solo is deep, but listen the way Geddy weaves those bass lines under Alex’s solo with the drumming. It’s mesmerizing.
I'm surprised you haven't heard this before. It plays on the radio all the time.
YEP RUSH! Making bands say: WTF since 1974!
Should see the studio version of this,..when they were recording this. Awesome!
Love you two!
Love your reactions!
And, the Lady is so very beautiful.
Kudos, you two!

One of my all time favourite bands ever ❤️ 💕
Alex has musical notes named after him. Now that's a badass.
Thanks Jeff! Can't miss with one of if not the top greatest musical trio. This is at the top of my favorites by Rush. Thanks guys for this one.
This is a perfect song.

"Kid gloves" is another solo that rips
Let's go!!
Alex makes the guitar sing!
😻🐾

Living in a fisheye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long awaited friend

The Camera Eye would be a great listen for you guys… 🤘🏻
That’s my favorite Alex solo
They would lose their minds!
@@Smartie1 The solo section in The Camera Eye may be their best. And that's saying a lot considering how many great ones they have!
Think about it, that was from 1981 and it's only a three man band. That is f****** impressive man
Rush are Masters of Music and Lyrics. Alex's solo. 🔥🎸
Count the beats!
Rest in peace Neil, play for God now everyone back here on planet earth miss you,we will always love the professor
❤ ❤... ❤
😎👍

Yes their music is second to none but you are overlooking one of the things that makes Rush, Rush. Pay attention to the lyrics. They are amazing
Didn't know there were people on this earth who HAVEN'T heard this song!
Do Rush Analog Kid...
Best. Solo. Ever.
I agree but Analog Kid runs it VERY close.
Listen to the solo section and concentrate on each instrument separately and it's like you're hearing 3 solos simultaneously.
There are NO bad songs on MOVING PICTURES. It is one of those rare albums like Iron Maiden’s PEACE OF MIND.
Watch the exit stage left live version from 1982. At the end of the solo, it’s the first time I saw a looper used at the end of the solo you can see Alex using it. I don’t think they had been invented yet.
Alex has always said that this is one of his favorite solos and its definitely one of mine. 😊
This is a radio-friendly song. With 4 time-signature changes. Nobody else could drive it that straight
There can be, only 3
Man the talent just jumps out to you on this one. Geddy and Neil are kicking ass but that guitar work by Alex gets me everytime.
You both seem like a fun couple. I’m assuming you are anyway. And it seems like you both really love music. Enjoyed just chillin watching you both.

Hi guys I’m from Malta, Europe. Can I suggest Middletown Dreams. Amazing song.
Great reaction. Sign RUSH EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED .
Each Sony Is unique and great a máster puede from a master musician.
Great reaction again
Opeth - In My Time of Need, and it needs a lyric analysis too!
Do Available light please !!!
🏆🏆🏆🏆!
Not many bands take a line from one of Shakespeare's lesser known plays and turn it into a genius prog rock song.
Please react to Rush - ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE, songs - By-Tor & The Snow Dog / In The End. Walk off rock, from 1976!!
❤
Not a bad track on this album
I don't know if you know Rush but do it !! you will not be disappointed !! 😎 Each musician is awesome
Yeah RUSH.......you run out of words....
Here is what you need to do.... listen to the song Ten times. Over and iver until thy lyrics are fully understood and incorporated into the mix. Breathe it for a while. Then react
I guessed you liked it then 😅
No lajf no self

Peart; amazing drummer and lyricist.
